About Mike Lumpkin
The Lumpkin Family has owned this property since purchasing the original home in 1953. That home was destroyed by fire in 1971. This newer home was built in 1980 and has been re-modeled twice since then. We love using it as a year round retreat from the too-hurried pace of our daily lives.

Why Mike Lumpkin chose Jeremy Cay
The mystery and magic of Edisto Island has always been a draw for us. The privacy and isolation of our own Cowpens Island community has been particularly rich for our lives.
What makes this House unique
The secluded location, along with the entertainment provided by nature and the spectacular views, provides an oasis conducive to relaxation. Here we can enjoy the truly rich pleasures of life. Some of the things we enjoy most are the peace and quiet...the birdlife (from painted buntings to pelicans)...the wildlife (porpoises, otters, deer) shelling...swimming... boating...fishing...crabbing...reading...napping. OWNER CAN SOMETIMES ASSIST WITH LAUNCHING AND SECURING YOUR BOAT AT THE DOCK--Jon boats and boats under 16' are ideal for this creek.

Relaxing Get Away
This was our 4th time staying at the property, the only complaint we had was that there were roaches in the Kitchen, Master Bedroom & Breakfast Room Area.
In reference to the roaches in our house, we have repeatedly had it sprayed this summer. They have been particularly bad this year. We are actively working to resolve this.
A quick getaway from Charleston
Such a unique property with the creek at the back and the beach out the front. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to kayak from the dock to Edingsville Beach.
Magical Kayak w Dolphins
Your house is an immersion into the flora and fauna of the SC lowlands marsh, and we loved it. Tip - rent a Kayak and/or canoe to enjoy the marsh and get to the beach uniquely. Two of our trips from dock to beach included a half hour game of tag with a mom-child dolphin pair, wow. The dock was a wonderful place to sit and read with a breeze, and for our family to gather and enjoy the sunset. The front sitting area we enjoyed for rocking chairs, beach reading, beach views, and all the daily comings and goings of the island bird families at the feeders (nice touch). NOTE: the beach is a serious trek by foot - bring or rent bikes as we did, and it's no problem. But walking with any "stuff" would be a drag when it's hot. SHELL fans: this beach has the mother lode of unique shells, check the high tide line.
Thank you for a generous overview of Sea Forest. We love it, too. :)
A week in paradise
There are no words to describe the soaring of the pelicans, the crashing of the waves in the distance, the steady sea breeze, the popping of the marsh at low tide, the beauty of the oak lined dirt road to the vegetable stand, the flavor of the delicious steamed crabs from the creek, or the absolutely amazing views (front and back) of pristine Edisto Island, SC. Staying at Sea Forest is like stepping back in time. We loved every minute of it.
We had a fantastic stay. Great house in a beautiful spot!
This is our second time returning and had the most relaxing stay. Beautiful views from the front and the back porches. Wonderful sunshine and ocean breezes. Enjoyed wildlife and birding from the dock and beach walks discovering a variety of beach finds. We will definitely return.
Birdwatching, Wonderful Marsh/Nature Scenes for artists who paint and for nature photographers. Fishing, crabbing, creek and ocean swimming.
