About David Zimmerman and Roxanne Bartsh
Hi Folks... My name's Jack. My people, Dave and Roxanne, purchased this building in 2001 before I was even born. Dave has been working on renovation of this building and Roxanne owns Wild Ginger Boutique which is on the first floor of the building. The 3 of us moved into an apartment in December 2013 so we are right here to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I look forward to meeting you!

Wonderful warm, cozy apartment and hosts in the heart of Zumbrota.
Historical building...fully appointed apartment. Sit around the gas fired "fireplace stove" and relax....in between shopping, hiking and site seeing. Great unique shopping, friendly people...everything within walking distance of apartment. Not a lot of eating variety in Zumbrota but just up the road is Red Wing and many many options. Check out the State Theater, a venue for great musical groups and seasonal productions..if you time your stay right you can be part of this vibrant entertainment community. Heard that in the summer there is music in the park...beautiful park to hike in. on trail..for miles along the Zumbrota River ..or just go for a short run or bike..
Very cozy 19th century era room, but wonderfully modernized
I stayed for several weeks at this cozy, comfortable apartment. Access to cafe's, grocery and hardware was excellent and all within easy walking distance. I loved the soft water for showers and my personal laundry also with complete control over the room temperatures. The lighting in each room was plentiful and the ceiling fans were a neat touch to this period living. The landlords were cheerful neighbors were super nice and extremely accommodating to my needs or questions. I would stay in this place again for sure. Highly recommended.
A meld of 1899 architecture with today's amenities
The historical architecture including hardwood floors, tall windows, high ceilings and pocket doors brought warmth to this cozy, comfy and clean apartment. The new kitchen and bath are convenient for today's comfort. Looking forward to our next stay!
Very Nice Apartment
Stayed with my 89-year old Mom and sister-in-law for a family reunion. The building is old and quaint, but the apartment was recently remodeled with new fixtures in the bathroom and kitchen, and probably new lighting, beds, etc. Most impressive were the very high (12'?) ceilings, 10' windows and massive wooden antique doors, including a set of magnificent 10' pocket doors. For sleeping, there were two twins in the bedroom and a futon in the front sitting room (can be closed off via pocket doors). There also was a full sofa and love seat. The location is right downtown near several cute shops. Dave and Roxanne were gracious and available. The only challenge for us were the 20+ steps to get to the second floor because of the very high ceilings in this old building (fabulous wood stair rails in the front steps!).
They had a good stay.
Easily 5 out of 5 stars!
This is an excellent place to stay in SE MN!! Roxanne and Dave are wonderful hosts, and the apartment is in the heart of beautiful Zumbrota. Plenty of room, great kitchen and bathroom, and cozy surroundings. Groceries are an easy walk, as is a paved walking trail. Many, many stores and arts opportunities—don’t miss Wild Ginger, Bridget’s coffee and Luya (to name a few.) Thank you Dave and Roxanne!!
Zumbrota is becoming a real arts community. Stay for the music concerts on the weekends at the Zumbrota State Theatre or Crossings at Carnegie. Check out the links for ZAAC and Crossings. If you need a place to stay as you visit Mayo Clinic, you couldn't ask for a nicer place to relax after a day of appointments. We are only 20-30 minutes from Mayo Clinic.
