Europe House Rental Photos and Description

Peaceful location. Panoramic views. 3 Bedrooms, sleeps 6.

The House is just 1hr 15min drive from the Ljubliana airport, which benefits from cheap flights operating from London Stansted. Trieste and Venice airports are accessible from Birmingham and East Midlands. Klangenfurt and Graz in Austria are only 1.5 hours away. Planina Na Pohorje is small hamlet on a quiet hillside location with stunning views looking into the valley. The traditional chalet style accommodation has a large open plan modern kitchen and dining area and a balcony overlooking the valley and traditional wood burning fireplace and a separate lounge, which is both cosy and comfortable. We have a modern luxury bathroom on the ground floor with a walk in power shower. Upstairs there are 3 attractive chalet style bedrooms one with a balcony another with magnificent views of the valley below the bedrooms are spacious , twin bedded and can comfortably sleep 6 people.

Summer Activities: We are situated within walking distance of an extensive network of way marked trails (maps provided) for walking and cycling through pine forest mixed woodland and pastures. This vast network of trails offers stunning vistas over the valley and surrounding hills.

By arrangement through the local tourist office in Zrece it is possible to combine your walk/cycle ride with a visit to one of the many farms where you can enjoy a banquet of lovingly prepared home cooked food, local produce and snaps.

The area is totally unspoilt and rural in nature perfectly suited to peace and relaxation and sightseeing in general. The climate in Summer generally gives above average hours of sunshine and the mountain location ensures that it is never too hot.

There is a golf course close to the town of Slovenske Konjice about 20min by car. The course is set amongst vineyards and has a stream running through the centre and includes 9 holes with a total course length of 2500m and a par of

Winter Activities: Skiing, Snowboarding and cross-country skiing are very good from December until March in the immediate area. The ski resort at Rogla is not only one of the largest in Slovenia but at 1500m is also one the highest. You will find everything that you need for your skiing holiday ski rental, servicing, restaurants and a kindergarten . A fabulous leisure facility stands at the top of the lift system with Olympic class facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports a pool, thermal baths and saunas.

For adrenalin junkies there is a 1.4km toboggan run close to the Ski Centre.

There is virtually no light pollution on Planina meaning that stargazer's will be treated to a dramatic view of the night sky particularly in the Winter months.

There are board games, a good selection of DVDs, books and video console games available for your use in the lounge area. The stereo has an ipod/mp3 connection.

Super!

  • 5 of 5

We had fabulous two week family vacation (2 + 2 teens) in Jan 2014. This was our second visit. We got this "charge" and feelings what you want from holiday. This impressions created by different aspects which is directly connected with place you are, In this case it goes in complex, the house location, its condition, nature around, facilities near by, It makes you staying very comfortable and let you feel relaxed. Additionaly to above we got the exhaustive support from owners (Clive and Ruth) and didn't have any problem. We can recommend this property for active vacation.

Our common opinion we'll definitely get back!

Thanks again to Clive and Ruth.

Regards,

Mikhail L

Picture Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Just back from a wonderful week in the mountains. The house is spacious and comfortable, very clean and every bit as good as it looks in the pictures (not always the case with some rental properties). There were six adults in our group and the owners kindly let us bring our dog along too. Facilities were very good - well stocked kitchen, with the luxury of fresh spring water straight from the tap, great shower and comfortable, warm beds.

The weather wasn't always on our side but the large choice of DVD's kept us entertained when rain scuppered our plans on a few afternoons.

Rogla ski resort is close by and we enjoyed a few days on the slopes, there are also some great walks to do right from the house. Lots of info and suggestions for days out are also provided.

We found the owners to be very helpful with quick responses to any queries both before and during our stay. Would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely house for all seasons!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a superb stay in Slovenia. The house is really nice, bigger than expected, clean and up-to-date. Good facilities for cooking. Plenty to do locally, nature, culture, whatever you want really. We were here for skiing, excellent snow and plenty of it. The resort is very easy to get to, only 15 minutes by car and all facilities are there. Almost everyone speaks English in Slovenia. Would recommend this for family weeks away, as a base for skiing, walking in mountains or exploring Slovenia.

Icing on the cake for a perfect ski week

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Clive & Ruth's was just perfect.

The place is fabulous, halfway between Rogla ski and spa town Zrece. The house has all the amenities for a pleasant stay, short or long. Is as be at home.

We could enjoy four wonderful days of fun family skiing (Rogla is a perfect resort for families, with slopes for all levels) followed by relax in thermal pools and local dinner (as we say in Spain) "good, nice and cheap".

If anyone still doubts about rent this house, stop!. It is a safe bet.

The only problem we have found is no available dates to return soon.

---

Perfect.

  • 5 of 5

We spent wonderful week (two families: 4 adults and 3 young kids) in Clive&Ruth's house in Planina on Pohorje.

Communication with the owners: excellent. We have not only received detailed info on booking but as well as the updates before the trip. Always promptly responding to my questions (which I had: I am that kind of a person).

Place: perfect. Small and quiet village "5-15 minutes from everything". If you go skiing - it will take 15 easy-drive mins; If you go to spa - again 15 mins; If you want domestic restaurant - 5 mins. Hiking paths starts near the house. So - a bit of everything!

House: Excellent. Everything we needed + extra bonus: neighbor dog! The fact he was constantly visiting us made us "feel at home". Perfect view, good fireplace, nice collection of DVD movies, X-box....

Skiing: excellent for families. Combination of slopes that makes "something for everybody": Intersport ski school is very good and affordable; ski pass pretty affordable; even drinks on the slops are affordable.

Spa: Very good. Zre?e has decades of spa tradition - it's not the best place but it is a really decent place.

Surrounding: Pohorje is very nice mountain, good to be there any time of the year; Neighboring cities are all small and very nice: Zrece, Konjice, Ptuj... But at the same time you'll find everything you need.

Conclusion: We will be back. Maybe will try some other season, as well.

Igor, Belgrade

Peaceful, idyllic retreat

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a peaceful week in this fantastic retreat. The house is just beautiful, unique, and charming. Spacious, comfortable, well-equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed quiet mornings, meals, and views on the outside dining patio. The surrounding rolling hills provide ample opportunity for mountain biking, running, walking. Ptuj, the oldest town in Slovenia, is very pretty and worth a visit. Since we were there during the summer heat, we would sightsee during the morning and cool off in a Terme park during the afternoon. Ptuj’s waterpark is new, very nice, but crowded - to be expected. We enjoyed the Terme Zrece swimming complex, as well; its’ a short drive from the house. We also visited the Museum of Evolution in Krapina, Croatia, at the site where a significant discovery of Neanderthal man was found. The town does not offer much, but the museum is impressive, very well done. We thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic Pekel (Hell’s) Cave, 5km north of nearby Sempeter. These cool caverns were an inviting respite from the August heat and surprisingly uncrowded. The tour guide was fantastic. The Roman Necropolis in Sempeter was an interesting site, as the guide gave us an energetic, entertaining and informative tour. So, we really learned about the mythological inspired motifs. We highly recommend this wonderful vacation home and thank Clive and Ruth for sharing it. Karen, Brian & family.
