|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
This villa is located on a quiet, purpose-built complex on the outskirts of the village of Obrochiste. The spacious, open-plan ground floor has a light and airy feel, with comfortable sofas and flat-screen satellite TV and DVD player. The dining area has an extendable table and seating for 8 people (plus a high chair). The kitchen is fully-fitted with fridge/freezer, oven, ceramic hob and washing machine and all the utensils you will need.
There is a double bedroom on the ground floor with twin beds, and door leading to the rear patio area - ideal for barbeques. There is also a shower room.
Upstairs, you will find three further bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and travel cot. The other rooms have twin beds. Two of the bedrooms open out onto the balcony, with fabulous views. There is a bathroom with corner bath and a further shower room.
The villa is close to a shared swimming pool, and there is a second pool on the site.
The village of Obrochiste is located 38 km from Varna airport, about 40 minutes drive. Driving directions are provided should you decide to hire a car from the airport. Or we can arrange for an English-speaking driver to collect you from the airport and take you to the villa. Local taxis and a minibus service means that it is not essential to hire a car although you would find it useful if you plan to explore the surrounding area.
It is a short stroll to the mini-supermarket in the village which will supply all of your basic needs, plus many smaller village shops, bars and a pharmacy. There are restaurants and bars in the village within walking distance.
The nearest beach is at Albena, about 5 minutes drive away. This is a family-friendly resort with lots of activities and water sports for all ages. Sun loungers and parasols can be hired on the beach. There are bars, restaurants and clubs and a water park with pools, slides, lazy river, etc. The resort of Kranevo is 10 minutes drive away, less smart than Albena but much cheaper with excellent restaurants and a fabulous 5-star spa hotel where you can spend the day being pampered!
People in search of a more vibrant resort will probably prefer Golden Sands (about 20 minutes drive). There is a water-park here too, and lots of clubs, bars, restaurants and casinos. The town of Balchik is worth a visit for a stroll around the botanical gardens and a leisurely meal in one of the harbourside restaurants.
The city of Varna has shops (including a newly opened shopping mall), cinema, theatre, bowling, bars, restaurants and clubs. There is plenty of culture to be explored too. There is a Dolphinarium and a Go-kart track.
If you enjoy golf, then there are three championship golf courses within 20 - 30 minutes drive of the villa. With spectacular views over the Black Sea and pro-shops where you can hire clubs. Non-golfing partners can spend the day relaxing in the spa. They all have excellent restaurants. The course are BlackSeaRama and Thracian Cliffs (both designed by Gary Player), and Lighthouse Golf (designed by Ian Woosnam). You must also visit the Kaliakra Resort on the cliffs - fabulous infinity pools.
Cape Kaliakra is a lovely day out, with its historic ruined fortress. If you like mussels, then pay a visit to the mussel farm where you can watch them farming the mussels in the bay while you enjoy a plate of fresh shellfish. If you enjoy wine, then the renowned Varna Winery is practically on the doorstep. Enjoy a tour of the winery and finish with a guided tasting of some of the best locally-produced wines in the country.
There is a folder in the villa with suggestions of places that have been personally recommended.
We have been visiting Bulgaria since 2007, and every time we go, we find something new. It is a beautiful country with friendly people. The pace of life is slow and it is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday.

Hello, we are Graham and Sarah Finch and we live in Reading, Berkshire, UK.
Sarah & Graham Finch purchased this house in 2007
We first visited Bulgaria in 2007 and stayed in a villa on the complex that belonged to a friend - and fell in love with it! At that time, our villa had been built but was still unfinished on the inside so we were able to design the layout and finish to our specification. We wanted to make it a real home-from-home and hope that we have managed to achieve this. We 'moved in' in 2008 and return there twice a year for our holidays.
As our children were growing up, we used to look forward to our holidays and visited a variety of countries and destinations, including hotels, B&B's, farmhouses and chalets. Although we had some great holidays, the one thing that we really missed was the opportunity to have some space: 4 people crammed into one hotel room was fun, but not relaxing! The beauty of having a villa is that you can spend quality time together, but can have your own space when you need it. When you spend time in our villa, you will relax, unwind and really feel as though you are having a holiday.
We have now been to Bulgaria twice a year since 2008 and we love it. Every time we go, we discover new things to do and places to visit. The people are friendly and welcoming. The pace of life is laid-back and relaxed, it's like stepping back 50 years in time!
The villa is in a great location. It is at the back of a purpose-built complex with woodland to the rear and a fabulous view over the valley. There are 2 swimming pools on the complex and you will soon make friends with other holiday-makers around the pool. Both pools have separate shallow areas for the kids to play in.
If you are looking for night-life on your doorstep, then this probably isn't the place for you. The village is a short stroll away where you will find shops, bars and restaurants. If you want night-life, then you are just a 5 minute drive away from Albena and 15 minutes from Golden Sands, where you will find clubs, bars and restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay in the villa very much. It's very clean and there's enough space for a numerous family. Outside there's a pool we used a lot in the evening after arriving from the beach or from some trip. The villa is very nicely equipped and comfortable and there's an inviting atmosphere about it because of the light colours. We also got to know another family living in one of the other villas and had a nice afternoon playing cards.
Thanks for the beautiful time,
The Weddeling family
The property was a good size and in a great location for touring the coast from Cape Kaliakra and Kavarna down to Golden Sands and Varna. The closest resorts were Albena and Kranevo which both had fantastic beaches and a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants (5 minute drive/2-3 miles distance). We tended to eat regularly at Balchik which had numerous high quality and reasonably priced restaurants (15 -20 min drive).
We had some great days out and in particular enjoyed the sights in Varna, the Petrified Stone Forest (10 miles east of Varna), a coastal speed boat ride from Balchik and Aladzha Monestary near Golden Sands. We had a great all inclusive day at the Grand Hotel Varna and played 2 fantastic golf courses at Thracian Cliffs and The Lighthouse both of which had great facilities for the non golfers.
The villa itself was very spacious and comfortable although we did not spend much time there. The pools were well located and never too busy and the lady who ran the bar/restaurant on site was absolutely charming. We only ate there once towards the end of the holiday and it was delicious and well priced.
I think that to really enjoy this villa you should hire a car which we did (or expect to use the local taxis) as the village itself is quite basic. If you do however sort out your transport this is a great villa in a great spot for getting around. We would thoroughly recommend it.
The villa was amazing, it was very clean and spacious which was ideal for a family . All facilities and equipment provided within the villa were great it was like home from home. A BBQ was provided as well as table and chairs and sunbeds. The complex was very friendly with some English families also owning villa's who were very welcoming and willing to help advise about surrounding attractions to visit. The pool was a nice size and not busy at all.
There was a small restaurant on the complex that was ideal when first arriving or for a late drink in the evening. The Bulgarian couple that run it are very nice and happy to assist in any way. You do need to obtain a car for visiting the surrounding beaches and restaurants but the distance is not far at all and the cost of a car is very cheap.
Eating in Balchik is a must as all the restaurants are located along the sea front and the scenery is idyllic. The owners were very nice providing us with details on places within an information pack within the villa which was very useful. Any correspondence was responded to quickly and they provided excellent customer service.
The kids loved the waterpark at Golden Sands and due to the cost of activities throughout being low we could access more attractions and activities to keep them busy which is Ideal. The sandy beach at Albena was gorgeous.
We would definitely recommend to any family who wish to have an active as well as relaxing beach holiday and want more for their money. We will be visiting in the future, a holiday enjoyed by all the family.
The house is big and very clean. You have access to a swimming pool wich is really refreshing after a day of visit. The house is close to the beach (resort or public) and you can easily get Baltchik or Varna by car to have some visits.
I recommand this adress.
The villa is perfect for a big family or a holiday with friends. The furnitures and rooms are bright, spacious and well cared-for. There are only a few steps to the pool. Everything is tidy and the staff is very friendly and helpfull.
We were glad to have a car! You reach the beaches of Kranevo (our favourite) and Albena in a few minutes by car. The beaches are lovely and they weren't crowded. There are many nice restaurants and if you want to cook yourself, you find everything you need in the kitchen of the villa.
Golden Sands is also within reach by car (takes about 15-20 minutes). We wouldn't recomment the beach because it's small and very crowded, but there is a good night life and plenty of shops. Our teenage boys loved it.
We had a great and relaxed holiday and the owners are really prompt, friendly and uncomplicated. Great holiday!
Greetings from Düsseldorf.
Indeed the pictures don't lie. The villa is very clean and modern, and offers a beautiful view to the landscape. For our six years old daughter the highlight was the pool where she was swimming every day of the week we spent there. It was a fine, unfortunately, short holiday, but we look forward to spent some other time there. By the way, the owners are really prompt and helpful :) .
Greetings from Germany
