Welcome to Kana'i A Nalu a quiet resort that sits on the ocean away from the road. This complex sits directly on a 3-mile stretch of white sand beach that spans almost the entire Ma'alaea Bay. This setting is wonderful for romantic sunset strolls. For the more active person this is a great beach to run on as you can do so for miles in peace away from the crowds. The west end of the beach is Haycraft Park and Ma'alaea Harbor. If there is a big south swell, the wave off the harbor, "Freight Trains," can be one of the best in the world attracting expert surfers. Towards the east of Ma'alaea is a great spot for windsurfing, during both trade and Kona winds. This property is located less than a mile walking distance to Ma'alaea Harbor and it is centrally located on the island between South and North Maui. Three miles of quiet sandy beach will entice you to walk, run, or build sand castles. The tropical water is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, or windsurfing.

A short walk down the quiet, tree-lined road will lead you to Ma’alaea Harbor with its great restaurants and shops, including the Five Star rated waterfront. Just steps away is the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium, a putt-putt golf course, rock climbing wall, trampoline and bumper boats. Fun for the entire family!

The lanai is the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or tea as you watch the whales playing (December-March) or boats going in and out of the harbor. The ocean front heated pool is set in a tropical landscaped courtyard that will inspire you to relax. If you’re not into swimming there are plenty of lounge chairs for reading and sunning. There are charcoal barbecues and a gas grill for you to use.

Our 950 sq ft condo has two bedrooms with their own full bathrooms, all newly remodeled and finished in tropical décor. The master bedroom has a king bed, the other bedroom has two twin beds that can be pushed together to make a king bed (bedding for both options is furnished). A large sectional couch can be used for extra sleeping. There is a fully equipped kitchen that includes a washer and dryer.

This unit includes a window A/C in the living room should you need it although we find it is rarely needed because the trade winds keep you comfortable. There are 4 ceiling fans, and FREE secure Wi-Fi Internet access for your laptop and other devices. This unit is spacious and bright. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishwasher, stove/oven; linens and towels; washer/dryer inside the unit; a telephone for free calls, cable TV, and CD/stereo. This home is a wonderful value for large parties with enough beds to accommodate 4 guests. We will allow up to 5 people please ask permission.

I am the Customer Service Manager for this lovely property and the owner of'Maui Vision Rentals. It is a business I love because I get to share the Aloha Spirit, the beauty of the land, and talk story with people from around the world. It is nice to know that we can contribute to someone's Hawaiian vacation experience in a positive way. We love to hear back from our happy guests.

Kathy used to live on the island of Oahu with her US Navy family when she was a young girl. Her family later moved to Southern California. She knew that one day she would return to Hawaii, the place she fell in love with long ago. Taking a leap of faith she purchased her Maui condo June 2002 this was the beginning of fulfilling her prophecy of once again returning to Hawaii soil.

Kathy is an artist who is inspired by the beauty of the islands. She captures the beauty she experiences with oil paint on canvas. 'Painting the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands is another way for me to feel close to this special place I call home. I live in Maui part of the year and painting the Hawaiian landscape and people helps me stay connected when I'm not there physically.'

Amazing location

This condo is perfectly located as you have easy access to any HWs that go anywhere around the island. Condo is very well equipped so nothing is missing. AC would need to be replace as it is very noisy. However, this area is very windy so it's pretty easy to cool down the condo just opening windows. The condo offer a great ocean view and located on the west end of Sugar Beach so perfect for a long walk on the beach. This part of the island seems to avoid rain as other regions get rain generated by high mountains.

Clean, well-maintained, and perfect for our family of four.

We were comfortable, and very pleased with this condo! Loved the view, and easy access to Kihei, and Lahaina. Although it was very windy the week we were there, the air conditioning and all the fans, and open windows cooled us. There were many extras in the cupboards and closets that made it very easy for us to live comfortably, and to enjoy extra activities like snorkeling and sitting on the beach. We definitely would recommend this condo!!

Fabulous Unit at Kanai a Nalu

We love Kanai a Nalu! Our stay in this lovely condo was fabulous. We arrived to a spotless, clean, crisp unit. This condo is perfectly equipped with the necessities and very well maintained. The owners have done a fantastic job of keeping the unit updated. The photos here do not do it justice. There are two fans in the dining/living room and one in each of the bedrooms along with an A/C unit in the living room. It was one of the hottest summers on record, so these amenities were a plus. We used the kitchen daily and did a few loads of laundry. It was our little "home" for ten days and we loved it! Extremely clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We can't wait to stay here again! Thank you!

Great Place!

I would recommend this condo to anyone who wants to be close to the ocean, have plenty of room by the pool and who likes to hear the sound of the ocean at night. The pictures on VRBO do not do this condo unit justice. The 2nd bathroom has an up-graded shower and the main living room area furniture has a nice reclining chair in addition to the large L shaped couch. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage children and there was plenty of room for us. During our stay several other family friends stayed at Kania A Nala and it was a prefect set-up. The Kania A Nala is smaller than some of the larger condos and we liked that. It is a quick drive to Kihei (10 minutes to the Safeway) and only a 20 minutes to Lahaina. The restaurant "Beach Bums" is in the Maalaea harbor and we liked their live music and their pork tacos. The only "con" is that the beach space directly in front of the condo unit is relatively small. But if you walk a short distance down toward Kihei there is more beach space and easy boogie boarding area. We hope to get back to Maui and will definitely look into staying at this unit again.

Not Enough Stars

There are not enough stars to use to rate our stay at this Condo.

Everything was Top Notch from the initial contact with the owners to the final day.

The owners responded immediately to every inquiry. When we arrived, the place was spotless. Not only was the Condo exactly as pictured, the pictures don't do it justice. It is very beautifully and tastefully decorated. With the use of mirrors and the way the Condo is laid out, it gives a feeling of "space". Very comfortable, and not cramped at all.

I would have to say, the best part is laying in bed at night, looking out the window at the stars and palm tree swaying in the wind, and listening to the ocean. I miss that!

The location is perfect, close enough to everything, but not in the middle of the busy tourist area.

There are miles of uncrowded beach to walk and set up for the day. Everything you need is provided in the Condo; chairs, beach towels, etc. The kitchen was so well stocked. We cooked all of our meals there, which saves quite a bit of money.

It was definitely the best Condo I have stayed at through VRBO, and hope to go back again. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful Condo, Great Location

What a great spot! This is the second unit we have stayed in at the building and it was awesome. The unit was very clean with some nice updates and some beach toys like boogie boards and a couple of beach chairs. The unit had everything needed like newer appliances, washer and dryer right in the unit and fridge with ice maker. All the beds where very comfortable which is important to me if staying for two weeks, nothing worse than an uncomfortable bed on vacation. The third floor location gave us an excellent view from the lanai of the ocean and the beautiful grounds. The trade winds and the quiet high quality fans kept the unit very comfortable air conditioning was available and worked great but was not really needed. The grounds keepers keep the place very tidy and well looked after, the grounds and flowers are awesome. The pool is cleaned every morning like clockwork before it opens at 9am and is solar heated so it was 86-88 degrees every day during our stay. The beach the building is on is one of the best walking beaches in Maui and is about 5 miles long. There are only two other buildings then the beach borders Haycraft Park and Ke?lia Pond National Wildlife Refuge so there are no further buildings along the beach. Watch for the Maalaea freight train waves when they happen it attracts a large number of surfers along the harbour edge and lots of boogie boarders at Haycraft Park. The central location made day trips easy no matter what direction we went for the day as we started in the middle of the island. The owners Daniel and Barbara were very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. No regrets here excellent vacation spot and unit, we will defiantly be back!
