One of London’s most elegant parks which contrasts perfectly with trendy Islington to its south. Georgian terraces line the wide boulevards running the length of the this conservation area, peep into their graceful rooms inhabited by discerning journalists, actors and recently joined by London’s mayor, Boris Johnson. Number 22 was featured in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. A sociable place popular with joggers, dog walkers, families the park has a children’s play area, several tennis courts, a swimming pool and a very popular café.
When I first enquired about this property it was new to the market so did not have reviews. But when you look online you tend to 'get a feeling" about the people you deal with. I had a very good feeling about dealing with Ian. So I went ahead and booked 15 nights here. We loved staying in this apartment and this area of London. The local "village' is so friendly. local restaurants and "off licence" ( wine shop) are great. The walk to the Tube station is pretty, through the park, complete with squirrels! We don't have squirrels where we live so loved seeing them and loved having them live across the road in the trees opposite the apartment. Warren, who met us here, was lovely to deal with and he is a definite asset to Ian and this apartment. We stayed her as a family of four and the space was good for that. Everthing is here for you, washing machine and dryer, iron, hairdryer. All has been thought of. This apartment was so good that if we were to go to Italy we would definitely put Ians' place there on our list of places to stay.
Our family had a lovely experience in this property. It was easy to communicate with the owners, and we were met promptly when we arrived. The property was just as advertised, and perfect for our needs. The kitchen, washing machine, and other conveniences really made it a great place for our vacation. The property was located close to local shops, and a 10 minute or so walk from the Arsenal tube station, making it easy to pop in and out of the city. It was a relief to be in a quieter neighborhood after a day of crowds. The only thing keeping us from a 5-star review is that the mattress in the master bedroom was not the most comfortable. It was not terrible, but also not something I'd want to sleep on for longer than a few days. The kids had no complaints about the single mattresses. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this property.
We recently stayed here for 6 days while exploring London. The apartment was perfect. Just as adverised. It is close to two underground stations and was the perfect retreat after a day of sightseing. The area was lovely as well. The local pub has delicious food. Everything we needed was available nearby.
Our family really enjoyed our stay in this flat. It is pleasant, quiet, and convenient. The expanse and play area of Highbury Fields close by should be a real draw, especially for families with kids. As other reviewers have noted, it's near a major transport hub; buses are easy to navigate from here as well.
The representative of the management company who greeted us was friendly and informative. It was a great comfort to know how everything worked and to have someone in the area to call if something went awry. The linen service is also helpful; we'd only wished it had included washcloths.
That's just a suggestion that in no way detracts from the attractiveness of this flat. We'd love to stay here again!
The location is nice, with reasonable access to restaurants, grocery shopping and transit. Quiet street. The manager met us upon arrival and walked us thru everything.
The apartment was a touch small, especially in the living room area. We are a family of 4 (boys aged 6 and 17). The carpeting was worn and the living room furniture should be replaced. The bedrooms were fine.
Overall, a reasonable place to stay, but a bit crowded for a family that spends their evenings back at the flat.
The apartment is situated in a lovely area with local shops and restaurants close by. There is a great play area 10 minutes away and the tube stop is also a 10 minute walk. This made a great base for exploring London.
The apartment itself is clean and very well equipped. We stayed with our 2 and 5 year old sons and it was very well suited to them. Nothing dangerous etc that had to be moved - which we have experienced before.
We had been keen to find somewhere in London that we can use for repeat trips. This apartment is perfect for that. Not only did it suit us now but it will continue to suit our needs as our children grow. We will definitely stay again.
We spent 7 days in the Highbury apartment and impressed by how clean, well furnished and close to the train station it was for the quick ride to London. The neighborhood is delightful! We really enjoyed trying the local restaurants and pubs. A food store, meat and fish store were all a quick walk away. Highbury park which is located near the apartment is beautiful! My husband, children and mom are all ready to move to Highbury!
A fully refurbished (January 2012) modern 2 bedroom apartment accommodating up to 6 people in a quiet street in one of London’s most pleasant regions.
