Keywords: Lake House
We completed construction on our lake house in 2000. Since Bob retired from practicing medicine in 2006, we enjoy traveling and spending the summers in Wisconsin near Lake Michigan. Our favorite seasons at the lake are Fall and Spring. The lake has always been a great place to create warm memories for us as well as our friends and we hope you will feel the magic here as well.
Annette Ellis purchased this house in 2000
We actually bought the property back in 1992. There was originally an old 1950's house that had no curb appeal and we saw the potential. The fact that we have 600+ feet of shoreline and a protected cove for our boat dock made it the perfect location as well as the fact we are at the end of the road!
There are actually five separate porches (three are covered) where you can sit out and enjoy the world or chat with your friends and family. It is intimate and yet everyone can easily have their own space. You can also sit down at the table on the dock and enjoy the sounds of nature or share a meal.
Another feature we offer is our wonderful home manager Helen. We could never rent the house without Helen's help. Helen coordinates our housekeeping crew and makes sure everything is in perfect order for your stay. She will meet you at the house and show you it's special features and answer any questions you may have. We have rented houses where no one meets you, the key is missing and the house was not cleaned properly so we know how important those details are to anyone choosing to rent a luxury home or apartment.
After reading so many other people's notes (in the guest book) I would certainly have to agree. You have a beautiful, relaxing, perfectly appointed lake home! The attention to detail made it oh so easy to have a wonderful time. Even with my 3 small boys we were all able to have space to rest, play, and laugh. The boys loved it so much they asked if we could live here. Thank you for being willing to share such an incredible property with others. It speaks highly of your generous nature. Also a huge pleasure to enjoy your gorgeous paintings at every turn. Thank you so much.
This was our family's 3rd July 4th vacation at the Ellis home because it is the best rental property on Grand Lake as far as we are concerned. The home is beautiful and the views from the home and numerous outdoor decks are as well. Annette and Bob have their home set up perfectly for enjoying lake life as it should be enjoyed. They also have a wonderful property manager, Helen, who is available if anything is needed. They even made sure we were able to catch some fish off the dock. If you are looking for a place to spend a week on Grand this is the it. Our family of 10 are always very comfortable, plenty of room for all. We will be back.

The Ellis house is the best place to stay on Grand Lake. From the gorgeous home, to the wonderful views, this is definitely a home I would return to again and again. Our pontoon boat and wave runners fit perfectly in the dock. And after being on the lake, we grilled out and enjoyed the great view. It was so hard leaving. Can't wait until next summer.
Our stay at the Ellis Home was, bar none, the best VRBO yet! We have multiple stays at various VRBOs and not a one compares to the level of detail and care spent to ensure our stay was perfect. From the dry cleaned sheets to the stocked spice drawer in the kitchen, we truly wanted for nothing! The house manager was very attentive and patient with my numerous questions about the area. We loved all the outdoor games and the ping pong table. We brought our boat and we're thrilled with the cove and covered boat slip. It was a great area to swim and float. Thank you, Bob, Annette, and Helen for a fabulous stay! We can't wait to return!!
Our third visit to this fantastic house, well laid out with plenty of room for small meetings and spacious enough for individual time. Upscale and well looked after – we will return!
What a great house, perfect setting and great lake access. We had two families with grown kids (all in 20s) to relax, wakeboard, grill or just read a book. The dock access (covered slip) attracted us since we brought our own boat. The rest of the house will bring us back. Helen, the house keeper is fantastic. She had sandwiches for us when we arrived and even catered a meal for us during the week.
Just a great week for 8 adults and 2 children. Everything was just perfect. The house was great. The view of the lake wonderful. The grounds perfect. The inside was just as good. It was the best house in our 10 plus years with VRBO
