About Leo or Marina

My name is Lenny. I traveled Upstate New York for most of my life in the US, but came to love Delaware/ Broome Counties for their nature and unsurpassed fishing & hunting opportunities. Came upon this house by accident and it was the best accident that happened to me! Now, faced with a hectic lifestyle, working the Tri-State area, I am no longer able to visit the place as often as I would like and in turn decided to share this piece of paradise with a few special people. Feel free to contact me any time and stay at our Blueberry Lake retreat.

Leo or Marina purchased this house in 1996

Why Leo or Marina chose Delaware River Valley

Its unsurpassed tranquility and beauty hooked me immediately.

What makes this house unique

Peace and tranquility. Boating, fishing and wildlife watching.

Beautiful winter retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 stayed at the Blueberry Lake for the Holidays and we enjoyed every minute of it. Everything we needed was there (we brought our own linens and towels)... The Sauna was great to warm up and the views of the snowy lake were enchanting to wake up to. The house was spotless, and the caretaker Johnny was very accommodating and fun (his goat farm and goat milk products are also a treat).

We will definitely come back in the summer months to enjoy swimming in the lake.

All the comforts of home in a beautiful setting.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a very relaxing week fishing, boating, and enjoying the beautiful setting on pristine Blueberry Lake. We caught large mouth bass, yellow perch and pickerel. If you can't catch fish in this lake, you're probably doing something wrong.

Upon arriving, we met Johnny, the caretaker, who lives nearby and is very personable and helpful. He filled us in on all the details needed to enhance our stay. Thanks Johnny!

We will definitely be returning next summer.

Nice place

Good property for a family vacation. Wifi, cable, grill, washer/dryer, furnished kitchen, fire pit, 4 boats, dock, largemouth bass, pickerel, perch. This is what I look for every time I go on vacation.

Great getaway place

  • 5 of 5

Me and my coworkers stayed here for 2 months while working in the nearby area. It was a Fanta experience for all of us. The caretaker was exceptionally great to us and tended to all of our needs. I highly recommend this place.....👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

dissapointed

  • 2 of 5

Last year my family rented this property and it was not as advertised. That fish in the picture must have been the only one there. we caught 1 perch a bluegill and 1 small bass in the whole week of fishing. the furniture on the deck is so old my wife fell as the chair legs were all rust. we were there about an hour and the kitchen sink broke. the care taker did begrudgingly have it fixed 2 days later. we made the best of it. it advertised a window air conditioner. we found it in a closet only to be told by the care taker oh that thing doesn't work and never has. the grill ran out of fuel 5 min into using it the second day we were there and a new tank wasn't brought in until we were ready to leave. to bad because that is a beautiful lake and the sauna was great.. we felt pressured by the care taker the whole time there. and then a couple days later received a call from him asking me to put a good review of the place

Owner's Response: Strange review as I have no idea who this is and who would leave a feedback 1 year later. Fishing in Blueberry lake can be short of incredible if one knows how to cast a lure and have a basic skill set. My caretaker received nothing but high accolades from all previous guests, unless they were doing something inappropriate. Propane could have ran out and usually is replenished immediately, but people, our caretaker included, have family and life too and cannot respond to all requests immediately. We have eliminated the propane issue altogether by hard connecting it to a large main propane tank. AC is fully operational so I don't buy the statement, but no one yet even needed it in the house. We always upgrade the equipment as it ages. This year we got a brand new grill and new mattresses with waterproof protectors. Braking a chair could have happened to anyone at any given time. We had several brand new chairs broken by renters too. It is unfortunate someone leave such a feedback without contacting us first and letting us personally know that something was not up to par, instead hiding behind the curtain. Obviously you want to come back again, otherwise you would have told us who you are.

Perfect Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time my family (8 people) has stayed at this Blueberry Lake property - the first 4 years ago. Suffice to say the accommodations were wonderful: clean, updated and charming. There's a spacious living room has two seating areas - both looking out to the gorgeous lakefront view. There's a large new flat-screen tv there as well. And of course the young techies in our group couldn't appreciate the quiet, idyllic scenery without wifi - which was graciously provided free of charge.

Outside we made use of the BBQ Grill/seating area on the porch as well as the fire-pit and hammock down below - all overlooking the lake. We had a mixed group but the views, water activities and great fishing kept everyone happy. The lake is quite large, clear, and teaming with fish - which makes for a beautiful day in the water or on the deck (with bench seating.) You can access the water from there or with any of the vehicles provided: rowing boat, paddling boat, canoe & kayak.

Though the location is very private, within a 13 minute car ride you can find yourself in the middle of the small town, Deposit. Here you can find anything you would probably need for the stay so you don't have to worry if you forgot to pack something.

Last but not least the caretakers John & Dawn were absolutely wonderful, and helped us with any questions/requests that we had (thank you!!!)
