About Edwina Kinchington
I am an Educator in secondary education in the City of Pittsburgh. I did cancer research for almost 18 years before becoming a teacher. I love the water - it is in my blood. I was a competitive swimmer in my youth and competed in the 1984 and 1988 US Olympic trials. I love swimming in the St. Lawrence. My husband is also in education as professor at the University of Pittsburgh.
Edwina Kinchington purchased this Cottage in 1959
Why Edwina Kinchington chose Alexandria Bay
Campbell's Linden Cove property was purchased by my Mother and her Father in 1959 as a summer vacation spot. My Mother's family were from Alexandria Bay with the Campbell's (my Mother's maiden name) being doctors in the area. My parents were married in Alexandria Bay and they vacationed here in the late 1950's and 1960's. There had been a large victorian home on the property which became too much to maintain. My parents build the present cottage in 1967 shortly after my sister and I were born. My mother loved this property and we vacationed here more in my older life. My own family (husband, 2 children and dogs) have grown to love the river and the property. Unfortunately, my mother died in 2011. We have made many renovations to the cottage with a brand new kitchen, all new windows, patio enclosure room, 60 ft main channel dock and 30 foot boating dock. We want to keep the property in our family but in order to do that we need to help support the upkeep and taxes which is why we are renting. We hope that you grow to love the property as much as we do.
What makes this Cottage unique
We love dogs and our dogs love the river. We want to allow renters to bring their pets so they can all enjoy it. There are 2 large and secure dog runs on the property if needed. The location of this property is prime waterfront on the Saint Lawrence River. You can safely swim, kayak, boat, fish while watching the lakers go by. We are 1 mile up river from Alexandria Bay, 3 miles from the Bridge. You can sit on the dock and watch the spectacular fireworks at Boldt Castle. There is almost 1 acre of land surrounded by a post and rail fence. The water line is truly amazing with a small island with a bridge. This is one of the most beautiful places in the world and my family has a great deal of heritage here.

Great Week On the River
The property just what I was looking for, right on the river. I wanted to see ships and I did. The owner stayed in touch with me to be sure we were comfortable and we were. She even apologized for the cold weather and the flooding, which we all know was out of her control.
Despite the cold water, rain and flooding we all had a good time. Thank you Edwina.
Another Great Stay
I've stayed at this great cottage on the River with my family multiple times. This last visit was a girls' weekend getaway and we had a fantastic time. The location is perfect, right on the shipping channel with the choice between a great veranda or dock to lounge on overlooking the River. The layout of the home is perfect for gathering in the open kitchen/ dining/living room to socialize and enjoy the amazing views of the ships going by and gorgeous sunsets. Edwina makes a real effort to ensure everyone enjoys their stay in her wonderful cottage. Whenever I leave, I am already dreaming about my next visit.
