Save your spot now… If the dates you desire are not available, be sure to check out our new lodge which will be available on Sept 1, 2017 and accepting reservations now. It can be found at http://www.vrbo.com/1137976
This is what a mountain retreat is all about. Quiet and remote yet all the comforts of home… and then some. This lodge has something for everyone. Whatever your reason for vacationing in the mountains, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve tried to think of everything you’ll need to ensure a first class stay. We’ve paid special attention to every detail inside even though we know once you walk through the sliding glass doors and on to the deck you’ll probably spend a good bit of your time outside.
We hope you agree, the most enticing feature of this property is its location. No need to worry about bothering the neighbors, or even seeing them. You’ll be situated right in the middle of 6 wooded acres and the entire property borders the state forest. Perfect whether you’re a hunter, fisherman, wildlife enthusiast or just someone looking for peace and quiet. If you've come to see the Elk, you likely won't have to go far. They visit the property on a regular basis. If a trip to the Elk Viewing area is on your agenda, it's just a short drive away.
Of course in this day and age we know that certain things are necessary to ensure an enjoyable stay so we come equipped with satellite TV, WiFi Internet access and a cell phone booster system so you can stay in touch with friends and family.
Winter in the mountains can be beautiful and challenging at the same time. A four wheel drive vehicle is generally required especially in January and February. Our lodge is situated on a state forest road with no winter maintenance. The township road which ends at the corner of our property is maintained through the winter but tire chains are recommended if not required at times. Conditions can change quickly so be prepared if you wish to book a stay during January or February.

About Seth Conner and Kevin Frantz
Kevin Frantz and Seth Conner, owners, have been enjoying this region of PA since childhood. Both avid outdoorsmen, this area has fit our lifestyle for over 40 years and we are excited to provide this vacation spot so that others can experience the beauty of the PA Wilds.
Seth Conner and Kevin Frantz purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2015
Why Seth Conner and Kevin Frantz chose Driftwood
We purchased this property and built this home mainly due to its perfect location in the heart of the Pennsylvania Elk Range. Just minutes from Benezette, guests can take a short drive to the Winslow Hill Elk viewing center or even closer, the Hicks run viewing area. Speaking of Hicks Run, 1 mile from the home is some of the greatest trout fishing water in the region. If elk viewing is your reason for visiting, you may not even have to leave the side deck. Elk frequently roam right through the yard. Located on top of the mountain, privacy, peace and quiet are the best features of this location. There isn't another camp in sight.

Highly recommend! Beautiful location-great fire pit-recommend cooking breakfast over the pit, never had such good eggs and bacon. The kids loved the pool table inside-such a plus. Comfortable and clean with EVERYTHING you need. We will be back in the fall to see the leaves change for sure. ADVICE screen shot or write down the directions before you come because 99% sure you will lose GPS/cell reception and it's not easy to find off a main road. Once you get here you have reception but not before!! We made the mistake of losing signal and losing directions!!! Can't wait to come back!!
Great cabin! We really enjoyed our stay in elk country.
The cabin had ample space for activities inside and out. Follow the owners’ suggestion of bringing your own drinking water. Beautiful views of PA forest in this secluded vacation spot!
Everything could not have worked out better!! Plenty of room! Very clean! If you love the outdoors this is the place to go.....
Beautiful and Peaceful
Even though we experienced a winter thaw causing flooding and ice jams and a winter storm on the horizon we decided that wasn't going to keep us from our weekend getaway. We arrived Friday night to a beautiful cabin still smelling like it was just built, the owners have thought of everything that one could possibly need while enjoying there stay. Our weekend was cut short because of a power outage on Saturday after receiving about 8" of snow. We are going back sometime this summer so we can enjoy the beautiful porch and fire ring.
The Baker's and The Sigafoes
Very good but...
Everything was nice and perfect, the full house is new and the local is perfect, I just have 2 things to mention, 1 is the heater upstairs doesn’t warmup enough ( down stairs it’s perfect ) and the shower in the master bathroom to a person like me (6”1 tall) it’s not comfortable because the shower is stuck in the wall and it’s to low so I need to bend my self to wash my body and head, but the rest it’s perfect very comfortable we see a few animals and was very calm and relaxing
Quiet Get Away
Barr None is a great place for quiet relaxation. Hiking trail near the house with elk and deer nearby as well. Great accommodations with a well stocked kitchen and nice baths. Owners are kind and knowledgeable of the area.
We are located in the heart of the elk range with several viewing areas close by. Hicks Run viewing area is a 5 minute drive and the Winslow Hill loop is just down the road from there. If you're looking for elk, you shouldn't have any trouble finding them.
