British Columbia House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Relax in your very private hot tub, sunk into a 900 square foot wrap-around deck, surrounded by trees, and overlooking a beautiful swimming lake accessed from a dock by the property.

This idyllic retreat is truly the best of both worlds; perfectly positioned for winter and summer vacations. Many windows and two sets of French doors opening onto the large wrap-around deck make this fully-equipped home light and bright in all seasons.

Situated in a natural, rural setting amongst the trees, you can enjoy privacy while relaxing in the hot tub on the deck and enjoying the view of the lake. Cross-country ski, mountain bike, hike or walk - off the beaten track - directly from your door.

The lake is regularly frozen in the winter and ice skating is possible. In the summer the lake is exceptionally warm and is perfect for swimming with access from the dock situated on the property. Walk or take your boat over to the two beaches on the lake. Snow and water toys are available for your use or you can use the private tennis courts.

Located in a private, gated estate 15 minutes south of the Whistler Creek Gondola, with access to some of the best skiing in North America and the many fine restaurants, stores, and entertainment available in Whistler. From this rural, relaxing oasis you can enjoy everything that Whistler has to offer.

About Richard Hunter

Chartered accountant, originally from the UK,living in Vancouver since 1980. Currently CFO of a B.C. crown corporation. My wife Therese is a hairstylist and we have 3 grown boys, who do not seem to want to leave home.

Richard Hunter purchased this house in 1992

Why Richard Hunter chose British Columbia

We searched throughout southern B.C. for a vacation home and were extremely lucky to find Pinecrest Estates. There are only 75 homes in the estate and the ones on the lake never change hands. It has the perfect year-round appeal. It truly is a slice of Canadiana for a Brit like me. Snow, skate and ski. Mountains, canoeing, swimming and forest. Away from all of the shops and crowds in Whistler, but close enough if you need it. Plus the logs ... so cozy.

Spotless, Quiet, Beautiful Place for Peace and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

My dog and I were here only for two short but lovely nights. The cabin was spotless when I arrived, everything I needed for a quiet stay. The dock to the lake is in excellent shape and what a great view of the mountains from the dock where I spent a lot of time just relaxing!! The owner was very responsive. I would definitely consider coming back!!

Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent stay at Richards Cabin. It was very well located and a great price point compared to the places in Whistler. He was great to deal with and had everything you could ever need at his place. I would recommend this to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks Richard for the great stay!!!! I hope we can get back soon. Jeff and Jessie

Great group getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights at this property for a group getaway from Vancouver. The house and neighborhood is very quaint and quiet being situated outside of Whistler village, yet was very convenient for those of us that wished to spend the day skiing. There were lots of options with a variety of very well equipped bedrooms, and of course the hot tub was a great feature with a great view onto the lake!

Great cozy ski cabin!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the lakefront log home for our Whistler ski getaway. We had a group of 7 adults, and there was plenty of space for all of us. The wood fireplace kept us very warm, the private hot tub overlooking the lake is spectacular, and it was nice to leave the hustle and bustle of Whistler Village after a day of skiing and retreat to a quiet area. Richard was very accessible in the days leading up to our trip and easy to communicate with. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because we were asked to bring our own towels, which I have not had to do at other VRBO properties, and secondly because the knives in the kitchen were very dull and made our cooking preparations difficult. Overall, we highly recommend this property and would certainly stay here again!

A Wonderful Second Visit!

  • 5 of 5

We first stayed at this lovely log home several years ago when we only had two young children. It became a legend for my then 3-year old, and this year we decided to take the whole family back (now three children). It was just as we remembered--a real gem, tucked into an incredible alpine setting. There are several terrific bedrooms, but our boys loved having the chance to have a "sleepover" all together in one of the larger bedrooms with a bunk bed and queen. There were many books for them to read, games to play and films to watch, although they preferred to spend most of the time outdoors on the beautiful porch or exploring by the lake (in the backyard!). My husband appreciated the hot tub and I loved having a woodburning fireplace (and happy kids!). Richard, (the owner) was very kind and speedy in all of our correspondence with him and really went out of his way to make sure our stay was very happy. We definitely hope to stay here again!
