Overview

British Columbia House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Relax in your very private hot tub, sunk into a 900 square foot wrap-around deck, surrounded by trees, and overlooking a beautiful swimming lake accessed from a dock by the property.

This idyllic retreat is truly the best of both worlds; perfectly positioned for winter and summer vacations. Many windows and two sets of French doors opening onto the large wrap-around deck make this fully-equipped home light and bright in all seasons.

Situated in a natural, rural setting amongst the trees, you can enjoy privacy while relaxing in the hot tub on the deck and enjoying the view of the lake. Cross-country ski, mountain bike, hike or walk - off the beaten track - directly from your door.

The lake is regularly frozen in the winter and ice skating is possible. In the summer the lake is exceptionally warm and is perfect for swimming with access from the dock situated on the property. Walk or take your boat over to the two beaches on the lake. Snow and water toys are available for your use or you can use the private tennis courts.

Located in a private, gated estate 15 minutes south of the Whistler Creek Gondola, with access to some of the best skiing in North America and the many fine restaurants, stores, and entertainment available in Whistler. From this rural, relaxing oasis you can enjoy everything that Whistler has to offer.

About Richard Hunter

Chartered accountant, originally from the UK,living in Vancouver since 1980. Currently CFO of a B.C. crown corporation. My wife Therese is a hairstylist and we have 3 grown boys, who do not seem to want to leave home.

Richard Hunter purchased this house in 1992

Why Richard Hunter chose British Columbia

We searched throughout southern B.C. for a vacation home and were extremely lucky to find Pinecrest Estates. There are only 75 homes in the estate and the ones on the lake never change hands. It has the perfect year-round appeal. It truly is a slice of Canadiana for a Brit like me. Snow, skate and ski. Mountains, canoeing, swimming and forest. Away from all of the shops and crowds in Whistler, but close enough if you need it. Plus the logs ... so cozy.

Gem in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing cabin on a beautiful lake. This cabin beats any other rental anywhere. It felt like home from the minute we arrived. Richard takes very good care of his rental and his renters, following up with a phone call to make sure we were happy. The view of the lake from the hot tub was wonderful. The cabin was spotless and cozy. We spent every day on the dock, paddle boarding and canoeing. There were great hikes very nearby. Our holiday in this beautiful cabin just couldn't have been any better!! Can't wait to return next year! Thanks for sharing your cozy cabin with us Richard!

Relaxing with everything you need both inside and outside

  • 5 of 5

This clean, relaxing and beautiful cabin on the lakeside had everything my family and I (5 adults and 2 kids) needed to get away during a quick renovation at our place. I can only second all the other positive comments written about the place and Richard, who was super prompt and responsive to all of our questions and inquiries. What I want to emphasize is having all of those great features in such a proximity to Vancouver made it possible for me to commute to work without any problem.

Clean, rustic lakefront cabin with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cabin right on a small lake. We visited with our children and had a great time. My boys said it was their favorite 'cabin' of all our vacation getaways. We loved the peace and quiet of the community while being about 15 minutes drive to Whistler. Plenty of hiking and water fun out the back door- this is a gem on VRBO. The owner is very helpful and cares a lot about the cabin and your stay which makes for a nice trip, also. Thanks for a great vacation!

Spotless, Quiet, Beautiful Place for Peace and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

My dog and I were here only for two short but lovely nights. The cabin was spotless when I arrived, everything I needed for a quiet stay. The dock to the lake is in excellent shape and what a great view of the mountains from the dock where I spent a lot of time just relaxing!! The owner was very responsive. I would definitely consider coming back!!

Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent stay at Richards Cabin. It was very well located and a great price point compared to the places in Whistler. He was great to deal with and had everything you could ever need at his place. I would recommend this to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks Richard for the great stay!!!! I hope we can get back soon. Jeff and Jessie
