A very convenient space, right in the heart of Paris. Great place to visit for a couple of days.
We stayed 3 nights in this apartment for our 1st wedding anniversary. The apartment was just as the pictures show. Very nice, clean and well decorated. Of course, it is a bit small but that should be expected for an apartment in Paris. We didn't spend much time in the apartment other than sleeping so the size did not bother us at all. Rina was a great host. She was always easy to get in touch with and she gave us very specific instructions on the best way to reach her apartment from the airport. She gave us the front door code and instructions on how to get into the apartment so we were able to check in with ease. The location was literally 5 steps from the metro stop so it was very easy to get from place to place. There was also many great markets and restaurants/bars walking distance from the apartment. The reason I give this a four is because we had a couple of issues the first night. The metro escalator was right outside the window and workers were doing maintenance on it from 2-3am on the first night. The hammering was so loud that we could not sleep. On top of this, the neighbors kept coming up and down the stairs and we could smell cigarette smoke (which I am highly allergic to). The cars on the street outside the window were also very loud throughout the night. I emailed Rina right away. She responded the next day and let me know that she had talked to her neighbors and told them to try to be more quiet and refrain from smoking. She also said that she spoke with the city and there should not be any more maintenance but if there was we could let her know and she would notify the police. On the second and third night we decided to use the A/C which kind of provided some white noise for us to drown out the sound of traffic. There was no more maintenance nor smoking and we slept GREAT. So, overall it was a great apartment. The maintenance was something that no one could have predicted and the traffic noise can be easily eliminated by the fan on the air conditioner. I would definitely recommend staying here and I will stay here again when I return. 5 Stars for the location, cleanliness, and host!
No one met us at the apartment so we had to track down the owner. Narrow, steep climb upstairs. Small is an understatement. The apartment was so tiny that the three of us had to take turns moving. And there is no privacy - there is no fan in the bathroom and a curtain is all that separates the bathroom from the one other room.
Our stay was in April so the weather was mild but not hot. In spite of that, the apartment was too warm at night so we were forced to sleep with the windows open - a big mistake! The street sounds of people, traffic and merchants moving trash cans or whatever was unbearable.
The owner clearly wasn't concerned with how we would get into the apartment upon our arrival (even though she had been advised of our arrival time) nor was she concerned with he condition of the apartment. In particulr the ladder to the bunk bed was ricketty and partially detached from the bed with two screws missing from the pieces that held the ladder to the bed. After light use the ladder fell apart and could not be climbed safely. The owner was contacted but said in so many words that that was our problem. If the bed couldn't be accessed, tough. No help or even concern for our safety.
So avoid this place like the plague.
My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon in May of 2012 and had a wonderful time! The apartment is in a beautiful neighborhood in Paris, close to a number of popular sites. The metro stop is right outside the door, along with a number of cafes and shops. The apartment is cozy and very well-stocked. It has all of the appliances you might need, including a mini-fridge, washing machine, coffee maker, hot water kettle, wi-fi and television. The owner, Rina, was at the flat to meet us when we arrived. She was very friendly and helped us get settled in and oriented to the city.
We spent four days in Paris before we flew to Milan to continue our honeymoon travels. Once we arrived in Italy, my husband realized that he had left his wedding ring on the bathroom counter of the flat in Paris! Rina saved the day by tracking it down for us and mailing it all the way back to the U.S. after we got home! I was so incredibly grateful to her for taking the time to locate the ring and then mail it back to me internationally. The next time we’re in Paris, we’ll be sure to stay there again! Thank you, Rina! Because of you, Paris will remain a very fond memory for me and my new husband!
Cleverly designed, bright and snug with lovely architecture. A bit like a live-aboard boat where every square inch is utilized (but with a much nicer bathroom !). My husband and I had three nights here with our 6 year old. The ladder to loft (now screwed into place) extends into the livingroom so that with the futon open as a bed you need to climb over the furniture to move around. We had one suitcase and were able to store it under the table. A/C was a portable rolling unit which we vented out the window but it worked and was a "must" for a place of this size with three people.
- Vibrant neighbourhood with some excellent pastry, bakery, meat, wine shops.
- Walking distance to everything from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre.
- Excellent transit system access (literally at the door). Easy access for key pickup
- Good wifi and washer/dryer.
- Some sheets were in the washer when we arrived. Some towels were hanging and damp. Wasn't sure if the loft sheets had been changed or duvet covers washed. It would be nicer (and more usual for a holiday rental) if the owner had a second set of everything and just switched them out when the flat changed hands.
- Only one wine glass and some plastic cups :(
- TV was not picking up channels. As advised, we tried to reboot several times but without success.
Communications with owner were more "transactional" than friendly.
