Fompetiere is a substantial renovated stone Quercy house that is very well furnished and equipped. It is within walking distance of the village of Montaigu de Quercy, which has a good range of local shops, restaurants and leisure lake.
Situated in an elevated position it has far-reaching views, and the extensive grounds give it peace and privacy. The games room has table-tennis and a pool table. Nearest main towns: Agen and Villeneuve-sur-Lot.
Accommodation:: The main entrance opens into the charming sitting room with oak beams and stone walls, telephone, tv and stereo. The wooden floors and staircase give a warm welcoming ambiance. To the right is the dining room with long table and chairs and a large open stone fireplace. The excellent kitchen is light and fully equipped and opens onto an outside dining terrace. It has a fridge-freezer, a gas hob and an electric oven. At the rear of the kitchen is the utility/shower room with WC, basin an range of storage cupboards.
The first floor has four bedrooms, all are tastefully decorated and have lots of storage. Main double bedroom with sleigh bed. Twin bedroom. The main shower-room has a basin and WC and heated towel rail. The second twin bedroom leads into a pretty double bedroom that has an en-suite shower with basin, WC and heated towel rail.
The upper floor was the original attic and has beamed ceilings and provides a very large double bedroom that has TV for games and dvds and there is an additional double futon. Bathroom with WC, basin and heated towel rail.
The 12x6m paved pool has roman steps and a pool shower.
There is an additional dining terrace at the back of the house which enables guests to find shade/sun at all times of the day. The well-planted gardens and grounds climb up behind the house into the woodlands where guests can explore.
There is also a covered games room with table tennis and bicycles

Montaigu-de-Quercy: Was the site of a 12c castle built by Raymond V of Toulouse. Now this atmospheric lively village has a range of local shops, a typical French market each Saturday and a large leisure lake.
Fumel: Named after François de Fumel, once captain of the kings guard and Catherine de'Medici's ambassador to Constantinople, it has a good range of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and a cinema.
Villeneuve-sur-Lot: A powerful bastide on the banks of the Lot river. Founded in 1264 it has preserved a large quantity of small streets and half-timbered buildings. Close by is a superb 18 hole golf course.
Lauzerte - Magnificent historic hilltop town with a famed medieval square at its heart. Superb views across the countryside. Popular with walkers as it is on one of the 'Routes de St Jaques de Compostela'
The Lot Valley, offers a gentle beauty, it is essentially deep provincial South West France. Generally quieter than most regions, the departments covered are Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot & Dordogne. there is something is here to suit all the family, including: fishing, tennis, walking, golf, cycling, horse-riding, lake swimming, windsurfing, canoeing, and much, much, more.
Normally the area has a moderate climate with long Spring and Autumn seasons and Summers that can be very hot!
Essentially it is the heart of farming land and you can expect to see lush landscapes with spectacular fields of sunflowers, maize and tobacco and all through the year a wonderful variety of changing colours and hues.
The area is rich in wine production, with the famed Cahors AOC area nearby, and Bergerac and Bordeaux not far away. Much food is produced in the area, with many restaurants offering very reasonably priced high class cuisine for gastronauts.

Customers are asked that they ensure that they do not arrive at the property until after 4pm on the day of arrival and they must depart before 10am on the day of departure.
Linen inclusive. This includes bed linen, bathroom towels and kitchen towels. Pool towels are not included.
Rates are subject to change until reservation is confirmed.
We request a 20% deposit on booking, with the Balance, plus security deposit, due not less than 8 weeks before the Booking starts.
Security deposits refunded the week after the booking ends.
