About Bridget Allison

My husband and I were high school sweethearts and went together to ASU. I own a real estate brokerage firm in Weddington--Allison & Associates Realty and he owns a plastics profile extrusion and recycling company, Special Service Plastics in Charlotte.

Bridget Allison purchased this chalet in 2003

Why Bridget Allison chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

We have owned at least one home on Beech Mountain since our children were babies. One is a Duke graduate, another NCSU . We attended ASU and although we live in Weddington NC, you never quite get over having a mountain getaway. When we bought our first small home on Beech I used to pass this one and say :"Can you imagine owning THAT? one?" And now we are so delighted that we do. It is so peaceful, quiet, yet near the slopes and resturants. Easy access for those who can't handle steps, privacy with 4 bedrooms -- each with a private bath,

What makes this chalet unique

We love to walk, read by the fire, play board games and entertain our kids and whatever friends they bring along. It is a perfect place for a girls getaway, family, a romantic weekend listening to the rushing water fall as you dine on the deck or sleep. There is a lot of entertainment year round, gem mining, zip line, putt putt, swimming(with guest membership privileges) . Land of Oz weekend and many fine resturants.

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this very cute cabin. The beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of room for our group of 7. We loved skiing at Beech mountain and loved the 5 minute drive to the cabin as well! Thank you for such a wonderful vacation, we'll definitely be back soon!

Fun holiday stay in the mountains!

  • 4 of 5

Bridget's home was a great place for our family to gather this Thanksgiving. The ping pong & pool table was lots of fun! The layout of the house worked well even with 11 of us. We had one unexpected issue with the hot water heater, but Bridget responded quickly & was able to get it repaired within a few hours -impressive give it was a holiday. Overall, our family really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful house in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

We have been staying at Bridget's for the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games for several years. She has been continually upgrading it inside, turning it into a real gem with beautiful hardwood floors, a huge stone fireplace, new black kitchen counters added this year, and many fine details. Everything is in excellent condition. The house is situated at the corner of two quiet dirt roads, overlooking a mountain stream. It is sheltered and cool in summer and close to recreational facilities and the town center of Beech Mountain, with its restaurants and other facilities. It has four bedrooms, sleeping eight. Downstairs if you open a window you can sleep to the sound of the brook. It also has balconies on two levels overlooking the stream with ornamental iron tables and chairs for breakfast Al fresco.

Very comfortable and well kept home

  • 5 of 5

My family's first time in Beech Mountain. The listing description was accurate. The house is roomy and well furnished, with 4 bedrooms, each with a decent bathroom. No complaints about the beds. Everything was clean, and all systems were functioning. I'm not sure if there is a TV, if so, we didn't turn it on. WiFi works, and there is an eclectic stash of books. I don't think there was any air conditioning, but at about a mile elevation, it was never needed. Days were in upper 70s to low 80s, and nights in upper 50s in late June. The kitchen was useful and there is a disposal and dishwasher. Outdoor grills are on a large deck. There is a rocky stream with small cascade just behind the home, and lots of surrounding black birch. The gravel road is maintained, but got little traffic. Parking is adequate. Other houses are in the area, but not crammed together, and the area was quiet. The deck on the main level was very nice for sleeping outdoors. Mosquitoes were rare. Beech Mountain Club is a short walk or drive, but restaurants require driving. We saw deer around the home, but bears stayed out of sight, if present. A small billiard table is off level, but after a few glasses of wine, it's not bad, or ping pong is an option. Overall, highly recommended, and would book again.
