Perfect size and awesome view!
This Hood River home was perfect for our new years weekend getaway. Its a short distance from downtown and was the perfect size for the 4 of us. We hope to come back in the summer.
Great house for an adventure weekend
This house was perfect for a long weekend with our little one. Plenty of space, nice kitchen setup, and gorgeous views. I hope we have the chance to return to this little place soon!
Great view of the river and convenient location
I rented the house for a full month and was really happy with the location and amenities. The house is located in a quiet area in the heights and has a great view of the river. Sipping a glass of wine or a beer on the deck adds to the coziness of this house. There is a steep walk to the main road but it's not that bad. Restaurants, pubs and coffee shops are within walking distance. Wifi is spotty but that's a general issue in the Hood River area. All in all it is a great property!
Clean and well maintained with a Nice View of the River.
The description of the property was accurate with regards to location, amenities, and the layout. The property was clean and quiet at night. The Owner provided excellent customer service and information about the town and things to do. I would recommend this property.
Great cottage with easy walking downtown access
Just finished 5 days' kiteboarding at HR with a friend. The Gorge Hideaway was great for the two of us. Beautiful deck from which to keep an eye on the river action. Easy short walk to downtown restaurants. Even walking to the event site is only 20 minutes. The super steep driveway looks like it might be challenging in cold weather. Frequent train noise during the night, but that would be the case in any downtown HR site. It didn't really bother me though. I'd return to this nice cottage again.
Great view and awesome deck!
This really is a Gorge hideaway! The location is central but the property is secluded and separated from neighbours by trees. You overlook Hood River and the marina and the wrap around deck is one of this property's best features. We loved it!
The house was fairly cottage-like and well appointed with small amenities and very tidy. The property manager was also very attentive.
Two small items to be aware of: no dishwasher and a VERY steep driveway. Neither are a big deal, but the driveway would be problematic for anyone with mobility issues.
You can walk to town as long as you don't mind a bit of an uphill trudge or taking the 2nd street stairs home. Very convenient.
The place is great but not overly fancy (hence four stars not five) and the view and deck make it very worthwhile.
We will likely book again.
