The suite features a private entrance, two large bedrooms, private bathroom with a clawfoot tub/shower, sunporch living room and mezzanine library with a gas fireplace. Throughout the entire suite, the woodworking, tiling, artwork and ceramics were conceived, designed and created by the artists who work here. About Wayne

We stumbled on this property in 1987. Through the blackberry brambles she sang to us, and we saw the unique character of the property. We have spent the last 30 years restoring the 1890 farmstead to the grace and beauty of another time by hand-building every detail of the house and grounds.

We cherish our ability to live every day in a place that inspires us, and allows us to hone our crafts while living our ideals.

Wayne purchased this farmhouse in 1987

Why Wayne chose Woodstock

Lonesomeville is an artist studio located in the original Blampede farmstead of the Woodstock neighborhood in Portland. Originating from the 1890's, the farmstead features an acre of manicured gardens surrounding the main farmhouse, a lofted barn and original water tower - all providing a completely private, quite respite for our guests from the activity and hubbub of life in the urban core of the Portland.

If you are looking for the best of both a rural and urban experience, there is nothing quite like this place. As one of our visitors recently said, "it's like entering another world." There are infinite ways to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the farmstead, whether it's a quiet evening around the fire, or morning coffee on one of the verandas - inspiration is everywhere. What makes this farmhouse unique

Lonesomeville is located 50 blocks from the heart of the city. The nearby village of Woodstock is a quick stroll from our studio, through the historic Woodstock Park. You will find the village full of great amenities such as a wide variety of restaurants, a weekend farmers markets, numerous coffee shops and bakeries. New Seasons and Trader Joe's are also a short walk away. The surrounding neighborhood is a uniquely quiet and safe to visit and offers the best of both urban and rural worlds. We are also 15 minutes from Reed College.

Maximum Charm!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a weekend just my husband, myself and our 2.5yo son. The space is absolutely brimming with charm, every single nook and cranny is artfully tended to and hand crafted. I knew from the photos that this was a lovely place but we had no idea...everywhere you look there are whimsical, artistic touches. I've never stayed in a space as lovingly and creatively curated as this home. The owners were warm and accommodating and available for whatever we needed. They spoiled us with the abundance of life's little comforts like delicious french press coffee, cozy linens, and a garden for our son to frolic in. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the entire property a peaceful sanctuary. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others it is truly one of a kind and special!

FAB-U-LOUS cozy retreat

  • 5 of 5

My husband ,teen daughter and I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing locale to visit our son at Reed. Wayne and Danny are amazingly thoughtful hosts who provided extra welcoming goodies for our stay. Their art show and sale was a delightful bonus. We were inspired to sleep in, do a puzzle and bake cookies - the owners are great; readily available ( interesting to talk to), but not intrusive. The attention to detail in the house ( a work art for any restoration buffs) is unparalleled. We will be back.( perhaps in time for their annual spring art show to buy more cool art). The website needs to be updated to show the Halloween sculptures they created in the front yard- really gave a great seasonal feel to our visit.

Can't wait to come back!

  • 5 of 5

Wayne and Danny are the best. What a fabulous job they've done on this incredible home. No stone unturned, everything was picture perfect. But it does not begin to describe they're hospitality. We so enjoyed talking with them about the restoration, gardens, their art studio, the neighborhood and how its changed. They had lots of suggestions on where to eat, where to go and what to do depending on what you like. Very genuine, relaxing...awesome stay! And great coffee!😊?Thank you for having us. Can't wait to visit again. The Gibson's

Peace, quiet and paradise

Our stay at Lonesomeville, Woodstock, was wonderful. The farmhouse and gardens are beautiful, warm and welcoming. Our hosts/owners could not have been more courteous, gracious and friendly. Lonesomeville is definitely a must to make a vacation perfect.

Five Plus Plus Stars

  • 5 of 5

I've traveled the world and this urban garden oasis has been one of the most memorable and enjoyable. The owners took much pride and care in making sure everything was perfect and that our stay was comfortable.

Not one detail was over-looked. From the coffee mugs which were handmade works of art, to the delicious coffee, treats in the refrigerator, fully stacked pantry, they made us feel like we were home. "Lonesomeville" is anything but lonesome. It's a sun filled, architecturally beautiful place surrounded by flowers and beautiful native plants. I could tell it was a labor of love for both home owners.

Lonesomeville is both a destination and the place to stay even if you only have a weekend to see the city of Portland.

Wayne & Danny welcome visitors to their art studio and it's a wonderful experience to watch their creative energy in progress. I left with both beautiful pottery and great memories!
