About Greg Spencer
Oregonian Greg Spencer initially discovered the Blue Ridge area on a backpacking trip to the Cohutta Wilderness in the 1980’s. A short time later, enamored of the area, and the incredible recreational opportunities, Greg began to explore the potential for purchasing raw mountain land, and developing uniquely designed and hand-crafted cabins, taking full advantage of stunning views and a quarter mile of Toccoa River frontage. The 17 acre project has been a labor of love for Dana Spencer as well, who manages all reservations, accounting, housekeeping, and decorating. Other properties include a four unit (circa 1908) apartment building in downtown Blue Ridge, along with a Florida swamp property, on the Withlacoochee River. What began as an adventure has now become a steady endeavor that Greg and Dana manage, by bringing their individually unique talents to the table.
Greg Spencer purchased this Cabin in 1991
Why Greg Spencer chose Blue Ridge
Since our 16-acre property spans over 1200 feet of Toccoa River frontage and consists of a peninsula created by a horseshoe bend in the river, we are surrounded by water on three sides. We are close to town, yet secluded and private. We offer four distinct and private rental cabins. The cabins are all walking distance from each other and can be booked together, making Toccoa House Properties an ideal destination for large groups. Combined, our cabins sleep 40 (13 bedrooms, 11 full baths, 2 half baths).
What makes this Cabin unique
The Toccoa House is our largest accommodation, with three levels and room for 14 to sleep comfortably. The Grey Heron House is our next largest cabin, sleeping 10 on three levels. The Carriage House is our mid-sized rental cabin which sleeps 6. The Riverside Cabin is our smallest cabin, with room for two right on the banks of the Toccoa River

Great cabin in a perfect location
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was big enough so that everyone had their own area but nice to be all together. The property is great. Downtown Blue Ridge is only 10 minutes away. I would stay here again in the future.
Splendid Property for a Family Gathering
Our daughter wanted to have a small "immediate family only wedding" and additionally spend the weekend together in a cabin in the mountains, enjoying the many available activities near Blue Ridge. (Mercier Orchard, wineries, breweries, shopping in Blue Ridge) and "bond". We selected this cabin and could not have been happier with our choice. We also rented the Riverside Cabin for the "honeymoon couple". We found the arrangement to be perfect. Seating for 12 at the dining table is rare, but was most appreciated. Kitchen was clean and reasonably well equipped. Having 2 dishwashers made it easy to clean up. A second fridge in the basement was helpful. Beds were comfortable. Indoor & outdoor games, fire ring, salt-water pool and hot-tub were some of the activities we enjoyed on the property. Very beautiful area near the river was to be the site for the wedding, but intermittent showers threatened, so we used the covered patio with the river view and it was wonderful. Other cabins are nearby if you wanted even a larger gathering. Owners did an excellent job of communicating and advised us with arrangements for caterer, photographer, etc. Cabins are well stocked with TP, garbage bags, soap, towels, etc. We definitely hope to return!
What a great cabin
We spent a long weekend here and it was perfect. Very spacious. It was nice to find a cabin with space to play yard games. It’s close to town and the roads up to the cabin are not bad at all. Easy check in and out. Everyone in our group was ready to plan the next get away back to the Toccoa House.
Beautiful house in gorgeous setting.
This house is everything it is advertised to be. The setting is gorgeous, and the house itself is spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed the views, the pool table, the hot tub, and proximity to Blue Ridge. The water was a little too high for good fishing, but getting to the river was no problem.
Very nice cabin
Our group enjoyed our stay greatly. The cabin is well appointed and in a good location. Great for a large group.
Had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Great sitting areas, complete kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms. It was rainy so we didn’t really use the outdoor facilities.
