Budget Friendly, Luxury Suite W/kitchette On The North Shore Of Kauai
About West Flato
Married. Retired school administrator and husband, real estate agent from San Diego. Owned in Sandpiper since 2009. We have one daughter living in Houston, Tx, married w/3 boys. We are loving Kauai! Hope you will too!
West Flato purchased this Condo in 2009
Why West Flato chose Princeville
We had vacationed here several times and chose Sandpiper because of its old Hawaiiana style, the amenities, and location on the North Shore. The vegetation is very lush, the song birds are plentiful, the condos are kept up nicely, and its one of the few with a big pool, spa, and BBQ in the same area. Good for entertaining and relaxing. Also the lanais are of the largest of any condos in the area, expanding your outdoor living. We have a sunset view, and the studio is considered a garden apt. even though we are nicely located on the 2nd floor. We are located in the “quiet” section of Sandpiper.

Cute and clean, 2nd floor, kitchen well supplied, but no sink. Washing dishes in the bathroom sink was inconvenient, but not a deal breaker.
When we were in the planning stages of turning our extra bedroom into a rental we thought, “what would people enjoy and want that they can’t get in a resort and pay less?” For $75/day you get a separate entrance, separate bathroom, kitchenette, large tv/WiFi/expanded cable tv, tile floors, cathedral ceilings and a comfortable bed. Then we added beach things like: chairs, umbrella, cooler, snorkel and fins. All this for $75/day?
Guess it worked because our guests love it, we are booked solid, and the price is right!
We welcome guests’ thoughts on how to improve and love to hear about what they enjoyed. But, really, add an extra sink for dishes? I know, “everything but the kitchen sink!” We even added air conditioning so guests would come home to cool, clean, comfortable place after being at the beach all day! Much Aloha!
Very small but nice place
The location is amazing and beautiful. The room is very small studio with bathroom and kitchenette. There is no AC ... and it gets very warm. They have provided 4 fans which helps.
We loved it, small and cozy.
Great Price, Great Stay and Great Location
We stayed for 10 days and West’s place was great! Don’t let the no ac scare you, the fans help tons and we had no problem sleeping in the summer! Thanks again for a great place to stay on such a beautiful part of the island!
This was a great accommodation for the price.
We enjoyed our stay in the Princeville area. This rental was close to great beaches and hiking activities. It had everything we needed but it was warm for sleeping. The fans helped.
Great spot with easy walking distance to explore some lovely beaches. Comfortable little pad.
A Kauai Visitors' Guide ("The Blue Book") is provided and for your use while in residence with us. You'll find it very useful in locating different beaches all over the island. All kinds of activities are elaborated on and it is truly a guide to the Island. You will be surprised how centrally located our condo is to all the recreation the North Shore has to offer. The closest beach is 5 min away and there are several in that range. Hanalei Town is 7 min away over a one way bridge. It offers the most places to dine and shop on the North Shore. Several beaches are near by that you can just drive up to the water and set up camp. It's a very relaxed, island style of living and a comfortable way to enjoy all the North Shore has to offer. (Example: Drive right up to the beach and put your kayak, paddle board, surf board right in the water!) Island Style!
