Sturgeon Bay Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Our year-round log home is situated approximately eight miles southeast of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. It is within walking distance of two beautiful public beaches and two lighthouses. The cabin is surrounded by six and a half acres of quiet solitude and abundant wildlife. Along with the furnished kitchen, we supply our renters with wood for the fireplace and outside firepit, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, kleenex), coffee filters, dishwashing liquid, various cleaning products. We feel that the environment is perfect for your pets.

Because we are situated on six acres, the privacy we offer is just what you may need to unwind from your busy life. The stars on a clear night are awesome. The sound of the waves from Lake Michigan (two blocks away) is soothing. We provide our guests with a 'small' bottle of wine as a welcoming gift. Door County, for those not familiar with its long history of hospitality, will not be disappointed in the beautiful surroundings, wonderful restaurants, numerous parks, quaint villages and breathtaking sunrises or sunsets.

Wonderful and Peaceful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We love the Sunrise Shores Log Cabin. We have stayed there for the last four years for up to a month at a time. Our favorite part of the cabin is its setting. There are very few houses on the small loop road and some days only a few cars go by. It is perfect for long walks and bike rides. Our dog also loves being there. She enjoys all the wonderful sniffs in the surrounding woods. It is peacefulness personified. It really is a way to get away from all the distractions and noise of our daily lives. During our summer stays we spent long hours sitting on the porch, watching, the birds. In the fall we loved sitting in front of a cozy fire with a good book (lots of great books there). We felt we were just the right distance from Stirgeon Bay and the rest of Door County. It was our perfect getaway and we can't wait to go back.

It was ok

  • 2 of 5

The cabin was cute and cozy but there surely wasn't a beach close by- all the beaches we went to were private. Huge let down. The cabin wasn't as clean as I would like. It did have nearly everything you would want or need for a week of vacation. Too far from town and stores. Fireplace was great, and lots of firewood to keep us warm and make puggie pies and s'mores on chilly evenings. Sorry we won't return. WiFi would be great and no cell service wasn't good for a person that needs it.

Awesome property

  • 5 of 5

We did a five day fishing trip with two other couples. Even though the weather did not cooperate, the accommodations were excellent. With six adults, it was very comfortable. There were even more beds in the basement. We enjoyed having our coffee on the porch, beautiful flowers surrounding the place, with critters running all around. I never got tired of looking at the decor, checking out each piece. The kitchen was well stocked. We commented never been anywhere with everything you needed in a kitchen. Each night a couple made dinner and it was better than going out. We brought our Labrador and he was very comfortable. The place was clean and well maintained. The owners were very nice and easy to work with. It is close to town. Enjoyed this wonderful cabin and hope to visit again.

Can't wait to come back for another week.

We spent our vacation this year at this wonderful cabin. Our stay was the last week of July 2014. We had 4 people and it was perfect. The cabin could easily accommodate more people. The pictures here are very nice but honestly they don’t do the cabin and outdoor area justice.

It was exactly as stated and we would highly recommend this property. We loved that it is nestled in the middle of 6 gorgeous wooded acres. The wrap around porch is beautiful and we spent time each morning sitting on it just soaking up the peace and quiet. You can literally hear the dew falling off the trees. The air is fresh and clean and the temps perfect since the lake is so close. We loved watching the squirrels and birds also. Both love to make their appearance on the porch. Pretty wild flowers attract butterflies and it’s pretty easy to feel you have gotten away from work, traffic and all the other distractions of daily life. When I saw the rocking chairs on the porch I just knew we had picked the right place!! Also loved the bonfire pit and the outdoor patio. For us this atmosphere was exactly what we wanted.

We brought plenty of books, games and a puzzle to spend time on but we hardly touched them. Never watched a movie or thought to turn the TV on, we were far too busy each day and never even got to explore all we wanted during the week. We went hiking, rented bikes, toured the lighthouse, walked on the beaches, shopped at Fish Creek, went to Cave Point, tried the local restaurants, went cherry picking, took in the side walk sales and were lucky enough to have the county fair in Sturgeon Bay the week we were there. We enjoyed every minute.

The owner was wonderful and so helpful. We hope to stay a week next summer as well to do all the things we didn’t have time to fit in. Highly recommended.

Lovely cabin and super quiet

  • 5 of 5

We rented this place for 4 nights in July. The cabin was beyond our expectations. It was remote, which was great for my husband who hates crowds. He was fishing the salmon tournament and I was hoping this was a way for my son and his girlfriend to all stay and not camp. It wasn't convenient for fishing, but the weather was such that he couldn't fish anyway. So close to Sturgeon Bay! We had a great time here with campfires and cooking out. The kitchen is small, but it worked. The owners did think of everything you might need. This was our first VRBO and we will definitely do this again. Awesome place if you want quiet and relaxation, but being close to the action.
