A memorable holiday in a Medieval Town atmosphere
Franca Maria Capone

About Franca Maria Capone
Il Torrino is the house where I was born and I grew up. This house belongs to our family for over a century and it is the result of the work of four generations. I am Maria Franca and together with my brother and sons we menage this holiday-home.
Franca Maria Capone purchased this House in 1896
Why Franca Maria Capone chose Barberino Val D'elsa
My brother and I decided to rent out this house and other 2 apartments because we already have our houses where we live with our families. These are apartments that our family has acquired, preserved, and valued over time, and we would like our guests to appreciate our Town and our historic and charming apartments.
What makes this House unique
After many restoration, the house Il Torrino is still characterized by many historic peculiarities such as the wooden ceiling and the kitchen in the medieval tower.

Absolutely loved staying here. Plenty of space for 4 adults, able to cook meals if we wanted. Incredible views. Loved the experience of staying in a castle. Restaurant next door one of the best we had in italy. Enjoyed wine bar with a very short walking distance. Bernadette was a great host and gave us suggestions for some locals only sites. Great location for exploring Tuscany
The most breathtaking place to stay - a Tuscan beauty
This historic house right in the middle of the old town, was adorable. Just as you see in the photos. Great location, surrounded by local restaurants, amongst the locals, right next door to Al Fresco dining, amazing pizza's and pasta with fresh produce, beside a beautiful church and surrounded by hills and gorgeous views - what more could you ask for. Our host, Benedetta and her wonderful Mother, Franco Maria were just delightful. I recommend the cooking class run by Benedetta's mother. She showed us how to cook wonderful authentic Tuscan food - very delicious. Close to all amenities in the area, stone throw from San Gimignano where there is good shopping and worth a visit to Certaldo Old town at the top of the hill, reached by a vunicular. I would also recommend the 4x4 off road tour run by Jonny from Off Road Tour SSD through AirBnB. We had the most enjoyable time here spending 5 days in the region. Thank you so much Benedetta for making our stay the best part of our holiday. Martha x
Somewhat of a lengthy drive from the Pisa Airport but well worth it ! What a wonderful , delightful stay - and the pizza 🍕 at the nearby restaurant is stupendous !
Beautiful home in a breathtaking location!
This beautiful house is located in a perfect location to enjoy the countryside of Italy. We spent a day in Florence (2o minutes by car + 20 minutes by train) and another driving around to small towns in the area. The restaurant beside the house was our favorite in all of Italy! We hope to return someday! Thank you!!
A Lovely Home Located in the Middle of Tuscany
This is a lovely historic home filled with many happy family memories. It was very clean. Benedetta was darling and very easy to contact. The location was perfect - right in the middle of the Tuscany region. We had a very enjoyable visit in Barbarino.
Wonderful stay - We all loved the house and the location.
A great place to stay, the house was very comfortable, our hostess Bernadetta was very charming, providing us with lots of information on what to see and do in the area. The location was incredible, the town is beautiful and local restaurants particularly the one across the street were excellent.
I am very happy you enjoyed your stay in Our family house.
All the best to all of you.

However Barberino is not just a stopping point on the way to important towns: the village has its own wine and food, cultural and artistic peculiarities.
Below some short tours in the countryside of Barberino Val d'Elsa:
1)Barberino, S. Lorenzo,Vagliano, Marcialla
2)Monsanto, Paneretta, Cepparello
3)Petrognano, Semifonte, S. Donnino
4) Linari, Vico, Certaldo
Vineyards and olive trees are one of the main engines of the local economy. Our grapes produce Chianti Classico, Chianti Colli Fiorentini, Chianti DOCG and our olives produce one of the best extra-virgin olive oil.
The wine cellars of Giannozzi, Pasolini, Poggio al Bosco will be glad to offer you their genuine and traditional products.
Barberino is the perfect location for couples or families who want to relax theirselves and spend their holidays in a quiet and welcoming atmosphere of a small Tuscan town, apart from big commercial tourist centres, which are often crowded and noisy. Barberino, with a population of just one thousand people, is a restful place both for villagers and visitors.
Even if Barberino is a small village, it offers many facilities: there is a restaurant, an excellent Italian pizzeria, Café Bijou with free wi-fi, a bakery open every day, the supermarket Coop, the village library with Internet-point, free of charge parkings close to the apartment. Public transport services link Barberino to close towns. Lastly, it is possible to have walking and mountain bike tours, horseback riding vacations, as well as guided tours to the village wine cellars.
