Down in the Wood Cottage is an idyllic, rural retreat on the rolling South Wiltshire Downs. Set centrally on our family, arable farm and grain store, the cottage has its own private lane beyond the farmhouse and ample parking.
A traditional brick and flint cottage that has recently been refurbished, offers a lovely large kitchen/diner with patio door to the garden, triple aspect sitting room, utility, cloakroom, boot room and double bedroom downstairs with King size bed. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms, Bedroom 1 has a King size bed and a Single with an en suite shower room, Bedroom 2 has Single Bunk beds, Bedroom 3 has a Single bed and a family bathroom with shower over the bath. The pretty informal garden is fenced, with garden furniture and a see-saw.
With great access directly off the A303, but with a mile drive in so you would not even know it was there, it is a perfect touring location. It is a haven to return to after a busy day exploring the local attractions like, Longleat, Stonehenge, Stourhead and the historical cities of Bath and Salisbury. We are surrounded by a huge network of footpaths to explore in spectacular countryside, offering far reaching views and an abundance of wildlife with deer, hare and badgers often visiting the garden.
Our preferred bookings are from Friday to Friday and a minimum 7 night stay, although please contact us if you would like to enquire about a shorter stay and we will see what we can do. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
