About Helen Farthing

Hello I'm Helen, I deal with all enquiries and I keep the Boathouse to a high standard. I am continually tweaking the property to make sure your stay is comfortable and memorable.

Moved to the Lake District in 1989 from Lincolnshire and I still marvel at the views. I enjoy being outside and make use of the lake and mountains.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Lovely home-from-home with great view!

  • 5 of 5

We were four adults sharing for a week, with spectacular weather.

Beautifully presented, with thoughtful welcome pack. Consideration was given to our comfort in the heat of summer, with extra fans and appropriate bedding.

Level access to the whole property was great for elderly parents, with limited mobility.

Overall a very enjoyable week.

Very well equipped and in a good location for exploring the lakes.

We were so lucky to have only part of one day with rain with the remainder in sunshine. It was nice to be able to revisit old haunts and see friends who live there. All in all a lovely short break

Made use of the water sports shop next door went out on the lake a few times on the kayaks great fun the boat house is perfect location to walk to bowness just a ten to fifteen minute walk away. Had some lovely meals at the ship inn good food at a reasonable price. This is the first time we have visited a property in the lakes for a second time and we come to the lake district three or four times a year this is how good osprey boat house is thank you Helen for another perfect holiday and for the lovely welcome pack on arrival hope to see you again soon Woodhouse and Swan family 28/07/17

Stunning location. Fantastically equipped lodge

  • 5 of 5

We hired the boathouse to say goodbye to a friend who is emigrating and celebrate a couple of birthdays. The location and views are stunning- such a peaceful and relaxing spot. The boathouse is well equipped and well furnished with lovely personal finishing touches to help your stay get off to a great start. I am sure we will return. We loved it.

Wonderful birthday weekend at Osprey Boat House

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend break at Osprey Boat House. The accommodation has delightful views, is very well equipped and cosy for the cooler days.

Helen very kindly also surprised us with a welcome pack to include a bottle of champagne as it was my birthday on our arrival day.

So much to see within walking distance and very well placed for touring the rest of the lakes.

I can highly recommend and we hope to return one day!
