Absolutely perfect getaway!
We have nothing but great things to say about the Boyakaye Bungalow and our stay in Martinique. It's perfect! We loved the ti punch upon arrival and the peaceful forest setting, as we felt like we were truly removed from the rest of the world, but the beach is only a 5min walk away down the hill. Danielle was kind and helpful with everything from restaurant and grocery store recommendations to funny stories.
A few things to know about Martinique in general: 1) rent a car; 2) don't expect that you'll be able to get by speaking English only, but a little French goes a long way; 3) don't expect hotel-type accommodations. We were happy in every way, but this is an open air bungalow with birds, sounds, a few mosquitos, etc, and you'll find that most places on the island are the same. Lovely.
Thanks a lot for your kind comments.
I'm always happy to host Americans and practise my English.
You were perfect tenants too, discreet and very easily satisfied!
Come back soon!
Gorgeous open-air bungalow like a set from The Thomas Crown Affair. Self contained kitchen where we cooked dinner, mosquito net for evenings (remember to tuck it in) lush garden full of hummingbirds and a deck with a view of the ocean. Owner was lovely, even baked us a special treat to celebrate Christmas. Beach 2 minute walk down a hill. Ate at the restaurant down the hill and bought baguettes nearby - a perfect getaway.
Peaceful and gorgeous bungalow
We stayed 3 nights at Daniele's gorgeous bungalow located right on the beautiful Grande Anse d'Arlet. We found the bungalow exactly as it is shown on the pictures, clean and modern. It is a very well made and beautiful place to stay with a typical Martinique flair and the amazing view on the water from the balcony is a huge bonus. The beach and restaurants/bars are walking distance, we would strongly recommend to stay at Daniele's place. A side note, just make sure to bring your mosquito spray.
Thaks so much Clémence for this appreciation. We're looking forward to seeing you again!
bungalow Marinique Anse d'Arlet
This had to be made in heaven. Everything here was so beautiful, the view from the deck, the cleanliness of the cottage and the owners were perfect hosts. From the minute we entered the bungalow it was wonderful, fresh flowers and fruit, and of course ti punch! I would totally recommend to anyone, put this on your bucket list of places to go. Everything was close too, only about a 20 minute drive to a large grocery store, there are numerous restaurants within 5 minutes, and Daniele will give you the low down on them all too. Be sure to bring snorkel gear, the fins aren't a necessity but the mask and snorkel, the fish are amazing. Just like swimming in an aquarium. Only one thing that I had a hard time adjusting to, the lack of ice, I guess I required too much, all the time! Be sure to stay longer than a week, that is just not long enough!
Quel merveilleux endroit !
Fantastic accommodation and location!
F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S! M.A.G.N.I.F.I.Q.U.E! A.W.E.S.O.M.E! Gorgeous view of the bay and boats from the deck from which to enjoy meals, punch and wine. Well designed, comfortable and excellently built bungalow and fully equipped for self- catering. Very relaxing environment with beautifully planted and lush garden. Daniele and Franck live in a beautiful house just below the bungalow. They were warm, friendly and welcoming. We were welcomed with a pitcher of juice and rum to make our own Ti Punch - a fantastic introduction to their wonderful hospitality. They also kindly offered us the use of their pontoon for swimming. Nice sandy beach is below the bungalow and only a few minutes walk. Quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. Small grocery stores and restaurants a few minutes drive away or you can walk. We also saw their newly completed suite which just became available for rent - it is also stunning! Highly recommended and we will return! Thank you so very much for a most incredible and memorable stay, Daniele and Franck!
After a 3 minutes walk on our private lane, you will be on the beach ( very secure for the children). From the bungalow, and not far ther than 10 kms away, you can choose between 5 very different but equally beautiful.beaches: the very fine beach of Anses d'arlet ( restaurantson the beach), the very secluded Anse Noire and Anses Dufour, anse à Lane and Anse mitan in Trois Ilets where you can go shopping and visit La pagerie Museum, (home to the Empress Josephine) or theb sugar cane museum. From grande anse beach, you can go snorkelling (not far away is a famous diving site) or do scuba diving with our vfriend Philippo '(Abyss plongée'). Turtles can often be seen in the bay. You can get a chance to see dolphins on a boat tour from la Pointe du Bout in Trois ilets. Ther is also a nice walk to do from the bungalow up the hill (morne Champagne) and down to the village of anses d'Arlet. And on Sunday night, enjoy the live concerts in the open air in a typical tropical house and garden at 'Ti sable'.
