About Becky Lewis

We have had this house in our family since the mid 1960's, when my mother decided to build on this little piece of heaven she discovered getting lost one day in Harwich. All our holidays were spent there--it is nice even in the winter. It served as a place for our family to come together. In fact, my husband's family lived across the street and we met while wind surfing on the pond many years ago.

Becky Lewis purchased this house in 1967

Why Becky Lewis chose Harwich - Harwichport

It is our place to get together as a family...and extended family. Being directly on the lake makes time spent there, canoe rides, paddle board rides and swimming of course. The location is also central to many other wonderful areas on the Cape.

What makes this house unique

Again, being in the spacious house, winter or summer, with swimming and boating in the summer and long walks on the beach in the winter, make it our homeport.

Exceeded my expectations-Hidden Jewel

  • 4 of 5

The few photos on the website do not do it justice. The house was extremely well equipped. The deck is large, great for relaxing and entertaining with a beautiful view. The location was perfect for whatever you want to do. My brother caught a fish while canoeing on the pond within 1 min of casting. We rented bikes from Barbs in Brewster and went on the bike path. Brax Landing has a nice outdoor deck for lunch/dinner and drinks. The Sand Dollar bar had live entertainment and was a lively fun bar. My friends and family all had a great time and would love to return next summer.

Lake front family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our week in this holiday home, it's location was perfect for our family with 3 children who spent many hours swimming and exploring the lake- an absolute bonus to have water activities 'on the door step'. The house itself was clean and had every amenity we needed. Convenient supermarket just down the road too. Whilst we found the Cape itself a little frustrating with many beaches designated 'private' and car parking space really difficult to find at beaches plus longer distances between points of interest than we anticipated, the house itself was easy and more than catered to our requirements. I would recommend this rental.

Owner's Response: Thanks, we really enjoy the location and the pond when the rest of the Cape is so busy.

Fresh water lake on property; Atlantic beaches
Car: necessary

Our house is directly on the lake (John Joseph Pond) with its own beach. The deck is very large and allows for playing and sitting and sunning, as well as having most meals al fresco! Close by you'll find the Cape Cod Rail Trail for biking and the Cranberry Golf Course within a mile of the house.

One of the nicest days you could have there, one we have frequently when we are there, is to go to Skaket Beach, a Cape Cod Bay beach in Orleans, for a long low tide walk or high tide swim in peaceful salt water, then come home to the pond and take a fresh water dip.
