This beautifully appointed vacation home is located in Piedra Viva a 10 unit Italian built condominium. Complete with swimming pool, security and parking this is an intimate development with graceful architecture, soothing colours and design.
The main level of the condo features two bedrooms each with a queen bed and crafted built in closets. The living room is decorated in caramels and creams with colorful accents. The three balconies, two overlooking a quiet side street, the other the pool and courtyard bring lots of natural light to the living space. The fully equipped kitchen has a sit up bar for casual dining and cocktails.
The upper level of Vista de Oro boasts a spectacular 600 sq ft private rooftop terrace offering lounge chairs for sunning and a lovely outdoor dining arrangement with large flower boxes and lighting options to complement. Adjacent to the terrace is the third bedroom with twin beds with a two piece bath and outdoor shower.
The building is on a peaceful sidestreet yet only steps away from famous 5th Ave and all the wonderful restaurants, nightlife and shopping that has made Playa del Carmen such a sought after destination.
Head to the beach two blocks away and you'll find the clear waters of the Caribbean, Mamita’s Beach Club, friendly beach bars and a full range of water-based activities.
Hola - We have been enjoying our place in Mexico for 10 years now but rent out more often as we have been recently made grandparents! We were Innkeepers in the lake district North of Toronto, Ontario Canada until just 3 years ago. I miss having guests so please enjoy all Playa del Carmen has to offer and stay in our home away from home.
James Orr purchased this condo in 2006
This is a lively town with something for everyone. International in flavour, low rise and with the pedestrian 5 Av everything is easily accessible. We love it!
Our family of 5 stayed recently in this lovely condo. We arrived at night, opened the lockbox and were quickly inside. There is a well-stocked kitchen, large living room with flat screen TV (we found lots of english speaking channels), and 2 bedrooms with comfortable queen sized beds. There were lots of beach towels supplied; and 2 camp chairs. It would have been nice to have beach chairs that we would have carried to the beach with us. We cooked breakfast daily in the condo and spent the rest of the day on the beach. Back for a quick shower and out for supper at one of the many nearby restaurants. We had a problem with the gas on the first morning and the local property manager was on site within minutes. They also responded to emails very quickly. We had a late flight home and were able to stay in the condo until our shuttle pick-up at 6 pm. James was very easy to deal with during the reservation process and we loved the location of the condo. We'd definitely consider this rental for another stay!
Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay at piedra viva. The beds are very comfy, there are ample towels, the kitchen is well stocked with every appliance/tool you will need-easy to eat in if you feel
Iike it. The rooms are beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The location is fantastic-close to the beach and 5th ave, easy access to many wonderful restaurants and easy day trips. We ended each day's adventure with a cool dip in the pool and a lovely drink on the rooftop terrace before heading out for a delicious dinner.
James was always available to answer any questions and make recommendations.
What a lovely place!
We could not have asked for more! James, the owner, was so helpful and made the whole rental experience easy. The condo was clean and ready for us, and there were plenty of linens. We even had large, fluffy beach towels. The building itself was very secure, and the other tenants were friendly. Mornings were spent taking leisurely walks to various breakfast spots or just grabbing a delicious mocha at Ah Cacao. The one at the corner of 5th Avenue and Constitution had the best staff. Afternoons were for beach walks or sightseeing. Mamita's Beach had the most reasonable rentals for chairs and umbrellas, and the food there was good, too. Evenings were always fun because you could choose from many restaurants. La Parilla has a tasty shrimp enchillada (my husband's favorite), and Karen's Pizza has a shrimp ceviche that is like no other. Karen's Pizza also offers beautiful wooden flute and guitar music. Wah Wah's has a huge bar, a dance floor, live music, and evening beach entertainment. If you're an art lover, you'll also enjoy the artists that display their work in the evening along 5th Avenue.
If sightseeing is what you want, take the ferry to Cozumel, rent a car, and head for the far side of the island. The view is spectacular! You should stop at the Mayan ruins of San Gervasio; it's well worth seeing. For the best experience, pay the extra money and get a private guide. Then make your way to Coconuts for a late lunch. The food and drinks are excellent! Of course, the coast of the Yucatan offers many special places. Some of my favorites are Paa Mul (luncheon visit), Xcaret (all day), and Tulum & Coba (all day excursion). This was our 30th visit to the Yucatan, and for us, it never gets old, it only gets better! We can honestly recommend Vista De Oro to future guests.
For our 1st time in Playa...this condo was better than any expectations ! I would call it A delighted surprise with its...very stylish and cozy interior design, the quality of the beds and its italian architecture ! The roof terrace and the very refreshing pool was the perfect match ! And we must tell how much the community living there was very helpful for any advice or recommendation...we felt home ! This condo made our family's holidays unforgettable ! Amazing owners...you put a lot of love in this place. Merci a thousand times !
Third floor condo with three balconies plus huge terrace directly above on fourth floor. Everything was very clean, bed was comfortable. There is even one parking spot if you rent a car.
It is less than 5 minute walk to a couple of beach clubs on the north end of town. It is about 15-20 minute walk to the ferry, bus station and beach on the south end. Less than 10 minute walk to the grocery store.
My only complaints would be that there is no laundry on site, and the swimming pool doesn't get much sun. All in all, though, a great place to stay.
Thank you James for the use of your condo! Everything was as stated. A lovely, airy, spacious condo with fantastic location! Loved sitting on balconies or rooftop, listening to street sounds and mariachi bands! Comfortable beds, large kitchen area with all your necessities, and spacious living room - this condo works great for two with enough room for 6! The pool is delightful with hardly any use. There are steps to this condo but really not an issue. Close to shopping, the best restaurants, and ocean beach clubs! We love this area of Playa. We would not hesitate to rent from James again. Very easy to work with. Any problems or questions are quickly addressed. You just can't beat this rental!
The Mayan Riviera offers an abundant choice of activities. Cenote exploring, snorkeling and diving, swimming with sea turtles and dolphins, Mayan ruins, Xcaret theme park with Zip line, Jungle adventures and much more
