Wishing I was back in Killaloe in this amazing home

  • 5 of 5

It does not get better than this! This home is fabulous and the view, spectacular. We came for a week from the US. 5 Adults and 3 teenagers so we used the extra room in addition to the main house. The house is spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need for a big group.

The view from the house, the lovely patio and gorgeous big windows means that this house would be perfect to relax in if you didn't want to leave, but the location lends itself to daily excursions to different places each day. Several times we packed a picnic in a basket from the kitchen and went out for the day. We went to the Cliffs of Moher one day and Dingle another day. There are plenty of good shops in the village, for groceries and souvenirs. The little market has some really delicious cheese and specialty foods and there was live Irish music while we were there. There are boat trips you can take on the lough, and a nice pub right down by the water. The road up to the house is a single lane and the driveway up to the house is very steep! But I got used to it quickly and it was worth it for that view!!

The week we were there (July 2014) the weather was perfect, in fact 2 in our party even had a little sun burn! We slept with the windows open every night and woke to the distant gentle sounds of the sheep and cows in the nearby fields. I absolutely cannot wait to be able to go back, but in the meantime I hope you'll go and have the same experience we did.
