2 bedroom loft apartment + full kitchen/dining facilities, lounges & restaurant.

A comfortable 70m² 2 bedroom apartment in a detached property with large garden. In the heart of skiing/hiking area of Garmisch-Partenkirchen including low level meadow walks, river paths and easily reachable mountain huts with panoramic views and traditional Bavarian hospitality. The apartment gets all day sunshine and provides stunning views of the Zugspitz mountain range. All bedrooms are triple rooms – perfect for families/large groups. Also a comfortable double sofa bed in the studio kitchen. Two lounge areas allow larger groups to socialise comfortably with either satellite TV, free WiFi, books or boardgames, or you can benefit from the relaxing restaurant/bar on the ground floor which serves food until late. Children very welcome–high chair, cot, baby bath, etc., readily available as well as a fantastic climbing frame outside! There is also outside dining, including a BBQ. Off-street private parking and a bus-stop directly outside the door. Only minutes from shops, restaurants etc.

Other local facilities: There are 3 supermarkets within a very short walking distance including bakeries, butchers, off-licence/wine store, greengrocer, petrol stations, post office, hairdressers, tailor and an ATM cash point, ski shop and fitness/medical facilities (all next door). A walk into town will bring you to many international and traditional restaurants and bars (including our own small family-runlounge bar/restaurant on the ground floor), clubs, internet cafes and a thriving pedestrianized zone with wonderful boutiques, specialist shops and cafes to 'people watch' while drinking coffee and eating delicious cake. Bavarian restaurants with traditional music and entertainment and plenty of bars serving locally produced beers and schnapps offer evening fun. A fabulous taxi service (call 08821 2408 for cheap airport/train station pickup and all local runs) plus local/regional buses/trains are reliable and always available. For the children Garmisch-Partenkirchen has an abundance of fabulous playgrounds and adventure areas so there will always be something to do!

Tourist Attractions: Garmisch = Tourism! Other than the obvious mountain sports for both the fit and the spectator (annual Ski World Cup and international Ski Jump, etc.), this amazing town has much to offer - stunning lakes of Eibsee and Riessersee are within easy reach. Swimming pools with water parks, health spas, and freshwater lakes are open all year round (weather permitting!) Leisurely walks bring you to the Kurpark, Garmisch and Partenkirchen town centres, the farmers market (Thurs/Fri), churches, cinemas, museums, library, theatre, festivals and Christmas markets. For the more adventurous - visit the gorge (Partnachklamm) or take a horse and carriage ride through the area. The nearby region offers beautiful towns and cities - Murnau (Kandinsky's beloved home/the stunning Staffelsee lake), Oberammergau (the Passion play theatre/wood carving), Mittenwald (violin manufacturers), Neuschwanstein (and other King Ludwig castles), beautiful Munich and Innsbruck (Austria) and Italy is only 90mins drive!

Holiday activities/events: Garmisch and its surroundings offer so many activities - winter sports: skiing, snowboarding, sledding, ice skating, ice hockey and apres-ski!; summer sports: hiking, mountaineering, climbing, canoeing, cycling and mountain biking, fishing, caving, paddle boating, white water rafting, golf, tennis and roller blading; all year round activities: swimming, sailing and horse riding. Festivals, events and markets are:

City Biathlon (end of Dec), Skijump World Cup (1. Jan), Wintersportwoche & Hornschlittenrennen (usually around 6. Jan), FIS Alpiner Ski Weltcup (end. Jan-early Feb), Georgimarkt (end of April), Frühlingsfest (early May), Richard-Strauss Festival (mid June), 4 TRAILS Trailrunning-Event and BMW Motorrad Days (early July), Garmischer Festwoche (late July-early Aug), Partenkirchner Festwoche (mid-late Aug), Martinimarkt (around 11. Nov) as well as many more. Even more sedentary activities like bird watching, searching for alpine flowers or going to the casino can be provided here - you'll never be bored!

The apartment is spacious and provided plenty of room for my adult children and I. There was parking available on the street or on site. We made breakfast most days of our visit. There are a number of grocery stores in the area, two within walking distance. While the hosts were out of town, their manager Sameer made us feel welcome. The location is above an Irish Pub, I recommend the food. We had burgers, chicken nachos and fish and chips. Everything was great!

  • Both bedrooms are triple rooms consisting of a double and a single bed, bedside tables with lamps, a wardrobe and two chairs. Both rooms could also be used as twin rooms if desired allowing you to be really flexible with your sleeping arrangements. Bedroom 1 also has a beautiful view of the Kramer mountain as well as a chest of drawers, table, a mirror, hair-dryer and radio. REALLY cheap airport pick up service for all local airports. Friendly taxi service - just call 08821 2408. Health spa facilities in the 4star hotel next door for a small fee. Daily maid service available at extra charge. Secure storage area for skis, snowboards, hiking/climbing gear directly outside apartment door. Check in time 3pm. Check out time 10am. Both times flexible - speak to the owner.

Last Minute Find with Breathtaking View

I was recently travelling through Bavaria on the way home...running behind schedule I needed to find a place to stay, thankfully I was able to book a last minute stay here and couldn't be more pleased. The apartment was extremely clean, the bed was so very comfortable (not usually the case in Europe) and the view was breathtaking! The apartment had several beds although I was travelling alone and was located adjacent to a wonderful restaurant/pub and the pizza was delicious, plus the entire staff was very welcoming and provided excellent service. I wish I had tried the fish and chips, certainly next time because I am already planning another visit to this beautiful part of Germany! I also appreciated the bus top right out front which took me to the city center in 5 minutes, the walk back only took around 20 minutes.

Good location, nothing else positive

Location is good, but nothing else positive to say about the property. Located on the third floor of a building with a ground floor bar. Noise is an issue as is space. Appears to be a converted attic. Would not recommend for families or couples. Would be good for a group of young adults looking for a place to sleep who aren't concerned with comfort.

We work very hard to make sure our guests are happy with their reservation before they confirm, and comfortable during their stay. I'm sorry you feel that this was not true in your experience. I would like to clarify - our description of the property includes "loft apartment" in the title and is shown fairly in our photographs. We also promote the bar on the ground floor as an added bonus in our initial response to enquiring guests, and our holidaymakers find it to be a positive, rather than a negative, because the food and service is great and you can even have your order delivered to the door at no extra charge! We have had many families staying with us (probably the majority of our bookings), and larger groups of up to 8 people with children, all of which have been very happy during their stay. This is reflected in our many positive reviews, which, among other things, commend the warm welcome, the family atmosphere, the amount of space, the good night's sleep and the value for money. I hope this reassures all our future renters that their stay will be comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you.

August 2016 Visit

Our family of 6 spent four nights in the top floor apartment unit. Sound from the pub two floors below was NOT an issue. The apartment is simple, and the sloped third floor ceilings require a watchful eye, but this is a very good value for a large family. The apartment and G-P is are a nice base for a Bavarian vacation. We took day trips to Dachau near Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle (a pretty 75 minute drive), the Ettal Monastery (30 minutes), and hiked in the Leutasch Gorge near Mittenwald and the Partnach Gorge in G-P. The G-P visitors card also gets one into the Alpspitz--Wellenbad, a large indoor swimming/health spa complex in G-P, for free. The owners were very responsive and helpful. A traditional butcher is kitty-corner and the town has numerous backerei. Grocery stores are within walking distance.

Basic, but service with a smile!

What makes this property special is the friendly caretaker Miri and her sister (who runs the bar below), Sara. They were the most friendly people we encountered on our entire two-week holiday in Germany. Since we didn't speak the language very well, their help was invaluable!


Comfortable layout

Convenient location (short walk into center of town, but bus stop (into town or slopes) just outside building.

Excellent communication with owner

Good wifi

Bar food okay (pizzas very good!) and bar itself quite friendly


Low ceilings - tall people beware.

Bar noise - there was really only one night when the bar noise was an issue. The apartment is two floors above the bar, so generally it isn't that bad.

Scalding hot water - we found the water to be too unpredictable to use for showers. It would go from cool to scalding in a second and we certainly couldn't risk putting the kids in there. We didn't bother Miri with this issue since it was acknowledged on the welcome letter. We found somewhere else to shower, but not everyone would have that option.

Only 1 actual w/c, which could be an issue for large groups (the apartment can sleep up to 8).

A washing machine would have been very useful.

Whinter vacation with famaly and friends

At first, I would like to say many thanks to the owner for help during booking of this apartment. We solved many questions and details by e-mail and every time you was very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Miri and everyone from "Local Cure",they were always friendly and ready to help us with every question. Our stay as well as arrival and departure was organised perfectly!

And now about apartment. Its absolutely great! Location, furnishing, equipment, view from the window... All together exceeded our expectations. We spend a wonderful vacation and felt ourselves like at home.

I would definitely recommend this place for everyone looking for a holiday in Germish-Partenkirchen.

Spacy apartment, well equiped and great hostess

We really enjoyed our stay - the apartment was big enough to accommodate 2 families, we really liked the spacious leaving room with its cosy atmosphere. The kitchen was well equipped, so we could prepare our Christmas Eve dinner. The hostess was very helpful, provided all the informations and the communication before our arrival was just excellent. Location at the main street is convenient, ca. 10 min. walk to the city centre, 5 min. drive to the Garmisch-classic ski slopes, 15 min. to Zugspitze Eibsee. The only pity there was no snow for Christmas there and only 1 ski lift was working. At the ground floor there is an Irish Pub - so easy to go down for a nice pint even in your slippers, just don't eat there - the worst fish&chips we've ever had, waited almost an hour and got it completely burnt.

Peak View apartment has stunning views of the full Zugspitz mountain range in Garmisch-Partenkirchen - made famous by the Winter Olympics and annual world skiing events. It is ideally located for accessing all summer and winter activities in the town and also the wider region. With a bus stop right outside it is very easy to reach all ski slopes/hiking trails (all levels), town centre, train/bus stations and local/regional tourist attractions without having to use a car. Restaurants and bars offering a wide range of international and traditional cuisine (including a small family-run lounge bar restaurant on the ground floor) are within walking distance as well as shopping and other local facilities. Working in partnership with our neighbouring hotel (Rheinischerhof), guests can also make use of wonderful spa facilities for a small charge and the cheapest ski rental shop in town is only next door. Garmisch and Partenkirchen (GaP) offer two different views of this most beautiful part of Bavaria - night-life meets quiet relaxation. Also, there is no 'off-season' as GaP has something to do all year round - skiing/snowboarding and all winter sports, hiking and climbing, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and rafting, swimming, visiting gorges and historical ruins, museums, churches, castles, traditional markets and music events etc. For anyone on a road trip - Garmisch is also an ideal stop off point for travelling onwards as Austria is less than 10km away and the border of Italy only 1.5hrs drive. Excellent local train services connect GaP to the cities of Munich (with stop offs in Murnau and Starnberg a must) and Innsbruck in Austria. Airports in Munich, Memmingen and Innsbruck are also less than 90min by car.

Visitor's tax of €2 per adult (16 years+) and €1 per child (6-15 years) per night, gives free use of local bus service, entrance to Alpspitzbad wave pool and discounts on other local/regional attractions.

Cancellation between 4-8 weeks before arrival - 50% of the total fee is retained by the apartment owners.
