About the property

Chalet di Cher

I ‘Rustici di Cher’ are a lovingly restored old farmhouse nestled into the chestnut forest of Montemezzo above Gera Lario and boast an unforgettable panoramic view of Lake Como.

Kids can play in a safe environment in the green in front of the house.

This wonderful view can be enjoyed from all three apartments: Le PAPERE , Le TARTARUGHE and Le CAMPANELLE.

Le PAPERE has a large panoramic terrace facing the lake, LE TARTARUGHE and Le CAMPANELLE have a porch and private garden with panoramic view.

All terrace and porch are well furnished with wooden dining tables and chairs and relax chairs that beg you to spend the whole day outdoor, simply soaking up the view. All apartments have their private barbeque for the practice of your culinary skills.

In the forest of Cher only 300 meters from the house there is 'Il torrente Sorico' a nice small and wild river with nice pools of refrashing water where you can relax.

ECO BUILDING: I Rustici di Cher has been realized with special attention to the rational use of energy and environmental sustainability. In 2010 they have been certified by CESTEC as class B (the ranking goes from class G to class A being class A the best one). CESTEC is the regional energy agency of Lombardia.

It has taken the owner three years to complete the lovely restoration of I Rustici di Cher with the strict building regulation being consulted every step on the way. The result is quite stunning, the apartments are a real gem, full of charm., They are bright and with a fantastic view on the valley. The house has been furnished by an architect from Milan with special details to be comfortable and charming. There is high quality wood and stone work throughout, exposed ceiling beams. Overall the test full design and color schemes makes you fell at home. The house is eco friendly with solar heated hot water system, central gas heating and independent wood heating as well.

It a small private paradise, not only for hikers and mountain bikers, but also for those looking for a peaceful escape and a chance to explore the culture of Alto Lario and its very well known gastronomic attractions.

The owner lives in Monza, but also uses the vacation home himself and consequently it is particularly well thought out and lovely maintained.

This is a very safe area and you can park in the garden at the back of the house (1 car per apartment) or in the road at the beginning of via Cher, (the 130 m path that leads you up to the house that has been recently restructured), or in a bigger parking near S. Martino Church (200 metres from via Cher)

Via Cher ends at I Rustici di Cher and they are almost a car free pedestrian zone that make the place more peacefull.

If you drive e 4*4 you can park in garden at the back of the house.

If you are a good hiker you can make a NO CAR CHOICE and walk down to Gera Lario (2 km of an ancient footpath) were you can find a supermarket, a bakery, cafés, restaurant, a big swimming pool and many other sport facility in the area of the harbor.

A fantastic house with a fantastic view

  • 5 of 5

I rented this brand new house in Montemezzo in August 2010 and it turned out to be far bejond my expectations. The hosue was clean, well furnished and with all necessary appiances for a confortable stay, very different from the average holiday house you can rent in this area. It's located up on the hill, 5-minute walk from the main road. It's an ideal place for families with children, but also for those peole who love to be in the nature. It's only five/ten minutes by car from to the lake shore where all sports facilities can be found. The owner is friendly and available to supply all information about the surroundings that he knows very, very well. I found very useful the "welcome package" with all information about the area prepared by the owner for his guests. I reccommend this place to all my friends and what's more the price/qualty ratio is excellent. Francesca

mooi gelegen

  • 3 of 5

Heerlijke vakantie gehad.

Schön gelgen aber umständlich zu erreichen

  • 2 of 5

We had a great holiday! thanks

  • 5 of 5

First of all, we want to thank you for a lovely vacation. The area is beautiful and the access to it was so comfortable. We really enjoyed it. We enjoyed the apartment, which was neat and clean. The apartment was so well organized inside and it was the perfect size for our big family. The sunny terrace was absolutely perfect for relaxing. Montemezzo, Gera and Gravedona are great places to stay. There are a lots of restaurants and cafes and also very good wine bars. We loved Lake Como - it was paradise!

We will take advantage of it again.
