Notes:
Steps throughout the property. The property is not suitable for children under five years due to the open stairs leading to the kitchen area. If you are bringing children to the property we would recommend that they are supervised at all times especially on the open stairs leading to the kitchen area. Although we are just outside the congestion zone, a car is not essential in central London. However should you be driving to the property there are on-street parking meters nearby. Long term car parking facilities are available within 800 m of the property. If you are a 'Zipcar' member (car sharing scheme) there is a bay within 100 m of the property. Or if you prefer to explore London by bicycle, 'Boris Bikes' (bicycle hire scheme) are within 500 m of the property. Alternatively public transport (buses) is available at the bottom of the street. Within 100m of the property is a lovely enclosed public garden - a lovely place to sit and relax after a busy day seeing the sights

The property was a great location for us. We enjoyed the garden across the street and the walks on the canal. Easy access to the restaurants and shops in the area.

Owner's Response: Sorry to hear you were disturbed during your stay . We advised you prior to your arrival (and offered you the possibility to cancel with a full refund) that our neighbour was undertaking some building work. We also find it strange that you communicated your concerns regarding the level of noise via a public site, and not to us directly, as we would have hoped . We are slightly perplexed that the two comments were from the same person! Herewith is an extract of the personal email you sent to us following your stay. "Dear Diane & Stephen, I would like to extend my gratitude for allowing my family and I stay at your lovely home. We appreciate all the accommodations. Once again thank you for opening your home to us. We had a lovely time. Best regards, Elsa ." We can only apologise again, and hope that the positive attributes of staying in such a central location in London outweighed any disturbance caused by something that was beyond our control.

Lovely property to stay, in a great location in Islington.

  • 5 of 5

Glad we found this great place to stay for our weekend away in London. Bedrooms were all clean and towels provided for our stay. Lovely social spaces in two areas of the House - living room and kitchen/dining room area. Three bedrooms, with a lovely front bedroom over looking the main road. Property owner was very welcoming and kept in contact via email, to answer any questions before and during our stay. I was impressed with the support to advise us on the local area, and information about the property arrived in plenty of time to organise our weekend. The welcoming touches, such as the flowers and bottle of wine was also a nice thought. I would recommend this property for its location in Islington, only a short taxi from Liverpool st station.

Well equipped very comfortable and welcoming home. We felt at home straight away

  • 5 of 5

The house was welcoming and very comfortable. It had all we needed for our stay. Our three almost teenagers were very impressed with the space, and my Mother was too. Access to shops, restaurants and transport was great, and we loved all the green spaces locally and especially the canal walks. It was a great base for our week in London.

Great place for family stay in London!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a comfortable and convenient trip to London staying at Diane's house. The receptions and large kitchen-dining room gave parents and young-adult children plenty of room to spread out. The fifteen-minute walk to the Tube was along a lovely canal. From the lengthy, pre-stay letter of instructions for the home and tips for the surrounding area, to the welcome chocolate and wine, to the response to a faulty light, Diane was an attentive and responsive host. We would love to return to London and her townhouse!

A comfortable home in a trendy area with nearby public transport links

  • 5 of 5

We needed a place to stay for family and friends meeting for a concert nearby. The house with its great kitchen/ dining/ sitting and office area plus 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was just what we needed. The owners are easy to deal with and make the experience effortless. The area is very quiet with easy access to Islington, the canal for walks to nearby markets and buses/ tube. We caught a bus not 5 minutes walk way all the way to Aldwych for a show. Recommended.
