About Stan and Gloria Wakefield
We are a retired couple from Florida who have vacationed in the Boothbay area for many years. The appeal of the Boothbay area led us to buy a summer home in 2015 so we could spend even more time in Maine. Stan is a retired naval officer from Pensacola, FL & Gloria is a retired health care consultant from the Golden Isles of Georgia. We very much enjoy living in the Boothbay region and it is our great pleasure to be able to share our home and our part of Maine with others.

Why Stan and Gloria Wakefield chose Boothbay
We have been vacationing in Maine in the Boothbay area for the past ten years to escape Florida summers. We have come to enjoy the small-town environment & scenic beauty offered by the Boothbay region. We selected our home based on its convenient location to Boothbay Harbor & the small, quiet, & friendly neighborhood that provides a picnic area & dock to enjoy Linekin Bay. We are excited to be able to share our community with others.
What makes this Apartment unique
Our fully furnished apartment provides privacy, comfort & a convenient location to enjoy a relaxing vacation in the Boothbay region of Maine. The location of our home, so close to the chilly waters of Linekin Bay, provides for cool nights and pleasant summer days, with an occasional foggy morning or afternoon. Our small neighborhood off the main road ensures quiet evenings and a lovely area for walks. Our location is within a few hours drive of many of Maine's scenic lighthouses; beautiful coastlines; Acadia National Park; & many other mid coast locations.

LOVED IT SO MUCH WE'RE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR
We stayed in Sail Loft in Sept/Oct in 2019 for 3 days. Stan and Gloria were wonderful to work with. The place is spotless, roomy, quiet and well decorated. We had everything we needed; except a washer/dryer. It's in a great location in Boothbay, minutes from town and within driving distance to other coastal areas. We've already booked a week there for next year. Thanks Stan and Gloria!
Great time and place for a good price.
For the first time it was a great experience
Excellent location and hosts . Super clean, had everything you need and hosts were very helpful and just very nice people .
Really great time!
Really nice place. Secluded and quiet. Clean and well stocked.
Great place to stay
Property was exactly as advertised. Wonderful location and the owners were very nice. Our stay was exactly as we hoped it would be.
A lovely time was had!
Charming, cozy property with many thoughtful touches, including welcome coffee & muffins, beach chairs & towels, and lots of local information. Host was friendly & engaging, and gave some us great tips (like East Boothbay Gen'l. Store for breakfast--yum!). We wouldn't hestitate to recommend Sail Loft! Scott & Debbie
Our goal is to provide every guest with a positive experience at the Sail Loft, and we appreciate Scott & Debbie's comments. We use our own VRBO experiences (both good & not-so-good) and the recommendations of our guests to make the Sail Loft a clean, safe, and enjoyable place to stay for their visit to the Boothbay area.
The SailLoft is located in a tranquil neighborhood adjacent beautiful Linekin Bay in the town of East Boothbay. You can enjoy the neighborhood's deep water access via a floating dock and a small beach located 200 yards from the apartment. Personal kayaks/paddle boards can be off loaded at the dock to enjoy Linekin Bay or venture out to the open ocean & Gulf of Maine. There are picnic tables at the dock for your use after sightseeing. The East Boothbay General Store is a 1 mile walk for great food & much more. Boothbay Harbor & it's many attractions is a 1.5 mile drive to enjoy dining, shopping, night life, boating excursions for whale, seal and puffin watching & island hopping. Monhegan Island is a favorite day trip; Burnt Island Light is an interactive experience with live performers & Cabbage Island is a favorite visit for an authentic Maine lobster feast.
Area things to do: Antiquing; Bird Watching; Kayaking; Hiking over 20 land trust forest preserves; photography; scenic drives; the spectacular Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens; Boothbay Opera House for live entertainment; & visiting the many lighthouses in the mid-coast area just to name a few. Acadia National Park is a 3-hour drive from the SailLoft.
