Lovely location for sunsets in August
Property is fine. Needs weed whipping and some minor maintenance, i.e. new screens in the sliding doors. Would be nice if there was a screen door on the door you enter. The mill foil was bad and due to that not able to swim.
The running water is rusty and does have a smell. Definitely need drinking and cooking water brought in.
We enjoyed our stay and had a good weekend.
The cabin was nice and clean for the most part and as described. The lake is nice and clean and has a nice beach area. We were glad to have brought our own lake toys and towels as there were not many to accomodate our entire family. We had to clean up after a previous tenants dog and we had to go without propane in the grill as we didn't know there was none or where to find any. But we enjoyed our stay and would come back for sure. The owners were pleasant and easy to communicate with.
Thank you for your review!
I certainly understand your concerns! Picking up after someone else's dog should not be something you have to do! We allow pets because we are pet owners as well. We pickup after our pets and ask other pet owners do the same. However this is not something that was always checked between stays and is something we missed and apologize for the inconvenience.
The propane must have run empty and we always have a full one available if you contact me, we can work out details of getting that switched.
Thank you again and hope you to stay again.
Very nice cozy cabin with beautiful sunsets every night!
We enjoyed out stay and used most of the amenities available, kayak, rowboat, fire pit, grill and wi-fi. The weather was perfect the whole stay - even one good thunderstorm! We didn't see one mosquito, lots of dragon flies, (which I love), one loon, a couple of tufted titmice grey birds, (the first I have ever seen - had to look it up) a muskrat and a redwing black bird, oh and at least one bullfrog that joined in the chorus of natures sounds. We don't fish but we saw a lot of little fish off the dock and did talk to one person that caught a bass not too far from us. Neighbors on one side are close with kids but were very respectful our our privacy. If you need a get away and don't want to travel far from Minneapolis or St. Paul, or are coming from afar and want a wonderful Minnesota cabin experience I would highly recommend this place.
Thank you for your review and hope you to stay again!
Very comfy and serene
We had an excellent stay - accommodations were rustic, comfortable and homey. Lake was beautiful. It was a bit cool for swimming but we had fun with the available boats. Be aware that the water is very very hard so there is the distinctive aroma of iron and the color is off. I would bring length of water for drinking and cooking. We sid not find this to be any sort of annoyance as this is common where we are from. However I would be aware in case anyone in your group would be bothered.
Very nice cabin in a good location
Me and my friends stayed at the cabin for a girls weekend. The cabin slept all 5 of us comfortably and had everything that you would need. The location was great as well, not too far from the city and we were able to have fun in the water and catch some fish too! The only issue we had which is out of the owners control was a neighbor dog that barked almost the whole night on Friday. Other than that it was a great spot.
Rustic Minnesota Cabin
Sunset views were beautiful and I loved the proximity to the cities. The water was clean and clear and we could see fish swimming right near the dock. The deck was great for sitting and watching the lake. We spotted loons and got to see a nice show through binoculars. We also heard the loons at night. The water toys were nice. We used life jackets, kayak, and floaties. Beach could use a little TLC, maybe clearing out some rocks and weeds if possible, to make swimming more inviting. There were water bottles in fridge (thank you) and I'd recommend bringing in a container of water for drinking, coffee, etc.. (Like any typical Minnesota cabin, water is hard and rusty.) Beds were comfortable, linens were clean, plenty of pillows, blankets, and towels. Best of all, the owners kept it simple, no long list of rules or assigned chores before leaving. Just the wifi password, the code to the shed, and a "have fun!"
