The pool, although small (4m by 3m and 1m deep) has the advantage of being chlorine free, which allows babies to swim and cool off nicely. It is secured by removable barriers. Two teak tables and chairs in the shade of a pine tree and a pergola on the terrace can accommodate 7 people. The chairs are comfy and numerous. Another garden is under the persimmon in the Mediterranean vegetation. The cars are parked in the car park at the bottom of the meadow.

Un petit paradis!

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

A haven of peace and beauty

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week here in June 2014. The house has been renovated with a lot of taste and comfort. It consists of two parts, one with three bedorooms and the second part a self-contained one-bedroom apartment with its own kitchen, living room and bathroom. We rented both parts and thus had the entire house to ourselves.

There is no air-conditioning, but the thick stone walls keep the rooms nice and cool. The main kitchen is well equipped. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.

The garden is an absolute delight. There are several terraces spread all over the large garden, and there is always at least one of them with shade and a breeze. The garden is full of flowers and aromatic herbs.

There is a minor road that leads past the house, but even during busy times there were hardly two cars per hour. So the peace and quiet of the place were never disturbed.

There is a swimming pool but it is very small. For us it was not important to have a big swimming pool and we still enjoyed the odd dip in the water after a hot day. But for people who find a large swimming pool important this would be a problem.

Mirabel is the nearest village with facilities, a mere 5-10 minute drive away. There are two bakers, a butcher and a greengrocer's in Mirabel. The nearest supermarket is ten minutes away, on the road to Vaison.

The surroundings are beautiful. The house is set on a slope of vineyards and olive groves. There are several tourist sites (Vaison, Grignan, the Dentelles de Montmirail, Orange, Avignon) in the immediate vicinity. You can do wine and olive oil tastings every day if you want. Hiking in the area is fantastic if the weather is not too hot.

I would warmly recommed this house to everybody who wants to find some peace and quiet and who wants to explore this beautiful part of France. The charming owners were very helpful with suggestions.
