Lovely family detached cottage lovingly restored. private terrace for ’al fresco’ dining. 3 bedrooms (one double and a single and an additional sitting room with either a double or twin ), a kitchen and dining area, sitting room and bathroom. The hamlet of Borgo Tranquillita has a large crystal swimming pool which has been idyllically positioned for its views over the valley. Although the houses have central heating, each has a large open fireplace welcoming early and late season visitors.
From here you can relax, unwind and enjoy the lovely scenery - or, there are day excursions to Cortona, Arezzo, Montepulcinao, Pienza, Assisi and more. Wine is a famous Tuscan export and you can use some of your time here to explore the many vineyards or go on a wine tour (In English, French, Danish, German) and enjoy some of the superior wines Tuscany has to offer. Other activities in the area are cooking classes, truffle hunting and numerous festivals throughout the year.
The property sits on one of the hillsides overlooking the historic Val di Chio and is accessed by a white road. The beauty of the location is the peace and quiet along with the views, the sunsets and, if you are here during mid August, San Lorenzo's evening of shooting stars will entertain you too!
Within the hamlet are three independent cottages each with private terraces and access to three pergolas around the gardens and pool. The cottages can be rented individually or for a larger group of say, 10 guests when a large communal dining/sitting room is also available for all guests plus an additional bathroom.
Castiglion Fiorentino is about 7kms. which is midway between the historic towns of Arezzo and Cortona. Lake Trasimeno with its pretty beaches is within easy driving distance.
This is a bucolic, working, rural area of Tuscany where the maintenance of vines, olive groves and vast fields of sunflowers provide many of the locals a livelihood.
Visiting here is about peace and tranquillity, comfort and unwinding. However, most visitors want to get a flavour of Tuscan life and visit the many fascinating historic, sites - for this a car is a necessity. from here all within an hour or so
