About Brian Ament
I am always rejuvenated when I'm here at the river. I get a feeling of tranquility seeing the eagles and other wildlife in the area. I love being able to just jump on my boat ( any excuse is a good one ) and take a ride on the water. If you are interested, we offer an optional pontoon boat trip around the lake with complimentary wine and cheese. Let me tell you about the Safe Harbor Indian Petrogylphs and the local history and botany.
Why Brian Ament chose Pequea
If you like getting away from it all, need to unwind or great place to play ~~ you found it! The best area for boating, from waterskiing to kayaking, or fishing. We are close enough if want to have a nice dinner & show. The Fulton Opera House, the American Music Theater, Sight & Soundand several movie theaters are only 1/2 hour drive. If you are new to the area, come discover Amish Country, antiquing in Columbia or experiencing the clock and watch museum.
What makes this House unique
The Lake's tranquility and all the other things it has to offer may be the reason why the Indians chose to live here. Check out Indian Steps Museum, The Conestoga Historical Society, Canal Lock 12, Tucquan Glenn Nature Preserve , relax ~~ fish, boat or hike.

Beautiful property. Very relaxing. We loved the trains! Views are amazing!
Lake House Living, with a beautiful view!
Our family tends to be on the go every minute on a vacation, but this house made us prefer to slow down and actually relax at the house. It was the perfect size and layout for our family of four, with beautiful views on each floor, a nice patio space to sit out and watch the sunset from, and a great yard to sit or play in. The kitchen was stocked with cooking tools that met all of our needs as we made several homemade meals in the house throughout the week and on the grill. Beds were comfortable, and the washer and dryer were a generous size and a great convenience. We saw a lot of nature throughout the week and even went out on the water for a boat ride one morning with the host -- he picked us up right at the dock on the property. The train only came at night and was not so loud that it disrupted anything. I found the location central to everything we wanted to do, from visiting Amish country to checking our the Turkey Hill Experience to going to the Sight and Sound Theatre. A beautiful spot to just relax and enjoy the view!
We had a great stay in this very comfortable home. It is very far from stores and tourist sites but that is what we wanted. The sunsets were beautiful and the owner was very polite an helpful when we had a silly issue.
Great weekend with friends!
This property was very nice. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Although we occasionally heard trains at night, it didn’t interrupt our sleep. Our visit was a rainy winter weekend....would love to visit in summer and use the lake!
Very cute and very clean house. Loved being right on the water and being able to see eagles fly by. Also neat to have the train right there, too. The trains run more at night so if you’re a light sleeper you may want to bring ear plugs or some kind of sound machine. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were 5 of us for a girls weekend and we all fit comfortably.
We enjoyed our stay at the Lake House. It's really a quiet, beautiful place to stay. The house was well-equipped and comfortable. I would suggest adding a vegetable peeler and some games and books. Waking up to that beautiful view was awesome. We enjoyed watching the eagles. The train at night woke me up at first, but I quickly got used to that and ended up wishing it would come by in the daytime so I could watch it. You are really far out in the country and it takes 20+ minutes to get to town and stores, but I liked the drive. Overall we were very happy with our stay at the Lake House.
39 miles of hiking trails surround Lake Aldred: Conestoga trail leads into the Mason Dixon trail. Shenk's Ferry Wildflower Preserve and Tuquan Nature Area are less than 5 miles away. There are 8 eagles nest surrounding the lake. Eight mile lake - perfect for boating and relaxing in paradise.
