A self-contained double bedsitting - room/kitchenette with separate shower and WC at the bottom of a large garden with its own outside decking terrace facing a pond, colour HD TV with Freeview, microwave-combination grill oven, Kampa Single Electric Hob, small fridge and kettle. We are within 15 minutes' walk from Willesden Green Tube station on the Jubilee line and Brondesbury Park train station on the Silver Metro overland train link to Richmond, Straford or Barking. There are many shops open 24/7 within 10 minutes'walk, including a large supermarket (Sainsbury's), trendy bars, pubs, and restaurants in Queens Park 15-20 minutes'walk down the road, as well as Queens Park itself, which is a very popular park with all the neighbourhood, and Willesden Sports Centre, with its large swimming pool, is also 10-15 minutes' walk from the house. The cabin has internet wifi connection throughout. There is also resident street parking available for £1.50 (Local Council rates). per day.

About Michelle Newman

I am the proud grandmother of 4. This is our family home where I live in the downstairs flat with my husband and we rent the two 1st floor flats and the log cabin at the bottom of our garden in a very secluded, private area. I am the retired director of a Drama School and I have also taught English all my adult life from age 16 to 55 from all over the world whereas my husband is a QC practising law in London and abroad.

This property is located in a very leafy area, close to some good schools and lovely parks, and yet is very accessible to the centre of London thanks to its multiple public transports facilities (Jubilee line from Willesden Green tube station, Bakerloo Line from Queens Park station, Silver Metro Link from Brondesbury Park overland station, and bus (206) route in front of the door.

What makes this apartment unique

This is a 1928 property with all the character features of that period and yet entirely renovated inside, so as to offer all modern comforts. We also benefit from the wonderful view of our back garden, which is the product of my passion for organic and wildlife gardening.

Jeune couple, nous avons passé un magnifique séjour dans cet appartement (du 11/11/15 au 18/11/15). L'appartement est lumineux, spacieux, propre et confortable. Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis. Madame Newman est disponible et a répondu à toutes nos questions. L'appartement est idéalement situé, selon nous : ni trop près, ni trop loin du centre de Londres (10 minutes à pied de la station de métro et 15 minutes de métro de Oxford Street). Nous sommes nostalgiques de notre séjour et avons hâte de revenir le plus vite possible !

Wonderful vacation apartment!

The apartment was very spacious and full of natural light. The fully equipped kitchen was useful because we like to make our breakfast and some lunches. We did not expect to find fresh fruit, milk, butter, and bread stocked in the fridge - this was a nice touch and very welcome to find after our long journey on a red-eye flight. The apartment is close to two underground stations, one over ground station, and several very useful bus lines. The 52 bus stops in front of the Royal Albert Hall and drops you off about 4 blocks from the apartment - this was really nice at 10 pm after a show.

The neighborhood is full of inexpensive restaurants. Places that we tried and liked were:

Anjanaas, 57-59 Willesden Ln, Indian - we ate there the first night and liked it so much we ate there the last night, too. About a mile south on Willesden Lane. You can walk or take the 98 bus.

The Charcoal Grill restaurant on Walm Lane down the hill from the underground station, between the Jersey Chicken and Angie's III. They serve Turkish and Kurdish food. The service is fast and excellent, as is the food. This was one of the least expensive meals we had. The salad served with the kabob was delicious.

The North London Tavern, on Kilburn High Road, close to both the Kilburn underground station and the Brondesbury Overground station. The food was really good. I had tasty lamb chops.

The Czechoslovak Restaurant, 74 West End Ln, London, a short walk south of the West Hampstead underground station. Traditional Czech beer and food with hearty portions, luckily you can order a half size for most entrees - half size was still a decent size dinner. I would be afraid to order the full size. Very reasonable prices and the food was very good.

All our guests are welcome with a little basic food supply as most of them arrive a little late in the day and may not find it easy to go out straight away and shop after a long journey. Great Place

I've rented the one bed room flat a few times already and it's always very good, quiet place, very clean, high standard and the landlord Michelle is very nice and accommodating to any needs you might have. The flat is also very well located. It's less than 15 minutes by tube to central London, such as to Oxford Street, and the neighbourhood has lots of shops and a big supermarket walking distance from the flat. It's a very good deal for the price charged for this place. You will have difficulties finding a flat with this high standard and size for the price charged in London. When you arrive at the flat, there's also some bread, butter, organic milk in the fridge as courtesy, fruits at the kitchen table, washing soap, lots of condiments in the cupboard, such as salt and pepper, and kitchen paper rolls. I also stayed already at her two bedroom apartment and it's also great.

Great place to stay

Three of us stayed at the 1 bedroom for 8 nights. I have to say the experience was excellent. The size of room is bigger than any place I stayed before in central London. The sofa bed was comfortable. The location is great with in 10 to 20 minutes walking distance to Jubilee and Bakerloo tube. In addition there's supermarket close by. I'd like to thank the hosts, especially Mrs. Connor for their hospitality and assistance that make our stay a fantastic experience

Excellence

We had booked this flat with for a stay in late October. Unfortunately, we had to cancel unexpectedly. Mrs. N was fantastic throughout the process and promptly refunded the agreed upon portion of our deposit. As most travelers know, making that initial deposit to a perfect stranger in another country based only upon a few emails and VRBO reviews can be nerve-wracking. Mrs. N allayed all our fears and, despite cause for concern due to our late cancellation, responded with kindness and courtesy. We hope to re-book with her and this wonderful flat on our next trip to London.

THE APARTMENT WAS SPACIOUS VERY CLEAN AND HAD ALL THAT YOU MAY NEED. THE OWNERS WERE VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL. THE BUS STATION NEAR THE HOUSE (98) AND THE NEAR TUBE(WILLESDEN GREEN) TAKE EASILY TO THE CENTER. WE WILL STAY IN THE SAME APARTMENT IN OUR JOURNEY TO LONDON.

We are situated in Brondesbury Park, 10 min walk from Willesden Green station on the Jubilee Line, Zone 2 which takes you to Bond Street in 15 min and Dockland in 40 min and 15-20 min walk from Queen's Park on the Bakerloo Line. There are two main Parks within a short walking distance: Queen's Park and Roundwood Park, both with excellent amenities for families with young children. There is also an excellent Sports Centre with a large swimming pool, 10 min walk away and Hampstead Heath with all its outdoor attractions, which include Kenwood House, is a 10 min drive or tube journey away. You can also get the overland train to Kew Gardens (20 min) and Richmond (25 min) from Brondesbury Park Rail station (10 min walk). There is a Farmers Market down the road in Queen's Park every Sunday; the famous London Fringe theatre 'The Tricycle' is 15 minutes' walk away and 'Little Venice' with Regent's Park canal and Portobello Road are a 40-45 min walk.

Golf: Ealing Golf Club is renowned for the condition of its course and the greens are some of the best in England. The Clubhouse has recently undergone a major improvement programme throughout and it offers a comfortable and relaxed area to be enjoyed after a round. Our close proximity to the centre of London has, in the past, attracted celebrity Members such as Sir Henry Cooper, football legends Ruud Gullit and Denis Wise and entertainer Matt Monro. The Club has seen golfing legends such as Peter Allis, Greg Norman, Bernhard Langer and Paul McGinley play the course and enjoy the special hospitality it has to offer. Its annual Scratch Open and Am/Am tournament attracts the best amateur players in the country and past winners include Gary Wolstenholme, James Heath, Anthony Wall and Van Phillips.
