Orana 3 is a new luxurious apartment sitting on the side of the mountain with stunning views across to the Matterhorn. It consists of two bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a large living area with sofa bed and a superbly appointed kitchen with Miele appliances and free wifi. The apartment is surrounded by a huge balcony that gives direct access to the mountain, which is great for children who love to play in the snow. In the summer this access allows wonderful walks directly from the apartment itself.

The Violette ski lift is just 500m, a 7minute walk or a 1 minute bus ride. The bus stop is immediately below the apartment and free buses go regularly to and from the ski lifts and into the towns of Crans and Montana. You can even get the bus back to the apartment quite late in the evening so you can leave the car and not worry about driving home after a nice meal.

The apartment is light and spacious as a result of its modern décor and there is a large sauna and washing machine / drier in the communal areas. There are two underground parking spaces and a well fitted ski locker.

Hot Spas - there are various hot spas that can be visited all within an hours drive such as Leukerbad There are hotels in Crans Montana that offer spa and pampering facilities.

Ski: Crans Montana is a south facing resort offering beautiful runs and stunning views. 4 gondolas service the vast ski area that offers good nursery slopes and challenging runs for intermediates and experts. Crans Montana offers skiers and boarders 160 km of varied and challenging descents with some great accessible off-piste skiing. The run down from the Glacier is acknowledged as its signature run and one of the best in Europe.

The resort boasts a large range of facilities for children including excellent ski schools, ice skating, tobogganing and various snow parks and jump parks. The snow range is from 1550-3000m ensuring good snow conditions throughout the season with many of the runs having artificial snow makers on them.

Golf: No description of Crans-Montana would be complete without mentioning its acclaimed golf courses and the fact it hosts the European masters tournament in early September. Severiano Ballesteros was voted the best course in the country by Swiss professionals. The specialist magazines Golf Monthly and Golf Magazine rate its seventh hole as one of the forty finest in the world, while the Jack Nicklaus course, for its part, comes third in the Swiss rankings. I first skied in Crans Montana when I was 14 and 26 years on it has not lost any of its charm and my children now love it as much as I do. It is a unique place with stunning views across the valley with an energy of its own. It is a lovely to visit in the winter as the summer and just as busy with lots to do an see.

There is a heaven on earth!

This is a beautiful apartment that has everything you need in it. It is modern, well designed and stocked well. The kitchen is just awesome from appliances to cutlery.

This apartment has two bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. So my boys did not have to share with us. It was perfect in every way and it was very comfortable with our family of 5.

The apartment is so close to one of the ski lifts about a 10 minute walk or there is a bus that can take you down. Easier to catch a bus home after a long day on the ski fields than walking up the hill.

The shops are about 10 minute drive into town which have many little restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and shopping. We never had any problems with the language barrier the Swiss were very helpful and kind.

But the best thing was that the owner was on hand to answer any questions that we had and any that we may have had while we were at the apartment. So thank you for being so kind to us and answering all our questions!

Perfect location for summer or winter holiday

The flat is luxurious, tastefully-decorated and well-equipped, perfect for 4-6 people and based within in a modern, chalet-style, apartment block. It’s very comfortable, both bedrooms have en suites. Having stayed at Orana 3 both in summer (June 2009) and winter (Feb 2011, 2013) we can confirm that it’s an ideal location both for winter sports and for summer activities. It was great venue to return to at the end of the day to relax after activities, or just to hang out and chill. For the adults, the view south-wards from the flat, towards the Matterhorn was really memorable, while the kids were particularly happy with instant access to the mountainside, straight from through the French doors from the ground-floor bedrooms at the back, to play in the snow or to run up to the summer meadows behind. For winter sports the free ski bus (about every 30 mins) picks up 50yds from the chalet en route both to the lifts at Barzettes (Violette Express) and Aminona. This means walking less far with skis and boots than from other locations which may be more central and seem closer to the action. There’s plenty to do around the resort, both in Crans and down in the valley. Favourites with our children were the hot spa baths at Leukerbad and Happy Land down in Sion. We recommend it; hope you love it too.

New Year

This was a perfectly appointed appartment from which to enjoy Crans. The rooms are all very well laid out with lots of fitted cupboards and under floor heating. All very necessary for a family with lots of ski kit and damp ski gear. Plus a wonderfully equipped kitchen which made it easy to cook and eat in. (And there was a very efficient miele washing machine in the communal area downstairs with no one fighting to use it). Being a bit above the town meant lovely views and yet it was a surprisingly short walk or bus ride to, in our opinion, the best of the Crans main lifts.

Crans is definitely worth a visit in the early ski season. South facing slopes means lots of warmth and the lack of british ski companies bussing out thousands of british means you get the benefit of real swiss charm.

We particularly recommend a walk on the golf course in the winter snow and the plumachit restaurant which is either a winter walk or a ski away. So Crans would definitely suit families where not all will be skiing.

Beautiful Crans Montana is located 1500m above the Rhone Valley in the French speaking part of Switzerland. It is truly an all year resort and boasts stunning views, wonderful skiing, great shopping, beautiful walks,challenging mountain biking and one of the best golf courses in Europe. It also has the added benefit of being only 100km from the Italian border for those wishing to sample the Italian lakes.

It is easily accessible by road and the train station in Sierre which is 12km down the hill, is connected to the resort by a funicular or bus. Free buses run from one end of the resort to the other, and stop just outside the apartment making the need for a car not completely necessary. From Sierre you can catch straight through trains to Italy, Geneva and Geneva airport. The resorts of Zermatt and Verbier are only 1.5 hours drive away or you can catch a train.

The resort offers Challenging runs for all skiers with great off-piste. The Ski slopes cover a huge area and range in altitude between 1500 and 3000 m. There are 4 cable cars, 7 chairlifts and numerous button lifts servicing the slopes. The majority of the runs are of an intermediate or easy level. There are several ski and snowboarding schools in the town, cross country skiing is also available. Crans Montana boasts a wonderful outdoor ice skating rink in the middle of town which becomes a beach in the summer. For apres ski there are numerous bars, restaurants and clubs that are open all the year round. Being an all year round destination there are endless activities at hand such as hiking, cycling, two golf courses, river rafting, swimming, paragliding , children's clubs, tree climbing, lake with swimming, etc. .

Located close to the Violette cable car (arguably the best of the four in Crans Montana as you can access all parts of the mountain from it) the apartment sits on the side of the mountain with forest on one side and stunning views across the valley to the Matterhorn.
