We have 3 holiday apartments available to rent in the relaxing resort of Galé (10 minutes from Albufeira). We can accommodate 4/5 guests in our 2 bedroom apartments and 6/7 guests in our 3 bedroom apartment. They are situated in the Galé-Mar Apartments, a secure, well maintained gated complex with large family pool and separate children's pool set in beautiful communal gardens. If the pool is not for you, the beach is within easy walking distance, 200m away is the beautiful sandy beach of Sao Lourenco and 500m is the bigger beach of Praia Da Gale both offering beach restaurants for a spot of lunch or evening meal.

Our apartments are very well furnished and maintained to a high standard. We try to make them "home from home". They are fully air-conditioned (which is serviced annually) and the 2 bedroom apartments have free Wi-Fi and internet TV for all UK channels. The 3 bedroom apartment only has local television and no wi-fi. We have registered the apartments with the local council, they are A/L certified and have smoke alarms fitted.

The sleeping..........

The 2 bedroom apartments sleep 4/5 comfortably. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with en-suite bathroom and patio doors to a private balcony. A z-bed is available in this bedroom for a child (up to 12 years) and a travel cot is available on request. The second bedroom has 2 single beds with patio doors leading to the main balcony.

The 3 bedroom apartment sleeps 6/7 comfortably. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with en-suite bathroom. A z-bed is available in this room for a child (up to 12 years) and a travel cot is available on request. It has patio doors leading to the balcony. The second bedroom has a double bed with patio doors leading to the balcony and the third bedroom has 2 single beds with patio doors leading to the balcony.

The cooking..........

All the apartments have a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and washing machine.

The relaxing..........

The lounge/diner boasts 2 sofas and dining table, DVD player, internet TV for all UK channels, free Wi-Fi, a selection of games, books and DVD's. Please note the UK TV and Wi-fi is not available in the 3 bedroom apartment.

The views..........

Due to their proximity to the sea, the apartments boast excellent sea views which are taken advantage of from alfresco dining on the balconies. The 2 bedroom apartments have 2 balconies and the 3 bedroom apartment has 1 large balcony, all have views over the communal gardens, pools and the sea and are furnished with dining tables, parasols and rattan outdoor seating ideal for lounging or reading a book.

The bathrooms..........

In the 2 bedroom apartments, the en-suite bathroom(accessible from the master bedroom) is fitted with bath/shower over, basin, WC, bidet and hairdryer. Accessible from the main hallway, there is also an additional shower room with shower enclosure, WC and basin.

In the 3 bedroom apartment, the en-suite bathroom(accessible from the master bedroom) is fitted with bath/shower over, basin, WC, bidet and hairdryer. Accessible from the main hallway, is an additional main bathroom and a separate shower room with shower enclosure, WC and basin.

The swimming and beaches..........

The apartments are 200m from Sao Lourenco beach (approx. 4 min. walk) and 500m from Galé beach (approx. 8 min. walk). There is a large communal swimming pool with diving board, children's pool and jacuzzi. Sun loungers and parasols are available to use free of charge around the pool area.

More about Galé...........

Galé is the ideal location for a peaceful and relaxed holiday. It is only 40 minutes from Faro airport. It suits families looking for a beach holiday without the hustle and bustle of busier, more commercialised resorts.

It offers some of the prettiest and secluded coves and beaches on the Algarve (Sao Lourenco, Galé beach, Sao Rafael, Castillo etc....) all Blue flag beaches, each with their own beach bars, cafes and restaurants.

500m from the apartments is the well known Apolonia supermarket, the Portuguese version of Waitrose. There is lot's of choice of Portuguese foods as well as a good selection of UK products,also a cash dispenser inside the store. There is also an Ali-Super supermarket just 7 minutes walk away. If, however, you do not want to cook whilst on holiday, there is a good choice of restaurants within walking distance, ranging from beachfront cafes to the upmarket Michelin starred Vila Joya restaurant.

It is not essential to hire a car. We can arrange a transfer for you from the airport to the apartment (extra cost). There is a bus stop outside the apartments and the taxi rank is just a 5 minute walk, so unless you are planning to do lot's of sightseeing, a car is not strictly necessary. Albufeira, with it's more lively nightlife, is only a 10 minute taxi or bus ride away. The main bus station in Albufeira links all the major resorts along the Algarve, going east or west.

The parking..........

There is plenty of free parking available in the car park outside the apartments and underground parking with one allocated space.

Out and about..........

Guia, well known as the birthplace of the famous chicken Piri-Piri and the location of Sir Cliff Richard's vineyard, is just 10 minutes away by car. Also here is the Algarve shopping complex where you can find factory outlet shops and large supermarkets. For families, various attractions such as Zoomarine and Aqualand are all approximately 15 to 20 minutes by car. Salgados golf course is very close, just 5 minutes by car. Numerous golf courses can be found close to Albufeira and Vilamoura, golfers are spoilt for choice. Birdwatchers will find plenty of interest at the nearby Salgados lagoon, including flamingos. This is easily accessible by car or by walking along a series of wooden walkways along Galé beach to Salgados.

All in all, Galé has something to offer for everyone.........

About Tracey or Geoff

I am a Training Analyst for a local healtcare organisation and run the Gale Mar Apartments with my father, Geoff. I have a family who love to visit Portugal and Gale Mar and spend hours splashing in the pool and playing on the beaches. We love the restaurants and have spent many happy family holidays in the Algarve. In the evening, we love to stroll to a local restaurant and try some new local cuisine with a glass vihno verde or try some cocktails at the local beach bar. We decided on Gale as it is close to all local attractions, shops and towns, but quieter so you can "get away from it all" if you want to. The beaches in this area are stunning and the apartments are well looked after. As a family, we love to explore local areas, try different restaurants and relax by the pool and on the beach - the doughnut sellers on the beach are an added bonus......!

Beautiful apartment in a great location

Perfect - Large Well Equipped Apartment

We spent a fantastic 2 weeks in this excellent apartment. Everything was as listed and met or exceeded expectation in respect of comfort and specification. The underground parking was a real bonus given that we drove down. The swimming pool and communal areas are great (and new/extra sunbeds were delivered during our first week!). Gale is our favourite resort and as usual did not disappoint; everything you need for a relaxing holiday is available on your doorstep whilst there is plenty to do an see in the surrounding area. Communication with Tracey was first class and could not have been made any easier. The level of information provided both before the holiday and whilst in the apartment could not be better. Our safety deposit cheque even got home before we did (it probably had a smoother journey than we did between Santander and Portsmouth!!). We would recommend this apartment without hesitation and hope to return in the near future.

Large immaculate apartment with beautiful views

Very spacious, extremely clean and well maintained decor, beautiful surroundings and pool (few more loungers would help) Lovely sea and pool views from the balcony and everything we could possibly need within the apartment. Local beaches very picturesque with lots of small coves and within 5 minutes walking distance. Restaurants and cafes very good and again walking distance. Local supermarket very close and larger ones easily accessible by car. We have visited Portugal many times and usually stay towards the Atlantic coast and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of commercialism around this relatively unspoilt area despite being just a few miles from Albuferia, we had a lovely stay here and would definitely recommend and visit again. Great communication with the owners.

Perfect apartment for a perfect Portuguese holiday

We booked this apartment on the basis of its proximity to one of our favourite Algarve beaches at Sao Lourenco and we are delighted that we did. The apartment is fabulous! For a family of 4, it is wonderfully spacious, extremely comfortable, clean and obviously well maintained. The main balcony is a great size and a lovely place to catch the early evening sun and enjoy the view out to sea. The nearest restaurant, at Sao Lourenco, is a very short walk away and is a beautiful spot to enjoy a chilled jug of sangria after a lazy day on the beach. This stretch of the Algarve has numerous pretty little coves and I really look forward to having another opportunity to enjoy them and to stay at Gale-mar.

Apartment A is located on 1st floor with lift access. There are 2 exterior balconies, one larger for al fresco dining accessible through the sliding patio doors from the lounge, kitchen and bedroom 2. The 2nd balcony is only accessible from bedroom 1. Both balconies overlook the pools and the garden and are set back from the adjoining neighbours to give you privacy when you are sitting outside. To ensure there is no nuisance or inconvenience to other guests, barbeques are not permitted on the balconies. For your reassurance, the apartment is AL certified and approved for holiday rentals with the local council and there is a resident caretaker on site. We have also fitted carbon monoxide alarms/sensors.
