Turtle Cottage is a delightful holiday home set high on a cliff top with breath taking views of the rugged coast, beautiful ocean and dramatic reef. Built in a traditional Bajan style but with an open plan concept, the cottage features a sea facing verandah where you can enjoy an outdoor living experience, lying in a hammock and relaxing.
A luxuriant tropical garden surrounds the cottage which is walled and secure. A gate leads to an attractive pool and gazebo set amongst flowers, shrubs and sculptures overlooking the sea.
The cottage has original artwork, sculptures, and is well equipped with appliances, efficient BBQ and comfortable furniture.
There is also cable TV, DVD, CD player and iPod dock, telephone and WiFi.
The owner can arrange car hire and will meet you at the airport.
We stayed at Turtle cottage for 2 weeks everything about the cottage is charming and authentic We took in the views of the sea and the garden the sound of the ocean was amazing to wake up to every morning on the balcony. Within the garden, we had seen over 11 tortoises just wandering around the stunning garden grounds which was just beautiful. Also, we eaten well and felt completely rested just what was needed. Pat is an amazing lady and was so helpful advising us on local things of interest, restaurants and places to visit she had even arranged a catamaran boat trip for us which was an amazing experience and not to be missed. If you want somewhere to stay this place offers relaxing with beautiful views then look no further this is truly beautiful place to stay. We have recommended this property to all our friends and family. Thank you Pat, for making our holiday an amazing and memorable experience for us. We will hopefully returning back again this year 2017 see you soon Pat?
We recently traveled to Barbados to escape New York City and booked turtle cottage, having no experience with the island at all.
What a great choice we made. Pat could not have been a more accommodating host, giving plenty of great advice for or time in Barbados. She even welcomed us at 4am when our flight arrived and took us to the grocery store as our car didn't arrive until later in the morning. Pat also made great recommendations for things to do on the island, including arranging a catamaran cruise for us.
As for the cottage itself, the photos on the internet can't accurately depict how breathtaking the views are. The cottage was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean with every appliance and supply you could need for a great vacation, including plenty of fans to keep things breezy at night.
The pool was a short walk through the immaculate garden and was a lovely way to cool off in the warm Bajan sun. The turtles were also quite a treat to spot in the late afternoon.
Getting to the house from the main road was simple (despite being a New Yorker who hasn't driven in years, much less on the left side of the road) and less than 15 minutes from the airport. The grocery store, Emerald City is a 5-7 minute drive and Foul Bay Beach (incredible for running, not good for swimming) is 2 minutes by car and 5 on foot.
Must see: St Nicholas Abbey, Oistins Fish Fry, Animal Flower Caves, East coast road.
Thanks again, Pat for an incredible vacation! If we return to Barbados, we definitely hope to stay with you again!
We just returned to Manhattan after spending 2 weeks at Turtle cottage. We went to Barbados to surf, at least my husband and 2 boys, ages 15 and 19 did:) Zed's surf shop is your best option . Turtle cottage is a pretty Bajan style cottage, painted in bright cheerful colors. The outdoor decks, with views of the ocean were it's best feature. Just looking at the view was amazing. There are 16 turtles roaming about, and it was fun to see/feed them. The pool is next to Pat's house, which is a short walk through the garden. We felt very safe, and the location is quiet. You need a car to get anywhere...The crane beach is 5 minutes away, and Bottom Bay is a 10 minute drive. Pat arranged a Catamaran trip for us our second week, and that was excellent. She even provided a birthday cake for my son's 20th. Thank-you Pat:) If you want to eat out I recommend Lone Star(west coast) Buzzo, or Champers. The outdoor restaurant by the pools at the Crane is a great treat for lunch. The closest grocery store id Emerald City. We spent a lot of time at Pebble Beach. You can rent kayaks and row out to 2 shipwrecks to snorkel. We love Barbados! The weather is perfect, the locals are friendly, and the food is delicious.
My wife and I stayed with Pat at Turtle Cottage the first week in December of 2015. It was absolutely perfect for us: isolated, private, not too far from great beaches, quiet, beautiful, fully equipped to cook and go to the beach, amazingly decorated and unique. The pool was beautiful and located between the cottage and her house just a few steps away. Pat was a great host with great local knowledge. Our flight got in late and I had trouble with my bag, but Pat waited for us for at least an hour until everything was figured out to drive us home and got us some things to tide us over until our bags came. We enjoyed our time immensely and absolutely LOVED the house and it's location and our host. Can't wait to come back.
Advice, you need a car, avoid driving at night, go to the Oisten's fish fry, Bridgtown is a busy and dirty, Crane beach is very touristy.
This was such a fantastic holiday rental. I cannot recommend it enough and will return. The cottage is utterly delightful set in the most lovely garden overlooking the sea. Everything about the cottage is charming and authentic. Pat is so helpful advising on local things of interest, restaurants and places to visit. I slept well in the cottage, eat well and felt completely rested. I will be telling friends to visit. If you want somewhere to stay that is relaxing, beautiful, well positioned and well appointed this is the place for you. Thank you Pat for a fantastic two weeks. I will return.
We were lucky enough to stay at Turtle cottage for 2 weeks and it completely exceeded all of our expectations. The property and location are just as stunning and idyllic as they look, and we can't speak highly enough of Pat. She couldn't have been more helpful with local knowledge and advice, and despite being our first time in Barbados, she helped make us feel like knowledgeable travellers instead of bungling tourists.
We have have recommended this property to all of our friends and family - and to anyone else who would listen. Thanks again, Pat.
