Charming stone cottage in quiet, tucked away location close to town and beaches
I live in the local area with my partner.
Why Susan chose Bridport
We bought the cottage as a holiday home and fell in love with the area, so we moved here. We have had many guests at the cottage, who have loved their time here, so we decided to let the cottage out for others to enjoy. Bridport has a thriving art community and there are pieces of art throughout the cottage produced by local artists. We provide lots of information at the cottage for you to view on all the attractions in the area, many of which we have enjoyed ourselves. What guests have said, taken from our visitors book: "Thank you so much for letting us share this fabulous place. The cottage is wonderful and we love Bridport" K.B. and family. "The cottage is well equipped and cosy, in a lovely place of Bridport town, lots of fab cafes and restaurants. Thank you for letting us stay we will be back." M and R "The cottage has been an ideal base for our adventures, cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed-even Monopoly! Thank you." M and family. "We have had a brilliant week down here. The cottage is beautiful, so cosy and private. What a lovely area too. A huge thanks" J S "Another lovely stay in the cottage . The cottage is well equipped and maintained. Enjoyed the lovely walk to West Bay along the path by the river. We don't want our stay to end. Thanks Susan we will be back again soon". C & R
What makes this Cottage unique
The beauty of this cottage is that it is in a tucked away peaceful location but so close to all Bridport has to offer. Built in the 18th century, it is surprisingly spacious and has lots of interesting features as well as a warm feel . The enclosed courtyard garden has an historic stone wall. As we live locally we can be contacted if you have any concerns and have lots of local knowledge.

Lovely Cottage, Superb Location.
We have just returned from a great holiday and wanted to provide a review to help others find an ideal place to stay.
We were welcomed on arrival by Susan and Jez who were very friendly and helpful.
There was a tray of teabags, biscuits etc and milk in the fridge which was very much appreciated as we had planned to go shopping before our arrival but our journey was delayed (thanks to the M25!) so we were able to have some refreshments and relax before going out to buy provisions. (There is a Morrisons and Waitrose very near-by.)
The Cottage was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated throughout. Susan and Jez have obviously put a lot of thought and consideration into renting it out as there was everything you could possibly need. There was even a selection of books, DVD's and games should you want to stay inside and buckets and spades in the porch should you want to get creative on the beach! There was also a lot of helpful useful information on what to do locally and further afield.
Bridport itself is a lovely town and has a wealth of independent shops, restaurants and cafes as well as the usual high street shops.
If you want to stay in a lovely cottage in a lovely town then this is the place for you!
Excellent value for money and highly recommended.
Lovely and surprisingly spacious cottage
We had a lovely short break in this Bridport cottage with our 6 month old daughter. It had everything we needed for our stay, and was clean and comfortable. Communication was excellent from the time of booking. We'd highly recommend.
No outside space to relax
Chairs in lounge need updating not comfortable
Bedroom 1 lovely
Thank you for taking the time to review the cottage. I am glad you found it to be an ideal spot and great location. There is outside space to relax in the walled courtyard with table and chairs as seen in the photos. Additional deck chairs and camping chairs are stored in the pantry for guests use too. Really sorry to hear you did not find the Scandinavian style furniture comfortable and to your liking but so pleased you found the bedroom lovely.
Home away from home
We were greeted by Susan and Jez on arrival and found the cottage and it amenities exactly as promised. It is situated right in the centre of Bridport, but tucked away in a quiet little courtyard behind the grand old Bull Hotel. It was just ideal for us with four adults and a baby, but could’ve easily accommodated two other children as there was a lovely third bunk bed room as well as the two large light double bedrooms.
We were super lucky for the weather, something no one can predict but even if it had been not so good we would’ve been well served in this cosy well appointed cottage. I highly recommend it to anyone especially families.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review the cottage. I am so glad that you found that the cottage was cosy and well appointed. Also pleased you liked the location.
A lovely little cottage in a great location. Easy to get to West Bay, Charmouth and Lyme Regis.
Just what we needed for a short stay. The cottage was warm and comfortable, having everything we needed. It was useful to have a parking space at the back of the house. You needed to be careful turning the corner into the cottage but it was possible. Bridport was a nice town to wander around - lots of coffee shops. We enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the cottage. It is good to know that you found the cottage warm and comfortable with everything you needed. I am so pleased that you found the location to be great. We explain on our listing that parking at the cottage involves a tight corner. We have found that a couple of guests have chosen to park in the long stay car park nearby which is very reasonably priced. This is always an option.
Really thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay.
Brilliant holiday home, We loved it.
My husband and i stayed here with our 2 kids aged 12 and 5 and we all absolutely loved it. It is a gorgeous cottage and has everything you could need and thoughtful touches were also included like mini boxes of cereal. We felt the cottage was much nicer, brighter and cheerier then it appeared in the photo's, the bedrooms were absolutely dreamy and i loved the little bathroom. We had a great holiday here and all really loved coming back to the cottage. There are loads of great places to eat nearby, We loved west bay with its amazing park which is within walking distance and there are good regular bus services to some larger destinations including Lyme Regis which is just our favourite seaside. We didn't encounter any problems at all with the cottage or the area and would love to come and stay again. We would highly recommend it. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Thank you for such a lovely review of the cottage. I am so pleased that you had such a great stay. I am also glad you enjoyed the walk to West Bay beach and the brilliant rope inspired park . I am also pleased that you did not encounter any problems with the cottage or in the area.
