The house has a spacious, completely over, fitted kitchen and china cabinet and is very suitable to prepare their own gourmet meals. Of your catch, of course, or with fresh lobster, crab, mackerel, etc. that you can buy Cleggan at Johnny King. You have access to a large five burner stove with oven. There is a Senseo coffee machine, keep in mind to take coffee pods. These are not available! The fireplace works on peat, wood and / or briquettes and ensures a comfortable warmth. We have deliberately chosen not to participate in our holiday television. Finally time to enjoy music, read, talk or play a game. In front of the house is a picnic table with room for six people. In the house are two more chairs. The planters are herbs, including rosemary, delicious with lamb! Safety vest, picnic, life jacket and umbrella are available.

Home in the middle of nowhere

  • 4 of 5

We loved our week in Cleggan. We stayed there with our 2 small children who loved there room with the Lighthouse nightlight and Bert en Ernie waiting there to greet them. In the evenings we lit the fire and enjoyed sitting in the livingroom looking at our own fire with a glass of wine. Every morning the 4 cows next door greeted us with their moods. Just great. The harbour to Inishbofin was just up the road and Clifden a short ride away. We would definitely stay again. Tip is to buy new mattresses because the only 'complaint' is that after a week on the beds the both of us had pains in our back.

Perfektes Urlaubs-Zuhause

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words, Nicolas! I will tell Luke what you wrote about him, he will certainly enjoy. Allthough I don't speak the French language, I understood quite well what you have written, so: thank you again.

Tolles Haus in überwältigender Lage

  • 5 of 5

twee weken "wonen" in Ierland!

  • 4 of 5

Alles was netjes.

The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunity for active holidays. Would you like one day the ocean to go sea fishing? We will arrange this for you! Of course you can behind the house to throw out a fishing Aughrus Beg. From Cleggan sails several times a day ferry to the island of Inish Bofin, a paradise for cyclists and walkers. You can see the island from our house lying. By the local riding school in Cleggan be riding organized on Connemara ponies and Tinkers, including Omey Island at low tide on the beach that is accessible. Do you like a brisk walk? The Diamond Mountain in Connemara National Park would be a great challenge! Then you can still visit the Gardens of Kylemore Abbey. Croagh Patrick, you and hundreds of Irish climbing on March 17th, St. Patricks Day ... .. But you can also view from the foot and then drive to Westport. The journey to it runs along the beautiful coastline with numerous beaches and leave it alone has more than worth it! A fantastic golf course found in Ballyconneelly: the Connemara Golf Links. Closer to home are some beaches where you can swim, snorkel, hike and shells, such as beach Rossadillisk. And after all these activities is the double benefit of a pint of Guinness, a Jameson or Paddy, and live music in one of the many pubs in Clifden, Clegg or Claddaghduff. ..... Or, home to some peat and put the fireplace relaxing by a fire ........... books, music and games abound. Enjoy!
