Petra and Paul have jointly spent over 45 years in Global Business Travel all over the world. In 2009, whilst based in Hong Kong, we purchased our house in Bram and spent 2 years restoring the property to modern standards and converting it to a family home.
Having taken early retirement and experiencing Global travel as tourists, we decided to rent out 'Coup de Coeur'.
With Petra being a Swiss and Paul an English national, we share our non traveling time between the UK, Switzerland and France.
Paul & Petra Boyle-Roth purchased this chateau / country house in 2009
Hi Petra,
We were so sorry to have missed you, but had managed to leave early as we had a long way to go.
I think Victoria, our daughter had intended to leave a note in your visitors book, but in case she didnt, I just wanted to say what we thought.
The whole house was truly beautiful. I appreciated the attention to detail: the Gardenia diffusers, the L'Occitaine soap, the chandeliers, the colours of the walls and linen curtaining, the embroidered bedding, the lavender, the oleanders, and all the equipment we could possibly need. How lovely to have such a relaxed approach to leaving things for others to use.
The style of everything was inspiring. What an amazing vision you must have had to put together all those elements to create what you have done.
We all loved it. From little seven month old Violet who is now finding life without a pool and echoey hallways very dull indeed, to Ian who could sit in the shade and loose himself in a book, Leanne who could lie on a sunbed all day, Nathan who loved the kitchen and the BBQ, Victoria who 'lived' in the markets, Richard who had rare opportunities to spend all day with 5 year old Cecilia, and who taught her to dive in your pool, and last of all, 'moi', who, having fracture my shoulder 5 days before we left the uk, had chance to rest and be waited on.
So, from a very happy and relaxed H. family, thank you, and much luck in your venture.
With very best wishes,
Jean H.

What can we say but we 'Loved it'
Family holiday for 14. We had 4 teenagers and younger children who had a fabulous time in the pool every day.
Petra and Paul are wonderful hosts and offer lots of information about the local area.
Situated right in the village but when you are in the garden you don't realise how close you are. The garden is beautiful with lovely shaded areas and plenty of sun loungers. We ate outside every day.
The house is well equipped and it is even nicer than the pictures.
There is a good market on the Wednesday morning and a fabulous boulangerie round the corner which the children went to every day.
You can manage without a car, as the shops are on the doorstep and the supermarket is only a short cycle ride away. Carcassone is a short journey on the train but is probably cheaper to book the train in advance.
There is a great water park where the children and some adults did wake boarding which is about a 25 minute walk, great fun for all involved.
Will hopefully return someday as we enjoyed it so much.
Great house, luxury, style, impressive bedrooms, love the garden and the pool.
Paul and Petra are great hosts. Special thanks to Alain who takes care for the garden and the pool.
Bram was a little off the beaten track, a very small village/town and very quiet.
However the mansion was one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. It was spacious, clean, modern with a very French feel. Our only criticism was the temperature of the pool a little on the cool side. If you love walking, there are lots of countryside and paths to walk along.
You can get to Toulouse in about an hour by car and Narbone, a lovely seaside resort in a little under an hour and half.
Paul and Petra were both welcoming when we arrived and really helpful when we had a few domestic difficulties, all of which were dealt with promptly.
We all agreed we would love to return and for a longer stay.
Very stylish, well-equipped house with a beautiful garden of bright exotic flowers around a well sized pool and tumbling roses over a shady outside dining area. Petra and Paul have a wealth of information about the surrounding area and bend over backwards to help. Bram is a small town with a lovely patisserie, butchers, fishmongers, wine shop and Large Wednesday market. It also has a water park with Wake boarding. It's also only 15 mins on the train from Carcassonne.
We were a family group plus 3 friends and the house was perfect for everyone. The bedrooms are stunning and the beds very comfortable and the bed linen beautiful. All 14 of us being able to eat together was great. There is plenty plates , cutlery etc. The pool though small was very popular particularly amongst the children, and the garden is beautiful. We spent the week here without any cars and it was not a problem - the house is very close to the train station and the Canal du Midi was about a 20 min walk to a very nice seafood restaurant. Another 25 min walk and one is at a lake where there is a restaurant doing lunches, paddle boarding, wake boarding very reasonably priced and swimming for free!! The town has 2 Boulangeries, a Charcoutery and a very, very good wine shop!! Carrefour is also only a 20 min walk. Petra and Paul are absolutely delightful hosts and very helpful getting set up initially. We would love to repeat the experience. Thank you so much to our great hosts.
Bram is an attractive market town which lies along the Canal du Midi, midway beetween Castelnaudary and Carcassonne in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of the South of France. Its red-roofed streets circling around a central church (snail-village) , making it easily visible from the air as you fly in. It is surrounded by lovely countryside, where hectares upon hectares of vines grow in the celebrated Languedoc sunshine. Bram is also in the heart of Cathar country, and the remains of many castles can be spotted on the hilltops close to the town.
