Beautiful One Bedroom Cabin With Nearby Access To Many Activities.
About Kim Meyer
Kim, who is from New Orleans, Louisiana, has been a frequent visitor to Gatlinburg since early childhood. After experiencing the beauty of the mountains, views, waterfalls and all of the activities offered in the area, she knew she wanted to have a vacation home here. When the cabin became available, she convinced her husband, John, who is from Lafayette, Louisiana, to buy and renovate it. Black Bear Ridge was born and for the past ten years has been upgraded and kept in pristine condition. Our cabin had been with a rental company but we decided to change to VRBO. We hope you give us a chance to introduce you to a true mountain experience.

Why Kim Meyer chose Chalet Village
Once you come to Gatlinburg, you will know why we chose this area; the friendly people, entertainment, which includes all of the amenities located in both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, outdoor activities, shopping and wonderful dining. Some of these amenities include Dollywood, Splash Country water park, the aquarium, Titanic, The Island, which includes unique shops, dining and a 200 foot ferris wheel. The dining includes a vast array of restaurants such as The Park, Cherokee Grill, Smoky Mountain Brewery and No Way Jose's. The activities include hiking in the Smokies, ice skating ( year round), skiing, white water rafting, tubing, zip lining, shopping in the arts and crafts community where local artisans create and sell their crafts. For the nonhiker, the Motor Nature Trail is an option for those wanting to view the Smokies from the comfort of their vehicle, which is located at traffic light number 8, Airport Road.

The owner John was so nice and communicated so well answering questions. We were concerned about some things due to Covid-19. Due to this we spent most of our stay secluded in the cabin which is just what we didn’t know we needed. Everything was great!
3 night 50th wedding get-a-way
Cabin was exactly as presented online. Very enjoyable cabin environment.
A very detailed review with very insightful information for all cabin seekers
This cabin was very spacious, the fireplace had wood provided (So Amazing!). We loved having the back entrance For carrying luggage and groceries directly to the kitchen area, the washing and drying machines worked perfect. We parked parallel with the house so that the vehicle wasn’t facing up nor down the steep hill. You’ll be in the Mountains, steep hills, turns and curves can be scary for first timers but for us it was an adventure coming up the mountain. I have a Jeep 4x4 so it was easy. But when we drove my sisters Jeep Patriot (not a 4x4) we definitely burnt some rubber coming up the drive way once or twice (not every time). When we backed out (At night) a tree branch hugged her vehicle from front to back leaving a long scratch (this was our own fault), but I am only saying this to add caution to any drivers who aren’t well experienced with driving at night. It would be a good idea to have a person in your group to ensure the driveway is clear of debris before you head down or up in the dark. Every area in the home was well lit, we loved the accent lighting facing the fireplace and the TV propped up high for all to see is very convenient. The pool table upstairs was fun but of course you’re on a hill, so you may have to reposition the table so that all the balls dont roll all to one side. The kitchen supplies was abundant, I even dried some mango for a road snack before we left. We were going to use the blender but unfortunately The cord was chewed up by a mouse... once again, it’s a cabin, the wood shrinks in the cold days and expands in the hot days. Since it’s cold out, we are not too critical about critters getting into the house cracks to keep warm, it’s a common occurrence no matter where you go and it’s important to have an understanding that you might see a bug or two on your stay inside a WOODEN home in the mountains. If you’re frightened easily, or cautious at night, take into consideration there are neighbors further up the mountain behind the cabin and down the mountain below the cabin, they are visible and you may hear them speaking or pulling into their drive (there is echo, so they are much further from you than they sound) . None of the experiences above impacted our vacation negatively, we laughed, played card games, played with bubbles in the hot tub (the jets assisted in the bubble fort!) We went outside in the morning and enjoyed the sound of birds and had an amazing time in this beautiful cabin! We are so grateful.
