Outstanding vacation home!
I stayed with my family for 6 days in appartment Belvedere and we had a fantastic time! The appartement is very comfortable, well equipped and spacious. But the most fantastic part was the view. From the balcony, which comfortably seats 4 persons for breakfast and dinner, you have a breathtaking view of the town of Salo and the whole southern part of Garda Lake. We spent many hours just enjoying the scenery whilst drinking our Valpolicella wine. The same goes for the pool area. Plenty of room, natural shade of off large trees and again the astonishing view. You will spend some very comfortable hours sunbathing on the available sunbeds.
At the bottom of the mountain there is a shoppingcenter with a large supermarket, very convenient. And in the area there are lovely restaurants that all serve great pizza, pasta and wine. A tour to the other side of the Lake is recommended, as Lazise and Bardolina are small towns that you must have seen and enjoyed when you are in this area. Also Verona is a short drive and absolutely worth visiting.
Valentina was very helpful in getting us settled in the appartement and pointing us in the right directions and she knows the area well. We will definitely come back here in the future, but then we will stay longer as 6 days is too short a period to fully enjoy this great part of Italy and this lovely appartment.
We’ve just returned from a week staying at an apartment in this beautiful 16th century converted monastery. We are a family of 5 (children aged 11, 9 & 5.)
The apartment itself was well appointed and well provisioned with all the cooking pots/utensils that we needed. The best feature of the apartment is the view: absolutely stunning! It’s a couple of miles from the lake as the crow flies but you are offerded the most beautiful view of Salo and the lake, courtesy of the monastery’s high vantage point. It’s a little tricky to get to - up a narrow switchback mountain road - but well worth it and you soon get used to it. Although next time we’ll opt for an automatic hire car!
Our host was Valentina and she was superb: very thoughtful through the booking process and throughout our stay. Nothing too much trouble (even sending back a forgotten tablet pc via courier after we left!) We were so impressed with her excellent service. Grazie, Valentina!
We ventured out most days: nearby villages/towns (Salo & Sirmione the highlights), swimming in the lake (Mokai private beach is worth spending a little on the sun loungers and the convenience of the bar/restaurant), Cavour water park (excellent!). A couple of days were spent chilling by the lovely, shared pool. It was never very busy and the children loved it. Also good to jump into when returning from a long, hot day trip.
This was our visit to Lake Garda and we will definitely return. Bellissimo!
Wonderful appartment in the hills near Lake Garda
We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) who spent 1 week in this appartment in the mid August 2016. We had a wonderful time and can highly recommend this property, particularly to families with young children. The appartment is situated in a renovated convent up in the hills above Salo overlooking Lake Garda. It takes about 15-20 minutes to drive up the mountain around extremely windy roads so it is advisable to arrive during daylight hours. Luca met us personally on the Saturday and gave us a tour of the appartment and tips and recommendations about where to visit and activities. The appartment is spacious and has a TV with satellite and DVD, fully furnished kitchen with all the necessary appliances including a microwave and electric BBQ, dining area seating 4, laundry room with washing maching and iron and clothes horse, bathroom with toliet, bath with shower attachment and separate shower, a bedroom with a king sized bed and single and a master bedroom with another king sized bed and finally a balcony with a table seating 4 plus parasols and divan. All in all, there was plenty of space for a family of 4 and we had everything that we needed. Luca thoughtfully set up an extra bed in the second bedroom (predicting that young children may fight and may not want to share a bed). This was very much appreciated.
There were several other families with children in the complex and everyone tended to congregate around the swimming pool in the afternoon. Luca also provided deck chairs. The pool is large enough to accommodate several kids and parents at the same time and so there was no need for the various families to stagger their visits to the pool.
There is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Highlights included taking a motor boat out on Lake Garda from Moderna (20 minutes drive) and the Lido and beach at Moderno (pebble beach, 20 euro for a parasol and 2 deck chairs for the day). Other places to visit include Vittorale and Salo. Salo is the closest town (15 minutes drive) and has plenty of restaurants and a huge supermarket (Italmark).Sirmione is about a 40 minute drive and Verona is over a hour's drive.
We had a wonderful week combining a bit of sightseeing, swimming in the pool and eating on the amazing balcony with the wonderful vista of Lake Garda. All in all, it was a wonderful and relzing holiday.
Luca was a very attentive host! On the last day I forgot my house keys and he drove to meet us so we would not lose time on our way to the airport!
A great apartment in a stunning location
We had a wonderful holiday staying in Luca's apartment. It was a huge apartment, very clean and with the most stunning views. Luca was very helpful and friendly. It is a steep and winding road to the apartment so an automatic car was very helpful! There is so much to do around Lake Garda and the nearby town of Salo was beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the fireworks over the lake on a couple of evenings, which were enjoyed from the balcony of the apartment. Venice was a couple of hours away and we enjoyed a day trip there, as well as our two teenage boys canyoning in the mountains. If you get a chance to go up to the mountains, the lakes there are stunning. We particularly loved Lake Ledro. Our only disappointment was that we were not there for more than a week! Thank you Luca for your beautiful apartment.
Amazing property in an idyllic setting with spectacular views over Garda. The property is beautifully laid out with all the necessary amenities. Would love to return some day and would strongly recommend this location and property.
Good location, fantastic views, with a great balcony (the main plus of the residence) and everything in the apartment that is needed. Luca is very accommodating and if there are any issues he quickly addresses them. The road up to the location is a bit tricky but is well worth the drive. Great pool and surroundings, but the sun loungers needs sorting (a very minor issue) overall SPOT ON!
