The iconic Pied de Voute is a chalet that we have had our eye on for a wee while now and so we were delighted to make it the latest addition to the portfolio for the 2016/ 17 season.
Pied de Voute is extremely well-located just 7 minutes on foot from the nightlife at the centre of Méribel. Accessing the pistes is even easier as guests in this chalet benefit from a private mini-bus service to and from the slopes.
In terms of the accommodation, Chalet Pied de Voute is a big old bird. She has eight bedrooms spread over three floors and all bedrooms have en-suite shower or bathroom. Upstairs, there’s a small lounge area (interior designers would probably call it a “snug”) but you’re more likely to spend your time in the main lounge which is, not unusually, on the ground floor. And it is vast…particularly if you are small. Or short-sighted. Key features, apart from the space, include the large fireplace and stunning vaulted ceiling, a legacy of the previous agricultural incarnation of this building.
Seating for fifteen plus at the large table and plenty of seats for after dinner etc etc…
Please note that we offer a private mini-bus service to and from the slopes, from and to Chalet Pied de Voute! Service available from 8.30 - 10.30am and 4.00pm - 7.00pm
Chalet l'Ancolie is offered on a fully-catered basis...
We'll do the rest...!
The Chalet Company can also organise your airport transfers, lift tickets, equipment hire, ski & snowboard lessons and childcare. And, nine times out of ten, we can do this at a lower price than is available on the open-market.
Airport transfers, equipment hire and childcare can be organised through our local connections. Ski passes can be arranged and delivered to you chalet before you arrive and, through our sister company, SnowSkool, we can also expertly advise and organise lessons.
We stayed in L'Ancolie and found the Chalet perfect for our large Group. Being situated in Les Allues was a welcome bonus. It’s a beautiful little mountain village with enough bars and restaurants to enjoy a short break, but close enough to Meribel to enjoy the infamous Apres Ski. The shuttle bus picks you up literally right outside the Chalet and drops you off at the slopes within 10-15 minutes. We had 40 cm of snow overnight but the roads were cleared and presented no problem for the ski bus
The Chalet itself benefits from a huge square dining table where we enjoyed some long evenings. The lounge was suitable large enough for the whole group to be able to relax comfortably. The two balconies set off the lounge are also enjoyable spots for a quiet drink
The bedrooms are clean, tidy, but perhaps a little smaller than ideal. However, the limited size of the rooms did not cause any problems due to the size and quality of the overall living space.
Les Allues is situated down the mountain from Meribel which makes driving to Val Thorens pretty easy, just a 40 minute drive away, which conveniently passes by a large supermarket in Moutiers
We took the fully catered option and were all impressed with the adequate breakfast and hearty evening meals
If you are looking for a really lovely chalet in an unspoilt French village, l'Ancolie is ideal. We had been to Meribel three times but had never ventured to Les Allues but we will definitely be back. And if we can stay in l'Ancolie, all the better! The chalet host and chef were both fantastic too. Highly recommended.
Chalet l'Ancolie in Les Allues was the perfect place for our large family to spend Christmas. The chalet is ideally situated in a charming village with free buses and ski lifts within 5 minutes walk. The bedrooms were comfortable, there was ample storage space, and the bathrooms were clean and functional. The kitchen facilities were amazing, never have I seen such huge cupboards filled with crockery and glasses! The wonderfully comfortable arm chairs, couches and log fire meant that we spent many evenings inside after full days on the slopes, and did not venture into the local restaurants. Customer service was excellent (flexibility in dates). No complaints at all, I would definitely go there again.
Staying in Chalet l'Ancolie in Les Allues, you can enjoy the experience of a traditional chalet in a beautiful mountain village but with quick and easy access to the world's largest and the planet's favourite ski area as well as the full range of facilities on offer in Méribel.
200 paces from the front door of our chalet will see you at the shuttle bus stop which offers free-of-charge transfers up and down the valley and to the ski lifts, shops, bars and restaurants throughout the day and until the wee hours. Alternatively, you can walk a little further and take the six-seater Olympic gondola direct to four other ski lifts opening up the whole of the Three Valleys.
Facilities-wise, Les Allues has a number of bars & restaurants and a grocery store.
