Resorts - Haraki Bay / Agathi Beach / Lindos.
At 4km, Haraki Bay is your nearest resort. Leave the car in the square, wander down past the church, and one of the most beautiful horseshoe bays in Greece will open out before you. Take a walk along the pedestrian only promenade with its single row of laid-back tavernas and friendly family run restaurants. The bay is overlooked by the ruins of Pheraklos Castle, which provide an especially dramatic backdrop when lit up at night. During the day, some tavernas will offer you free use of their sunbeds and parasols if you make use of their bar facilities!
Also at 4km are the soft golden sands of Agathi Beach, backed by nothing but mountains and sand dunes. The sea is warm, shallow and clear, providing safe swimming for all, and great snorkelling. Sunbeds and parasols are available to rent, and not overcrowded, and there is a choice of 3 licensed marquee style-tavernas serving everything from cold drinks to a 3 course meal at very reasonable prices.
And you are only 15 mins from Lindos.
Internet available via SIM dongle (10 euro per week or part week, but if you have a Mac, forget it. It ain't gonna happen ! ) But anyhow, most of the bars and tavernas have free wifi now.
A free basic welcome pack is provided for your arrival, and the kitchen can be stocked to your requirements at cost (receipts provided), leaving you more time to enjoy your stay.
An introductory tour of the village and the two nearby resorts is provided free, and you will find guide books, information and maps in the house should you wish to venture further afield.
Travellers tips: A car is highly recommended for your stay, though not completely essential. The bus services through the village are regular, if not entirely punctual, and will take you to Rhodes Town, Lindos and all points between for just a few euros.

A wonderful holiday!
Quaint and simple... everything you need , very clean and cosy!
We loved it here and Martin really looked after us!
it was so lovely to stay in ann authentic greek village.
My husband and I have just returned from our stay in this lovely cottage.
The cottage was simply and had everything we needed. Martin who looks after the cottage was only round the corner if we happen to need anything, (corkscrew was the only item we needed to ask him for)
The local folks were really friendly and we had fresh oranges delivered regularly by a couple of the ladies who lived close by.
Hiring a car was good as it meant we could explore Rhodes and with many quieter bays we felt free to do what and when we wanted.
We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone how wants a quiet relaxing time.
Nice, quiet and friendly traditional Greek village to spend your holiday in tranquillity
We enjoyed every moment of our 6 days holiday in the Rhodes island. Malona is a traditional and quiet Greek village, where random strangers go out of their way to help you. A nice sandy beach (not very quiet) and a gravelled beach (nice and quiet) is just 10 minutes drive from the property. This village is almost in the middle of the island, so no place you want to visit is too far away from here. But you must hire a car, as public transport is either less than optimum or nonexistent. Our host was an exceptionally well mannered and helpful gentleman Martin, who is the best combination of British intellect and Greek hospitality. Overall a unique, laid back and thoroughly enjoyable holiday experience.
Buone vacanze a tutti i prossimi affittuari!
Very nice stone house
Very nice old house, completely furnished, in a quiet small village. If there had had been a private balcony it would have been more than perfect!
Malona is a quiet unspoilt village set amongst orange groves, 5 minutes drive from the golden sands of Agathi Beach, and the beautiful bay of Haraki, overlooked by Pheraklos Castle. The ancient capital of Lindos and stunning St.Pauls Bay are only 15 minutes drive. Half way up the eastern coast, Malona is the perfect base from which to explore the whole island. Less than 60 minutes in the car will find you exploring the battlements of Rhodes Town in the north, wine-tasting on the western slopes of Mount Attaviros, or marvelling at the skill of the kite-surfers who come from all over the world to catch the waves at Prassonisi on the southern tip of the island. Also ideal as a base for hiking or cycling, a five min walk will see you spotting honey buzzards on a quiet mountain road, or scrumping the odd orange as you wander along timeless farm tracks. The village has 1 restaurant, 3 small bars, 1 bakery, 4 mini markets, an English speaking pharmacist and a post-office. A new road now connects Malona to the West side of the island, offering spectacular scenic drives and shortening journey times to Embonas, Monolithos and Ancient Kamiros. Golf: Afandou Golf Course is approximately 15 km north of the village just off the main road. The fairways can be a little on the brown side at high season, but the greens are kept reasonably green. Clubs and buggies are available for hire. It's not exactly St Andrews, but if you can't go a week without a round, it's there. And yes, it does have a nineteenth hole !
