We had a wonderful, busy, and private weekend away.
We loved the location. Ann let us in early as she had no-one leaving that day. That afternoon we walked down to the beach/pier area at the bottom of the road. It is just beautiful. I think we saw one car and one person walking a dog.
The wood stove is fabulous. We were really cozy the whole time even during the gale, which we barely noticed, and got a little too warm at times due to the heating kicking in.
Ann was the perfect hostess: we saw her when we arrived; we contacted her about the internet password; we got an email in between arrival and departure - just making sure everything was going ok.; and we contacted her when we were leaving. Before we got there Ann left fresh brown bread on the counter, with butter and milk in the fridge. There was tea, coffee and sugar provided.
Altogether a great holiday. Perfect for that romantic getaway, or sightseeing and visiting in the area. Kylemore abbey, Lough Inagh, and The Connemara National Park are just down the road. We visited Clifden and Westport. We saw the Killary Fjord. We ate some fantastic food, and all the time you have these wonderful views of the mountains, the ocean, the bogs, the beaches and the islands (Inis Turk, Clare Island, and Inis Boffin plus the hundreds of smaller islands)
We loved our time there, and would stay again.

Lovely cottage that kept us warm & snug while Storm Ali raged.
The cottage lived up to all our expectations. Beautiful views across the bay to the islands. Ann was a lovely host & the scones, jam & cream where are delightful treat on arrival. The cottage is very convenient for exploring Connemara- and there’s lots to do!
The cottage was very comfy & we loved putting the fire on at night - a treat for us.
Thank you Ann.
