Great location but check the bed situation before booking...

  • 3 of 5

The apartment is in a great location very close to Islington's bars, restaurants and shops and a 10 minute walk to Angel tube station to take you to central London. It was a good size for our group of 5 friends. We chose the property because it had enough beds for each of us to have our own without sharing. However, only 3 double beds were made up with linen. I emailed the owner to ask for linen for two single beds but he replied 'The apartment is made up for 6 guests with 3 double beds. If you want more bedding then it's classes as more people.its says on the website.' In a second email he said there may one set of sheets in the flat that we could use but in fact the only linen was in a locked cupboard. I checked on the website but it does not say anything about the bed situation. I have not had this experience in other holiday apartments. I would suggest to the owner that he asks the renter before taking the booking how many beds they would like made up and give them a quote based on that. I would also suggest that he removes the word 'Luxury' from the description. The flat was fine but with some scuffed paintwork, showers which go from hot to cold and back without touching the controls, a cracked bathroom sink and threadbare seats on one of the leather sofas, it should not be described as a luxury property.

Nice location but needs some work

  • 2 of 5

1. Nice location. Easy to get to anywhere.

2. Spacious.

3. Champagne upon arrival is a nice touch.

1. Wifi: You have to pay for it yourself. Furthermore, it requires a credit card with a UK address to activate it. The rate is £10 for 1 GB, £15 for 3 GB, and £25 for 5 GB. All good for 30 days.

2. Washer: The drying function does not work and the cloth coming out is very wet (so both drying and spinning functions do not work). I notice that the same issue was encountered by another reviewer in 2015 and it apparently has not been fixed.

3. The front bedroom facing the street is very noise as the street is pretty busy.

nice apartment and location

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed this September. We were a party of 9 people and we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of space we had.

The apartment was just what we needed and expected and was well prepared and clean for our arrival. We arrived after midnight so used the lockbox system to checkin which was really impressive

Cool place

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to spend our early autumn break in London. Everything was how we hoped. The host was really great and we appreciated the complimentary bottle of bubbly on arrival!

The large living room and dining table was perfect for us as was the large separate kitchen for cooking. 2 bathrooms was a real benefit as we were a large group.

The location is better than expected. Both tube stations were only a few minutes walk away. One night we stayed in the area as there were plenty of trendy bars and restaurants on the doorstep

we will definitely return and I highly recommend this apartment

Nice but not 'Luxury'

  • 3 of 5

The apartment was OK but definitely not definitely looked better in the pictures. The headboard on one of the beds fell off the wall on our last night there (fortunately not on anyone's head); the bedside table in another bedroom was literally falling apart; there were 2 large trashcans and a pail and mop taking up half the kitchen and no trash cans in the bathrooms; the washing machine had no spin cycle so clothes came out sopping wet (and someone else's clothes were still in there when we arrived); there were no provisions in the kitchen at all, so if you want to eat in you have to buy every single ingredient, even salt and pepper; the carpet was old and dirty; there were only 2 towels provided for the 5 of us, and no sheets for the extra beds; we couldn't get the wifi to work despite trying to pay for it several times, so if you're counting on internet access for trip planning and communication you may have to look for wifi access elsewhere. These are all things that are easily fixed though, so hopefully future guests won't encounter these problems.

The good things: it's an interesting and lively neighborhood, we really liked the diner right next door for breakfast, you can get almost anywhere in London from the St. Mary's Church bus stop around the corner, check-in and out is really easy with the key in the lockbox, it's a decent price for 3 bedrooms, and the champagne is definitely a nice touch. So overall I would recommend it, as long as you aren't expecting an actual luxury apartment.

Situated conveniently between the two tube stations of Angel and Highbury and Islington. This makes anywhere in London easily accessible by tube which is only a 3 minute walk away.

Islington is a very trendy neighbourhood with over 100 bars and restaurants. The canal passes through the south and has a lovely river-walk on its banks.

Kings Cross is one tube station away (60 seconds) and Leciester Square and Covent Garden only 10 minutes by tube.
