The Old Smithy is our beautiful holiday home which we are letting out for a small number of weeks when we are unable to be there ourselves. This detached cottage is situated in the quintessential english village of Parwich, Ashbourne. This beautiful village boasts stone buildings surrounding an old pond and spacious village green, and lets not forget the all important local village pub! Enjoy walks straight from the door, cycle on the nearby Tissington Trail, or simple enjoy all that the fantastic Peak District National Park has to offer. The Old Smithy sits within easy reach of the nearby Manifold River which follows a course through superb scenery and is a delight for both walkers and cyclists, with the Manifold Trail following the route of the old Leek to Manifold Light Railway.
Nearby are the pretty village of Ilam, the award-winning village of Alstonefield and Brassington, while golf, horse riding, cycling and sailing are all available within 7 miles. Enjoy the beautiful picturesque Dovedale and the Manifold river, or enjoy a day out at Alton Towers, and a visit to the impressive Chatsworth House and Kedleston and Sudbury Halls. Also within easy reach is the market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, and Matlock Bath and Carsington Water, while further afield is the market town of Leek. The Old Smithy provides the ideal location for family and friends to get away from it all and enjoy a wonderful break in the country. Pub and restaurant 500 yards and there is a shop inside the pub to get all your daily essentials! Regretfully no dogs due to the downstairs being carpeted throughout.
We have recently installed a log burning stove in the main living room for cosy nights.
Please note changeover day is Friday but we will try and accommodate alternative days on request.
Couples, families and holidaymakers only.
