Loved staying at Lori’s place. Great accommodations and close to so many great places. We’ll be coming back. Thanks Lori!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Lori was attentive at time of check in to see if everything was okay, also making herself available should there be any issues. The place was clean & comfortable. Spacious for 11 of us for some family getaway. We cooked all of our meals and found that she had all of the dishes/pans/griddle/nesco cooker...everything we needed for our family. We even forgot an item and she worked with us to ensure we could pick it up a few days later. We would definitely recommend and, would stay again. Thanks Lori!
Awesome host! Cabin and location was perfect!
We got two cabins at the Grizzly Jack resort for an impromptu college reunion. This place was perfect for our us and we had plenty of room for our group. Lori was a super host and made sure that we had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked with lots of supplies for cooking/serving, which made meals super easy. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Definitely recommended!
Really nice property and lots of family activities nearby
Consider this property if your family likes outdoor activities. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner was easy to contact, communicated frequently and helped make our stay memorable.
We went for two hikes during our 5 day stay. There are several state parks within a 3 miles of this property. I rode my gravel bike into Utica. We also drove into Chicago for a bit of site-seeing. My 5-year old grandson spent a lot of time walking around the pond poking small animals with a stick.
This area has a lot to offer. The next time we come back, we would rent this property if it was available. Carl Johnson 7/27/2019
Great place to stay!
The home was very clean with plenty amenities.
It was great for our adult children. The pool table was a huge hit as we played constantly.
Very close to all the hiking and boat rentals.
We would definitely stay here again.
Great condo cabin for family vacations!
Our family rented this property with my sister’s family and our mother....a group of 5 adults and 7 kids. There was enough room for everyone without feeling crowded-3 bedrooms and 4 baths. The owner supplies inflatable queen and twin mattresses, so we had most of the kids on those. Nice enclosed balcony off the great room. Very little usable lawn space, but just enough for us to set up a ladder golf and bean bag toss game outside.
Everything we needed was already there: bath towels, shampoo, toilet paper, extra blankets, and a very well-stocked kitchen. The owner was very responsive to our questions and even called a couple times to make sure we had what we need. Probably the most accommodating property hosts we’ve encountered in our 10+ years of renting with VRBO.
The condo is on the Grizzly Jack’s property, but is privately owned. It does not include any water park passes , but you can take advantage of various free activities and the playground on the grounds. We stayed mid-week and actually were gifted free water park passes when we asked about pricing at the front desk!!! A nice surprise!!
We were able to get in some good hiking and fishing in a couple of the State parks, even though it was still pretty muddy water was still receding in some spots from the recent flooding. The kids probably had a better time because of the water and mud adventure 😂 Definitely hike down to St. Louis Canyon- a part of Starved Rock State Park that has an access point directly across from the Grizzly Jack’s parking lot. It’s an easy sandy trail with awesome rock wall caves and a waterfall at the bottom. A big hit with our group.
The Utica area had lots of other things to do- specialty shops (popcorn, gourmet cupcakes, candy, coffee), wine tasting, restaurants and bars, shopping, etc. Horseback riding in the area, too.
Overall, a great place and destination with something for everyone. Would definitely stay here again!
