Vine House is a late Victorian wing of an old farm house with lovely tall ceilings and big sash windows. It is set in a lovely quiet valley on a non through road. Sleeping 8 across three floors, there are two bedrooms (one double with king size bed and one twin) and a shower room on the ground floor. On the first floor there is the large dining/living room and kitchen. The dining room has a large table to comfortably seat 8 people. The living room area has sofas, arm chairs, a giant bean bag and log burner - plenty of room to keep children and adults comfortable. The kitchen comes with two oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Everything you need is in the fridge, from salad servers to hand wisk to slow cooker - perfect for returning after those chillier days down at the beach. And on the top floor are two further bedrooms. One twin with ensuite shower room and a large double bedroom with king size with views of fields across the valley. There is a further bathroom on the top floor with washer and dryer facilities. Outside there is parking for two large cars immediately just after the property. The gardens are on split levels to the rear of the property either accessed from the kitchen on the first floor or via steps to the side of the property. and fenced off to help control children/dogs. There are two decked areas in the gardens, perfect for eating al fresco and enjoying the Devon sunshine whether in the morning at breakfast or in the evening after a busy day exploring the nearby beaches.
Towels and bedding are included. Wifi is available. There is a landline with honesty box as there is very little mobile signal down in the valley - perfect for getting away from it - though you'll still wifi at the property. Well behaved dogs are always welcome at the property. Two childrens high chairs are available - the ones that hook onto the back of normal chairs. There is a bookshelf full of childrens toys and games. These have been either our childrens toys or left behind by other guests and so there is constantly a good turnover of things to keep the little ones entertained. Our two love going and seeing what is new each time we are there! Stair gates are on the top floor and also the middle floor.
Bantham Beach is about 1 1/2 miles away. The town of Kingsbridge is roughly a 10 minute drive away. There are great dog-friendly pubs at Bantham, Churchstow and Thurlestone. A little further away is Salcombe, but this is only 20 mins away. and then there is Dartmouth about 30 minutes drive away. And of course there is plenty more to discover around the South Hams and South Devon.
